Until chapter 1000, more or less, the novel is good. Afterwards, the quality dropps heavily... Calification: 6.5... The good: decent romance for a cultivation novel, the harem is composed by strong, independant and interesting female characters, there is no rape, strong MC that is not afraid to kill, however, he has limits. Until chapter 1000 he is smart. Decent ending. The bad: enemy's plot armor and power ups gets extremely absurd and OP to escape alive after being defeated many times at the last moment, everyone's IQ dropps so the enemy can do whatever they want, the MC is not dense yet ignores many interesting women and lastly, the lack of calm time to cultivate or simply expand the worldbuilding in peace. It was one trouble or thing to do after the other without rest, jumping from one mission or trouble to another, making the MC's growth based on treasures and lucky chances he picks up in hurry instead of really cultivating...

It's an enjoyable story, has its low points but I advise reading this and Desolate era before reading the Great Ruler

When I first started reading eastern fantasy (Chinese cultivation), I read coiling dragon, city of sin, desolate era, divine throne of primordial blood, and all of er gens (author) books first. Then I read these 3 books. These books by this author honestly were bad in comparison to the books mentioned above. If those were 8-9/10 these were 5-6/10. I do appreciate that each book gets better than the last. Clear improvement by the author. I was hoping he'd keep writing but he disappeared. Such a shame. If you've never read these before, they are okay. Not great. Not bad. On par with martial world. I'm dying for a proper cultivation novel that has romance. These are the closest to what I want to see. Bah. Come back author! Write a new story with even better romance included!
