i gave up on 210, i thought this gonna be a kingdom building, training to be op war general, research magic to become as powerful as the magus of old. its a third of this novel and other than killing few thugs and low level officer, he's basically getting pushed left and right even more so after getting into the army

The stroy of reincaranted guy in a world of magic, but magic isn't really present, the world look like england in the 16th century, the backround story is good the mc and others characters are quite decent, but the too much info dumb and many repetitions a 6/10 at best, to read only when you are bored and don't have anything else to do

Story about a reincarnated Chinese (nationalist) that used to be a compute engineer. He ends up in a world with 1600 technology so 1st generation muskets with the whole black powder shenanigans to prep the shots. In his case he doesn't have the ultimate memory or knowledge to bring about industrialization however there's a twist : magic exists. Magic is a tool to experiment with for new discoveries, for some nice action and there's a nice story about it (in the early parts of the novel. And this where I start to have issues with the story because I think the magic part was too quickly shoved aside as a side tool to develop new firearms. The plots introduced for the whole evil magi also wasn't explored, maybe it's just because the story isn't really finished tho, not sure. The novel comes also with lots of info dumps about stuff that will be repeated later for example the author will have the MC spends whole chapters talking about his plans then proceed to have him put them into action so he will write every steps of the plan and after everything is done he will make a recap of everything that happened. Really annoying to have to skip all of that. The MC is also very weird and has a strange personality, he starts as a stranger reincarnated then cares for his family and gf then cheats on her multiple times then marries her proceeds to distance himself from them all because of "work" then cheats on his wife again because she "changed" while she is just thinking about their children's future" Anyway all of this makes for a nice interesting slice of life story about military succès and kingdom building with some annoying aspects

I think that the story overall is quite good for one with a reincarnated mc. The story is set in what would be 1600-1700 It has a very slow pace but with some time jumps. He gets a wife mostly because he needs one since it is seen as good to marry young. He joins the army and rises through the ranks due to his prior knowledge. The one thing that I hate is that magic feels kind of put to the side of the mcs interests so you will find the start and the newer chapters having it take upp space. You will however understand why it would be wise to keep being a mage under wraps wise more and more as the story progresses. The book is however not finished yet as of chapter 592 and the last chapter was released a year ago so I don't know if it will be finished. I really hope it will but after a year I don't have huge hopes still I recomend reading this as it is quite detailed in both magic and culture.

Sorry for me rambling and for hiding quite a lot as a spoiler it is mostly early to mid book stuff butt still if you want a clean slate don't open it.
The major parts of the early story is the mc finding out that he can use magic in a world that is on the outside really hates mages so the first 100 chapters or so is him dabbling with magic and going hunting with his friends. Then he and his group gets broken up when they become adults the mc joins the army like some of his friends but they get stationed at different places. So the next couple of hundred pages is the mc fighting for his kingdom in a couple of wars the mc having been reincarnated finds the taktics of the world to be primitive. The world is basicly between 1600-1700 so they are using mach lock muskets and line formations. So the mc tries after he has gotten some rank in the army to use these tactics only to be called cowardly. The rest of the story is him founding what isesentially the United states of amerika an him trying to gett his newly established country through some wars and improving firearms to ww2 level
