Xin Siyue saw Bai Ning was in the kitchen preparing dinner when she entered the room. Therefore, she offered to help while Chen Sinan and Xin Jin were playing in the garden with Chen Chenan.

After Chen Chenan had enough playing of the car Xin Qiancheng gifted him, he eagerly ran back into the living room while announcing that he wanted to play with the goldfish and little turtle.

Xin Siyue poured a glass of water for him to drink and he gurgled a whole half glass of it in one shot. “Mommy, I’m done drinking. I’m going to play now.” Before Xin Siyue could wipe his sweat for him, he ran off to play.

“Slow down!” Seeing that Chen Chenan wasn’t even paying attention to his feet, Xin Siyue hurriedly reminded.

She brought the glass back into the kitchen as Bai Ning smiled. “I really like Anan.” Not only was he really cute, but he was also very smart and a smooth-talker. Even more, he was healthy and carefree.

Xin Siyue wanted to reply when she heard Bai Ning ask, “Have you thought of getting Anan a brother or sister?”

Xin Siyue froze when she heard this.

She hadn’t heard Chen Sinan or Chen Family’s elders mention bearing an extra child. However, she did receive an invitation from Zhong Qin and Zhuang Zhao two days ago. Zhong Qin talked about how she was three months pregnant and casually mentioned, “Xinyue, why don’t you and Chen Sinan have a second child too? That way, our kids can have playmates. I like the idea of getting childhood sweethearts for my kids.”

She clearly remembered Chen Sinan talking about his fondness for daughters.

Bai Ning was lost in her thought. She then asked, “What’s the matter? Did something happen between you and Sinan?”

Bai Ning couldn’t even believe her own question. Right. That’s impossible.

The two visited Xin Family whenever they had time, unless Chen Sinan was extremely busy. They always traveled in pairs. When Bai Ning occasionally glanced at them, their gazes were full of gentleness and tenderness for each other. How could there be problems in their relationship?

But Bai Ning didn’t understand. The two were still young. Anan was also very adorable and healthy. Why aren’t the two thinking about getting a second child?

Seeing how worried Bai Ning was, Xin Siyue hurriedly comforted, “Mother, you’re overthinking. We have a great relationship. Nothing happened.”

“Then…”

“Mother, let’s just go with the flow.”

Bai Ning could only reply, “Chen Family is known for having only one child in each generation. After all, Anan would be very lonely by himself. It’d be quite lively with another brother or sister in the family however.”

Xin Siyue tugged the corner of her lips up. “Mother, I understand.”

In the evening, Chen Chenan pestered Xin Siyue to sleep with him. Bai Ning originally wanted to coax him to sleep with her but Chen Chenan refused. Therefore, Xin Siyue said, “Mother, let him sleep with us. He isn’t well-behaved in his sleep. Don’t make it so that you have trouble sleeping because of him.”

“It’s just one night. It’s alright.”

“Mother, it’s okay. Just let him sleep with us.”

She followed her to have her way.

Chen Chenan played quite a bit earlier, so he fell asleep quickly. Seeing that he was deep in sleep, Xin Siyue tucked a corner of his blanket in.

Chen Sinan walked out of the bathroom to see the bedroom quiet and silent. He lowered his voice and asked, “Asleep?”

“Yeah.” Xin Siyue got up and originally wanted to grab her clothes to go into the bathroom to shower. Seeing that Chen Sinan was wiping his hair, she reached over to grab his dry towel to dry his hair.

Chen Sinan smiled and said, “Wifey, you’re great!”

Xin Siyue also smiled. “Right, as long as you know.” After that, she tried to get everything out in one breath, “Mother just asked me a question.”

“What?”

“Mother asked me why we aren’t planning for a second child for Anan.” After she finished, Xin Siyue stopped and looked at his rear view. She quietly waited for him to answer.

Chen Sinan grabbed her hands and asked, “Are you happy with the life we have right now?”

“Yes.” Xin Siyue said truthfully.

“So let’s maintain this state for now. I have Anan, so I’m satisfied.”

Xin Siyue retorted, “But, didn’t you say you want a cute daughter when we were planning to have Anan?”

“I don’t want one anymore.” He almost said this without hesitation.

Xin Siyue was expressionless when she heard that. She looked at him, wanting to find traces of him joking around, but unfortunately she didn’t. He wore a serious expression, unprecedented seriousness.

Xin Siyue felt a bit awkward. “You really don’t want another child?”

He responded firmly, “No.”

Xin Siyue’s eyes teared up a bit. She lowered her head and didn’t want to talk.

Chen Sinan got up and hugged her. “It’s enough that we have Anan. Wifey…” Chen Sinan didn’t continue the rest of his words.
