Summary

After awakening a low talent compared to the kids his age, Kyle was ridiculed and looked down upon by others.

That's why he stopped working hard. He knew the world which was filled with danger only followed the strong but there was nothing he could do.

"What's the point of working so hard when my potential is low?"

One day his brother suggested him to give the Royal Academy test just so Kyle could gain some experience.

Kyle was stunned, not believing that his brother was asking him to take the test!!

He knew there was no way a person who didn't even work hard after awakening his talent would be able to pass the test of one of the biggest Academy in the Kingdom.

Nevertheless even after knowing he would never be able to pass the test, Kyle decided to give it a go only for his family.

For anyone wondering if they should read this , do it . Those reviews were probably rushed or from some stupid readers (some were complaining there’s no character development on the 9th chapter). The novel starts off a bit slow thats because the author wants to expand the world and the story of the MC later on so we basically still dont know whats he gonna do or who’s he gonna go against . Personally i like this type of novels . It might not be the best but its definitely not a waste of time .

Ok, writing is primitive, ... Very primitive and charector development seems to be there but yeah it's not peak but if you are s*ck*r for such arcs it's d*mn fun and keeps getting better rather than worse.( Not caught up yet) Tower arc kinda pulled tho.

No good . It looks like machine translated . The choice of words and the dialogues are really bad

It really feels like I come across a lot of MCs with the name Kyle in web novels, it's kinda weird

In fact, most authors tend to choose a name that is short and easy to remember, but not common or simple, such as Bob or Paul, and they tend to choose names that give a sense of sobriety or strength. This only applies to Western authors,

It feels noticeable and odd to me because I imprinted long ago on paperback Western fantasy novels where authors often make up names like Anahurtok or use names with a long history like Rhiannon. Overall, they have a certain aesthetic. When I read web novel book descriptions with characters named Kyle, it kinda lands on me the same as if they did name the character Bob Smith. It's like a mental sad trombone sound. This incidentally is also why I hate when translations change people's Chinese names to things like Jim and Sara.

For the poison testers, Ican say it's worth reading in my opinion in the start story feels a bit rushed & less detailed but as it progresses after like 50 chps, Story arcs gets interesting so it's worth giving it a try.

For this novel I certainly enjoyed the primary world-building and MC status. I went in hoping for a standard story about growing into and finding one's place/innate talent along with some harrowing challenges and companionship (both human and not); and in that sense I got exactly what I was looking for plus extra. A good and appropriately complex tale. But for me the MC's personality and 'gifts' are a hard fit for the world the novel seems to be created for. What we get in the beginning doesn't line-up exactly with what was created later even taking into account character-development. In addition, the 'spice' in the beginning that saves our MC and drives the plot, feels like a literary burden, maybe even going so far as a shackle, as the story progresses. It's a good story, but it just seems to lack something to really make it shine. Good solid read thought. Not angry at it at all.
