Ima go ahead and stop where I’m at, since I only have like 10 chapters left until I’m caught up. 7.7/10. Pretty good fights, the mc is very sad, the side characters are kinda meh, the system is a dem like usual, and there is some potential for interesting mysteries. The worldbuilding is just about nonexistent. The pacing is weird, and has timeskips even during fights. There pretty much isn’t any romance so far. The emotions are just thrown into your face, and the characters aren’t realistic. But even with that, the author tries to blend sadness with happiness, and I think it’s done decently well. Again, there is a lot of potential with certain mysteries. But if they don’t live up to that potential, I’m going to go ahead and say this story has pretty mid writing. It may be cringe and edgy at times, but at least it isn’t boring.

It’s crazy that just as we’re getting out of the very extra, heavy, and sad parts of the book, there are people in the comment section of 118.1 saying “I want the sad part back, this is too happy! It’s the only reason I’m reading this!” I am pretty conflicted on this story. I think it’s pretty good, but to stop myself from typing paragraphs, I’ll just say this story is very, very extra at times. It’s not very grounded/realistic emotion-wise. Still, it’s the author’s first book, so I don’t wanna hate.

It's a very emotionally deep novel, one that expresses emotions very well. But it isn't all that good with dialogue. I loved the interactions between characters, and I loved the depictions of depression the MC had. I think the author had it right when he was writing the MC. And now that his depression is somewhat cured, I want to see more development.

If it wasn’t apparent already from the mind break and suicide tag, be warned that it gets very apparent at one point in the story. I would put a spoiler tag on this, but I don’t think I need to, and it would probably just make people not look at my comment.

This novel definitely doesn't deserve to be as low as 3.8. Is it being hate bombed or something? It's atleast a 4.4 I might leave a 5 star review just to balance it out.

No, I feel like it’s fairly voted. 3.9 is pretty much a 7.5/10. There are people leaving 1 and 2 stars, but there are just as many, if not more, 5 stars. Reviews on this site are trash most of the time, since some people exaggerate or don’t review well enough. It’s not bad, just a bit amateurish.

This novel having right rating for me. Even though I read the novel as someone point in his review the story revolves around to much in emotions. Also mc sometimes doesn't take right decision even if it's for story it feels drag to stretch a emotional ride so much. Overall a great read but not on the scale of 5. Possibly a solid 4 for me.

Id say the emotions are very well written but the romance is just VERY forced in the last few chapters. and the combat is just mid nothing else. so id rate it a like 4.2-4.3 cause I actually liked the emotion part ALOT.

Vergil’s an edgelord, but I agree with him to an extent. It’s not just the mc, it’s everyone. The characters seem forced. You got girls crying a lot, forced laughing with the golden m*r*n, lots of forced smiling, etc. I know it’s apparently the author’s first book, so I don’t want to sound too rude or anything. But the dialogue sometimes feels like it’s written by a 14 year old whose best friend is his praying mantis. The characters and flow of the story just feel unnatural, but I think it’ll get better as the author gains more experience.

Too much "feelings", I know it's the point, but it's getting old. MC is a man, not a woman, seeing him cry and being "in touch with his emotions" every single chapter is starting to become pathetic. Man up already 🤡 You are the strongest swordman, wtf you doin crying like a soyboy every single chapter 🥱 ZzzzZzzz So boring, author has to give power to MC that he didn't work for it --> System double your strength cuz WHY NOT ?! AND then BACK to "Feelings " bruhhhh 🤡

Just remove the woman part and you won't get dislike bombed (prob still disliked though). It makes you sound sexist af. Also men should be allowed to cry sometimes too buddy. Betting that yo *ss has definitely cried before.

3 times in my whole life (As a teenager / Adult, crying as a kid is natural, you can still garner empathy). But nah I'm not a "sexist", I'm a "realist". Won't remove the "woman part", because Free Speech is important. Crying is an act of showing your vulnerability, which isn't an atractive trait for a man, it is in fact the exact opposite. If a woman cries some people gonna try to help / have empathy for her, but when a man cries, no stranger would do anything. That's just the way of life. The only value of men are their skills, achievements and ressources. (You could include looks / Appearance / Charisma but it's less important than the 3 before) Not a real Spoiler Alert: MC has them ALL (Handsome / Best swordman of this world probably / Beyond Rich as a Duke's son / Noble due to his lineage and so on ...) The situation is still salvageable, no need to be so dramatic about it. If MC was a random nobody with nothing, I bet this story would have been way more interesting.

Well , Most of the people who are reading this novel are probably teenagers , so yes they like the crying, pain , suffering mc with op powers . It's too annoying sometimes . This is even worse than Takemichi from TR . In reality too much suffering and pain makes people numb , expressionless . Not just men , women too . I'm dropping this novel at ch 82 . Everything was good but this highlighting of his pain in every single chapter is sh*t . Maybe the author will stop this when the mc grow up . Give this man some character development .🙃

True ! Trying too hard to convey a feeling can have the opposite effect. Like saying "Sorry" or "Sincerly" all the time. The 1st time, the word has a lot of meaning, but if you repeat it 100 times to the same person ... Exact situation this novel is currently stuck at. To the reader, it feels and is repetitive, giving a constant sense of Deja vu, slowing the rythme of the story into Oblivion.

And this " man up" etc. Is really bs, men can cry, and sometimes should to express it, otherwise it eats you inside and that is the worst. And Mc has a f*ck*ng justification for it

Not really most men generally don't cry that often. Yeah they can be sad but they try to express that in speech /verbal communication, not through tears. Yeah it's not like they are forbidden to cry but they generally don't. Again like the other guy said, most people would be more sympathetic to woman's tears. I am not trying to be sexist. That's a fact. Again in case of mc- exept for his mother's death,he is responsible for everything else (like hurting every single of his loved ones, ruining his own reputation). He somewhat deserves it.

Despair & Depression is justified when you are powerless to your situation, which isn't his case imo

I mean in the title it says "... Depressed... " so naturally it would be about his feelings, Secondly, I've read the story and don't think that it was anywhere unnecessary when he cried, the system also gave him power because the main quest is too hard for his level, there is also no problem with that, naturally if you want to see mostly fighting scenes this novel is not for you

But such straight up power up by system is unheard of. Cause it takes away all the tension from a novel. Like here mc has lost all his reasons to work hard cause whenever the situation is too hard for him, the system will give him another power up.

Has life ever made thing easier for you, just because it was too hard ? It doesn't feel ... Yeah, it doesn't feel right. Personally experienced depression myself, and life didn't make it easier, had to pick myself up. Hard to have empathy for this MC.

Yes ! Introspection is a great tool, being an introvert can be great sometimes (Not saying extraverts don't have introspection, but I have an impression introverts do have more chance to have this trait).

Confused on how it says 216 chapters released when the button of doom appears to stop my secluded cultivation at chapter like 126.2... that was a bit misleading.. I probably wouldn’t have dived in rather, I would’ve stacked it if I knew that.. oh well.. of to the next adventure for now

japanese novels/manga usually do this. they will break down chapters into multiple, e.g 2 chapters= chapter 1, chapter 1.5, chapter 1.8 then chapter 2 So in 126 FULL chapters but becuase its broken down its says around 200
