Xin Siyue also tugged the corner of her lips, pretending to be calm. “I understand.”

Chen Sinan watched as she struggled free from his hug and entered the bathroom. He stood in the empty room, not knowing what to do. He looked back to see his precious son in bed. He reached over to pat his soft hair, but he said nothing in the end.

When they ate breakfast the next day, Bai Ning could clearly feel the strange distant feeling between Chen Sinan and Xin Siyue.

They didn’t make any eye contact during the entire breakfast.

Up until they were about to go, Chen Sinan asked Xin Siyue, “Can we go now?”

Bai Ning, Xin Jin and Xin Qiancheng looked at each other, having the instinct that something happened.

When Chen Sinan drove the car over, Xin Qiancheng specially followed behind. “You fought with my sister?”

Seeing that Xin Qiancheng persisted on getting an answer, he replied, “I won’t let her get into any accidents again.”

“What do you mean?” Xin Qiancheng just asked this when he heard Chen Chenan call out loudly, “Daddy, daddy! Why aren’t you ready yet? You’re so slow! Uncle, uncle, are you leaving with us?”

Xin Qiancheng replied, “No, uncle isn’t coming. I’ll visit you when I have time.”

“Okay, Anan will be waiting for uncle.”

“Okay.”

Xin Qiancheng sent them away and as expected, he heard his parents discuss, “What happened between Siyue and Sinan?”

Bai Ning stopped for a while before thinking and guessing, “Could it be about the child?”

“What about the child?” Xin Jin asked.

“I just asked Siyue why she didn’t plan on having another child yesterday. Anan is very cute. It’d be perfect if he gains another sister or brother.”

Xin Jin thought about it before replying, “It’s their business whether to have another child or not. They will make their own decision. Don’t ask them in the future.”

Xin Qiancheng connected everything and seemed to understand why Chen Sinan didn’t want a child. He already went through a terrifying experience when Siyue gave birth to Anan. He was scared, not sure whether they’d be as lucky the next time or if there would be a miracle still.

However, Xin Siyue didn’t understand. Their relationship had cooled a bit and Chen Family’s elders naturally detected it too.

When Weng Yinlin was shopping with her, she brought it up. “Did A-Nan do something bad to you recently?”

“What?” Xin Siyue thought about it and replied, “No.”

“Mother, I have been wanting another child, but he refuses.”
