Chapter 81: From now on, no enforcement officers on Linjiang Road

Ling Yun noticed that the female stall owner was in her 20s and was around 5 months pregnant with a big bulging tummy. Even though she had a pretty face, she looked weary and her complexion was slightly sallow. It was obvious that long-term sleep deprivation, malnutrition, and overexertion had led to an imbalance in her body and made her extremely weak.

Ling Yun squinted his eyes as he avoided the stall owners who fled in a disorderly manner and walked forward.

“I’m begging you. We bought these vegetables from the farmers’ market 20 miles away at 4 am, they’re very fresh. You guys can take home a few pounds if you’re interested in it…”

The female stall owner was terrified. She begged them when she heard that they were going to confiscate her goods and trishaw.

The teen in uniform glared at her in disdain and replied, “A few pounds? We are from the City Management and Law Enforcement Bureau, as if we’d want your rotten vegetables. Take them away!”

“Sir, I’m begging you to take into consideration the fact that I’m pregnant and spare me some pity. Please let me go this time around, you can take away all the vegetables, but I’m begging you to leave my trishaw behind!”

The female stall owner was on the brink of tears and kept on begging the officers.

“Beg us? You also begged us the last time, what did I say to you when I let you off the hook?”

The head enforcement officer saw that they had utterly terrified her and instructed the crowd to stop. Then, he drew out a cigarette. A teen beside him quickly got out a lighter to light his cigarette.

The color drained from her face when she heard those words. Her eyes were filled with humiliation and embarrassment as her chest rose and fell rapidly, she was angered beyond words.

The leader inhaled a huge puff of smoke and exhaled it all over the female stall owner’s weary face as he let out a perverted laugh. “Tell me, what did you promise me back then? Tell me…”

The teenagers roared with laughter as they lecherously gazed at her huge breasts, which were rising and falling rapidly as she panted in embarrassment.

“Si…Sir, I’m begging you. I, I’m 5 months pregnant, I can’t…”

The female stall owner was too embarrassed to say it aloud as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Pfft, who said you can’t do that if you’re 5 months pregnant. In fact, isn’t this the period when you have the most needs? Moreover, even if it is inconvenient down there, you still have your hands and mouth, right?”

The neighboring stall owners had all hid somewhere as far as possible by then, in fear that they might get caught.

Thus, the leader became more and more outrageous and started spewing all these obscene words!

The other uniformed teens burst into laughter and one of them began to bootlick the leader. “Precisely, Brother Tian believed you and had already prepared a hotel room. How dare you stand him up?”

Another long-haired enforcement officer said, “Liu Li, you really don’t know your place. Brother Tian has already let you off the hook 3 times just to observe your performance. Moreover, if you really knew your place, we’d let you own an entire grocery shop instead of selling vegetables from a pathetic stall. How dare you make a fool of Brother Tian?”

Liu Li’s cheeks were bright red from embarrassment and she nearly bit through her lips. She held in her embarrassment and anger as she replied, “I really don’t have the time, I have to take care of my lover who is in the hospital, can’t you guys spare me some pity?”

It was as if Brother Tian was completely unable to sense Liu Li’s pain and anger. One could even say that he couldn’t care less. He chuckled, “Pity you? Well, I want to, but you didn’t give me a chance! Wishing to maintain your purity while you earn your living here every day, don’t you know who’s the owner of this piece of land?”

Liu Li was filled to the brim with hatred and anger before she finally exploded. “Just because you people are enforcement officers, doesn’t mean that you guys can bully people! Will you just let us live?!”

He paused before continuing in a tone filled with disdain, “I’m telling you, even if you do comply with my request, I don’t want it anymore. We’re doing things legally today, you’ve broken the law by running a roadside stall and affected the cityscape. My team will be confiscating your goods and equipment. Brothers, get to work!”

Everyone swarmed forward like a bunch of savages and crowded around the trishaw before they began to confiscate all of Liu Li’s vegetables!

Even though it was supposedly confiscation, the enforcement officers were not at all interested in the vegetables. Potatoes and tomatoes were flying all over the place as they hurled them around. Before they knew it, the place was a complete mess and the cart was already empty.

Obviously, this was supposed to serve as a warning and threat to Liu Li to see whether she would submit to their leader, Brother Tian, on the spot.

A weak and pregnant Liu Li was obviously no match for a bunch of ruthless men. All she could do was stare helplessly as her vegetables, which she had painstakingly bought from the supplier, became nothing but trash.

Once the enforcement officers were done smashing things around, Brother Tian gave a signal to one of them.

