Donghua is very good, although it moves slowly at first.

The manhua of this novel was one if the reads I have enjoyed the most when I first started on this hobby. And I agree with what “NoonefromNowhere” said, the update released is super slow. But i am thinking of rereading the novel from the start since it should include many details. One thing that is special about this novel and touched my heart is when he was leaving his mortal life. He went back home and it happened to be his sister’s wedding but he stayed in the shadows and watched from afar. I was so touched and cried a bit at that moment. It was sad and difficult tbh to imagine myself as the MC in such a situation. It was a very sad a realistic scenario.

I honestly like the callbacks to characters across the timespan of cultivation, people of lower cultivation die/pass on while he lives on and meets their successors

from Mc pov your right… but anyway does that change anything ? the autor choosed this scene, he was like « i want rape scenes, but i will be juged to be deviant if i juste do rape scenes… let’s add aphrodisiac ! not my fault its aphrodisiac ! » honestly at first R scene (when he killed sect’s guy and got the pill) i was surprised the Mc saved her and leaved her safe, but that was juste a mental conditioning for reader to implicitly see the Mc as a good person. using this perception he improved the Mc « integrity » to increase the probability the true rape scene will be accepted adding to that his « aphrodisiac », the autor must had thought no one can be upset with that if he want add s*x, then juste add s*x everyone like that ! everyone like romance ! but why the hell add rape?
