Chapter 1203: Madness on the Cliff

It was different from that time when Pei Yan sent out photos in bed as a show of her prowess. This time, Gu Jinxiu did so without using any underhanded methods. She declared her status as the rightful fiancée, intending for the mistress to back off.

Xia Yingluo looked at Wei Lingnan. She really had not expected him to have a fiancée, no less an elegant belle.

Wei Lingnan looked at her expressionless and did not explain himself.

Xia Yingluo did not understand why, but she could feel frustration gripping her heart. Whether he had a fiancée was no business of hers. He was not related to her in any way, the sooner he was taken, the better it was!

She raised her head and smiled at Gu Jinxiu. “Thank you, Miss Gu. I’ll make my way off first, you both can continue.”

Gu Jinxiu was satisfied with her attitude. When she saw Xia Yingluo in Wei Lingnan’s arms, the flames of jealousy had engulfed her heart. She was only able to keep her cool thanks to her composure.

Xia Yingluo turned around and was about to leave. However, Wei Lingnan pulled her back. “Did I allow you to go?”

Xia Yingluo was furious. “What are you doing! Are you not going to accompany your fiancée? Our meeting was a coincidence. We have our own matters to attend to and should not be wasting each other’s time. Mr. Wei, please let go.”

This girl, minutes ago she was showing him off as “Our Lingnan”, but in the blink of an eye, he became “Mr. Wei”.

Wei Lingnan’s face darkened. “Unfortunately, I have a lot of time to waste.”

He passed his wine glass to Gu Jinxiu and said, “Go have fun, I’ll send Yingluo back.”

Ignoring her struggle, he wrapped his arm around her waist and walked swiftly towards the garage.

Gu Jinxiu was left alone. She held onto the half-empty glass of wine with a puzzled look on her face.

“Hey… Hey!” Xia Yingluo continued to struggle. However, she could not free herself from his grip and was forced into the garage. She was brought into his black sports car. “What do you want?!” She shouted as he locked her into the passenger seat. “You have a fiancée already! Why are you still coming after me?!”

He did not start the car. Staring at her, he said, “Does it bother you?”

She was shocked. Did it bother her?

What exactly was it that bothered her?

She turned her head away and said nonchalantly, “Why would I be. Even if you have a hundred fiancées, it’s none of my business.”

His eyes darkened. That’s right, after knowing he had a fiancée, her first reaction was not anger nor shock, it was a sense of relief for her to escape. Did she really hate him so much?

Suddenly, he stepped hard on the accelerator and the car raced out.

Xia Yingluo was caught by surprise and screamed. “Are you nuts?”

He did not reply and instead stepped harder on the pedal. Xia Yingluo could feel the scenery flashing by as if she was in a Fast and Furious movie. No, it was scarier—his car was so fast, everything was a blur!

“Let me out!” She was terrified. She recalled his weird antics and thought, what if he really was crazy and wanted to die with her… No way! She was still young! “Wei Lingnan, do you hear me, let me out!” She screamed but did not dare to grab the wheel. The car had nearly reached 200mph. She was afraid that if there was any error, they would end up in a pile of broken bones.

“This is the town area!!!” She was going insane.

Wei Lingnan kept his cold expression and did not listen to her. The black sports car maneuvered through the traffic like a phantom, drifting and screeching about. Soon, they were out of the town area and onto the winding mountain roads. He did not decrease his speed and nearly skidded off the mountain a few times. Somehow, he always managed to pull the car back in time. Xia Yingluo’s heart nearly stopped.

In the blink of an eye, they reached the top of the mountain, the end of the road.

The cliff was right before them, but he kept on going. Xia Yingluo was in so much fear, she forgot to scream. Her mind went blank and she tried to reach for the steering wheel to gain control. However, her efforts were futile as he gripped tightly onto it. The car moved towards the cliff at his command.

It’s over.

Xia Yingluo thought she was dead. She was going to die with this crazy monster in such a pathetic way, falling off a cliff.

The falling sensation she anticipated never arrived. Right as half of the car’s body went past the cliff, Wei Lingnan stepped hard on the brakes. The car stopped, with half its body hanging out. Time seemed to have stopped at this moment.

The ground below the car could not possibly take the impact. They were already hearing the sounds of stones and rocks breaking off.

Xia Yingluo was stunned for a moment before she finally realized that she was still alive. She burst out in tears and cursed at Wei Lingnan. “You are crazy! Bastard! Idiot!” She shook as tears messed up her makeup. She sobbed and cowered into his arms.

He looked down and watched her cry. After a while, he started to run his fingers through her hair, like comforting a terrified kitten. She wanted to push his hands away, but she had no strength left in her. Sobbing, she said, “Wei Lingnan… Wei Lingnan, you crazy idiot, bastard…”

“I am a crazy idiot.” His voice was calm as he combed her hair again. “Isn’t this what you wished for, Ah Luo? Why is it that if things don’t go your way, you turn around and leave? Even if another woman lusts for me, you are not even going to put up a fight and only think to surrender?”

As she was crying uncontrollably, she did not understand what he was saying. Her petite body shook to her cries.

Wei Lingnan continued comforting her. Beyond the cliff was an endless sea of clouds, the sun setting slowly into the horizon.

She was finally done crying. Lifting her messed up face, she swept his hands away and tried to open the door. Even though she tried with all her might, the door was locked shut.

She shouted at him, “Let me out!”

“You are still on the cliff,” he said emotionlessly.

Xia Yingluo finally recalled the exhilarating ride and saw the clouds around her. She went pale instantly. Who knew how long this car could last on the cliff? It was scary to think that she was even crying and fighting with him in the car when it was hanging like this!
