Seventeen-year-old Hajime Nagumo is your average, everyday otaku. However, his simple life of pulling all-nighters and sleeping in school is suddenly turned upside down when he, along with the rest of his class, is summoned to a fantasy world!

They’re treated like heroes and tasked with the duty of saving the human race from utter extinction.

But what should have been any otaku’s wet dream quickly turns into Hajime’s nightmare? While the rest of his class are blessed with godlike powers, Hajime’s job, Synergist, only has a single transmutation skill. Will he be able to survive in this dangerous world of monsters and demons with only a glorified blacksmith’s level of strength?

So, I’m going to flip through the last few chapters and try to find where I left off… Somewhere after the After Story IV Demon King and Hero arc… I think they were doing something with the dragon homeland, so a Tortus Travel Journal maybe? In some comments I may have said LN. I meant WN. I have no idea where the author is at on the LN, but I am hearing there are differences. Leave my story I came to love alone! Don’t confuse me! Lol, anywho, I highly recommend this story. If someone typed it up and the After Stories Travel Journals and sold it in book/e-book form, I’d gladly buy it to share with my kids.

I hated the anime. Never Read first if you want to truly appreciate something. Reading the story is so much better. I dunno where this one leaves off, but I’m still enjoying the after story at the point where we are dealing with the Hero’s harem… not Hajime… the uptight Hero with “issues”. That’s all the spoiler I’m giving. Well, I lied. I’m quite the fan of the demons and angels… I need moooooore!!!

New readers, please ignore the animation sobs. Arifureta, is one of the best anime I have ever watched, probably top 5. I started with gatchaman and star blazers in the 1970's, and haven seen thousands. While I am only on ch 145, i could not be more pleased. The light novel is by far the best, followed by the Anime and last the manga. Ignore the manga, read the LN, and watch the anime for pure fun.

This LN is up among my favorites like Supreme Magus, Nanomancer Reborn, and Legendary Mechanic. Definitely one of the best novels. Also, glad we have a Supreme-Tier Man of Culture among us, good sir (no sarcasm intended).

Well I've watched the anime and it isn't the worst thing that I have witnessed. But we can all agree that the CGI of the anime was trash.

Where is the dislike comment button? Even webnovel has it! I never read the manga, the anime IS trash when compared to the LN, but I agree to disagree with you about the LN. it is flipping fantastic and I need more demons, angels, and harems. The other two boys need to catch up to my Demon King so he isn’t so lonely being hen-pecked.

I have watched Anime since the 70's. Being dyslexic makes reading a challenge. Ranma 1/2 was the first Manga I ever read, High School of the Dead, is the 2nd, there is no third. Arifureta is the Only LN/WN I have ever read, and am so glad I have. I am going to take this review in a different way, then most.
I have no idea if this was the writers intent but he addresses PTSD in a new way. Yue states, I want Hajime to be surrounded by people that love him. Hajime and his companions going through trials that test thier loyalty and they always come out above and beyond.
Society looks at a hareem in a negative way and degrading to women. But why is it degrading for people to love someone so complete. But the truth is Combat PTSD is so out there, no one has ever been able to really help these people for thousands of years. The band Shinedown, addressed this in their last album and author Brandon Sanderson is also addressing it in a new light.
The author has created a place where the MC is allowed to be the man, survive and be loved unquestionably by his friends. Let's be honest all, if Yue, Shia, Tio and Shizuku can not bring your mind back... nothing can.
Semper Fi, to all my brothers out there.

The first arc is good but the rest is meh
The main character is so overpowered that the majority of foes can’t even give him a Fight. But if you like a op mc you can give it a go

personally i really overall liked this story as i came here from watching the anime, then the manga.I don't get why it gets alot of hate, it is somewhat a different isekai and the world building is amazing, aswell the cast of characters are really enjoyable.

Berrypankake

Personally I think this is a masterpiece. The author did amazing work writing the characters. Plot and story all together. The world building is one of the best out there and the story is awesome.

idk its just really weird how a 300 year old is catching a case with a 17 year old. and how the 300 year old acts like a little kid. and how the 17 year old sexualizes a 12 year old’s body. its so sus, and him constantly being surrounded by needy female characters just gets so bothersome having to read. i for one really dont enjoy having to constantly deal with that. he is op but still its annoying and it makes the story worse.

Diavolock

Honestly, a masterpiece.

He starts in a normal situation, it gets to a bad situation, a really bad situation, and then it all turns somewhat good for him. He is crazy strong, but it is due to his hard work and there is always an enemy strong enough to challenge him to some degree so the fights are never boring.

Svartrbrisingr

A pretty enjoyable story with a somewhat different take on Isekai. Yes the MC is powerful, yes he gets a Harem, yes their is a loli vampire. But those dont detract from the story since for him being overpowered its a combination of his hard work and lucky events that happened to him. As for the Harem he does get it but he only has room for one girl in his heart(at least up to the point ive read) and despite her being fine with sharing him he doesnt do that. And for the loli vampire... Shes best girl and with her personality you will tend yo forget she has a young body.

Otherwise I would say its a worthwhile read for anyone that enjoys Isekai.

I have recently come from the anime and then the manga and as of so far in to reading this light novel it's dawned on me how much mental fortitude hajime has to deal with the sh*t stain of a life he had previously on earth although I have just finished the 3rd chapter (Volume 1 Chapter 2) I know this will be a worth-while read. I can only anticipate what will happen next.
