He does start off a bit naive, but he is just a kid at the start. As the story progresses he gets more cunning and intelligent.

Depends how far into the story you are. The MC starts off a bit naive but grows smarter as the story progresses and his cultivation increases. The MC also does try to tie up loose ends and fix his weaknesses as he identifies them later on.

ShadowVortex, you're in for a joy ride. I thought this just just another cultivation novel but I started reading it because I'm stacking Shadow Slave after the previous arc. And I'm not disappointed with this one. If you like the comedy in between you will love it.

Pt II he does more competitions against other academies, goes into another dimension, learn special earth technique, gets 3 slaves, gets chased by evil guy, gains another special fire, goes to another competition, meets his parents officially, goes to another special land, bullies another race, starts hunting evil guys, goes to yet another dimension, gains 2 more slaves, leaves dimensions and basically you’re caught up to chapters in the 1200s Btw, not actual slaves, it just feels like they are, they are more like loose companions

Pt I, pt II is above MC has 0 affinity to any elements, reaches age where the orb put in his body from his parents activates, he gains minor thunder affinity and relatively strong earth affinity, goes to academy, catches up to older students, goes to the special cultivation land, does bunch of things e.g chased by bunny, things to improve element affinity, gains affinity to fire and special fire, gets a cat from egg, his friends also get boosts - one gets special ice, one gets elemental warrior, leaves cultivation land, gets chased for a long time, gets space element, goes to another land to find a cure for his partner, does a bunch of travelling, almost gets killed but gains a special lightning, comes back to help his friends, all his friends and him go to the other land, they compete a bunch and get into academies, somewhere before getting into academies his friend and him learn special water technique

Not sure what your situation is. If you haven’t started, I suggest you read something else then come back as it is a pretty long novel and most elements of the novel does come back some part later. If you have already started, this will depend how far in the novel you are. If you’re about 200 chapters in, should be fine to stop and reread. If you are way past, keep going until the MC finishes something important or huge. It should be pretty obvious when hood checkpoints are. I do suggest skim reading when coming back though as you may forget something from the storyline. I’ll add a brief storyline in a comment above if it helps to have for those coming back to the novel.

Ascension of the Immortal Asura. It does start out a bit slow but it gets better the longer you read. I will say however, it is nowhere near finished.