The enforcement officer caught on and walked up to Liu Li. “Get out of the way. According to the rules and regulations, we have to confiscate this trishaw as well.”

Liu Li’s body was trembling violently but she still insisted on trying her very best to fix the situation. She struggled to kneel down and beg them to let her go but was unable to due to her big tummy.

In the end, she could only give up on kneeling down. She begged them as her lips trembled, “Sir, you all should be done venting your anger after “confiscating” my goods, right? I can only rely on this trishaw to earn a bit of money for my living expenses and medical bills. I’m begging you to let me go. Once my lover recovers, I’ll definitely repay my debts with gratitude!”

When Brother Tian saw that Liu Li was still unwilling to budge, he shook his head in disappointment and uttered in an imposing and cold tone, “Carry on!”

Liu Li had no choice but to retaliate with all her might when she saw that all her efforts and begging were in vain. She spread her arms as she stood before her trishaw and said, “This trishaw is my lover and my unborn child’s life. If you want to take it away, you have to get through me!”

Brother Tian gave her a sidelong glance and chuckled, “Non-compliance with laws and regulation? Brothers, you know what to do, don’t you?”

The enforcement officers had three undefeatable moves: chokehold, arm lock, flying kick!

Sure enough, Brother Tian led two other enforcement officers towards Liu Li. One was about to strangle Liu Li’s neck, another was about to grab her shoulder, while Brother Tian flashed a malicious smile as he reached for her breasts!

The other two took the opportunity to seize Liu Li’s electrical trishaw.

“Ah… Save me… The enforcement officers are attacking a pregnant lady…” Overwhelmed by sadness and hopelessness, Liu Li closed her eyes. Even though she knew that screaming for help was pointless since no one would dare to intervene, she still did it out of instinct.

Liu Li closed her eyes and anticipated her untimely death, but to her surprise, she was perfectly fine. All she heard was five noises, quickly followed by screams from Brother Tian and his underlings.

Right beside her was a relatively tall and fat but strong-looking young man instead. He had a mesmerizing dimple on his left cheek as he flashed a bright smile at her.

“Are you alright?” Ling Yun asked with concern in his voice.

“I… I’m alright, you…” Liu Li knew right away that this young man before her was her savior and her face was instantly filled with gratitude.

“That’s good. Go sit in the car and rest well. Watch how I’ll settle them!” Ling Yun smile was filled with serenity as he patted the seat on the electrical trishaw, signaling her to take a seat.

He then marched towards Brother Tian.

“How dare you hit the enforcement officers?!” Brother Tian had been flung as far as 7 meters by Ling Yun. He finally propped himself up after howling in pain for a long time before asking him with disbelief in his eyes and rage in his voice.

“Enforcement officer? What’s an enforcement officer? Why can’t I hit an enforcement officer?!” Ling Yun chuckled as he moved towards him.

“Piss off, little kid. Seeing as how you had the guts to hit me, you’re probably asking for trouble!” Brother Tian’s expression resembled that of a savage as he scrambled to get up before Ling Yun walked over.

His hands had been so close to touching her breasts and he had been ready to give them a good squeeze, but he did not even get the chance to have a proper look before Ling Yun had sent him flying.

“Brother Tian, how dare this big fat idiot who came out of nowhere spoil our fun?!”

The first enforcement officer to bootlick Brother Tian also struggled to get up before running towards him.

Both him and Brother Tian had no idea what had happened and why they got sent flying.

As a matter of fact, Ling Yun had witnessed the entire process as the five enforcement officers bullied and humiliated Liu Li. The reason he did not intervene at first was to observe whether these five scumbags were enforcing the law or abusing their power by oppressing the public.

In the end, what he saw was a bunch of disgusting and shameless degenerates who were no better than animals!

“Turns out these enforcement officers are even worse than Sun Xing who blatantly ran people over with his car!”

Ling Yun finally understood what these enforcement officers were doing. When he saw five able-bodied men put a pregnant woman in a chokehold and try to take advantage of her, Ling Yun dashed forward to the trio’s side, blocked them with his arm and jolted them away. He then raised his foot and sent the other two degenerates flying.

“If a bunch of trashy hooligans like you can be enforcement officers, I’m announcing that from now on, there will be no more enforcement officers on Linjiang Road!”

Ling Yun looked at the enforcement officers who got up one after another with an evil smirk on his face. The dimple on his left cheek might have looked lovely and refreshing, but he had a gaze as sharp as a knife!

With a bright smile plastered on his face, he leisurely walked towards the five people who had Brother Tian as their leader!
