Chapter 98: The Fraudulent God of War (Part Two)

At that instance, there was absolute silence, not one person dared to talk, including the four great warriors. Of course, that excluded the mountain of men groaning in pain. No one was able to see what exactly happened in the clinic during that one minute. However, they clearly saw all thirty men thrown out mercilessly. Even though they all flew out in different postures, it was an undeniable truth that they flew out.

Ling Yun was neither panting nor struggling for breath. For a person to be able to throw out more than thirty men under a minute and to throw them so far, just how strong was his arm strength?! Even for a basketball player, to throw more than thirty shots under a minute is a tall order that would leave him panting. Yet this guy did not even show any signs of fatigue?

Was he even human?

Putting his absurd strength aside, anyone with a brain would realize the true terror behind his actions. There were two main reasons for this.

Firstly, the men Ling Yun threw were all hot-blooded young men! They were alive and reckless! There was no way that they would have willingly allowed Ling Yun to throw them out like that. This meant that Ling Yun had subdued them in a split second before throwing them out like garbage!

Next was the terrifying accuracy of his throws! Even though the doors of the clinic were not narrow, they were only 1.8 meters wide. Furthermore, the height was no more than 2 meters. To be able to throw all thirty men consecutively out of the opening without any one of them hitting the door frames, just how insane was his aim?

It was only at this moment in time, that everyone realized what Ling Yun meant when he said that he was there to ‘finish a task’. He was referring to throwing everyone out!

Dao Zi’s face at that moment was nearly distorted beyond recognition. It was very ugly indeed!

All he felt within was a sense of bitterness and helplessness. His facial muscles were trembling uncontrollably and under the streetlamp, his scar looked like a pitiful earthworm shaking in fear.

It was impossible for him not to feel fear!

To think that he would get cold feet before the battle had even started!

Now he was sure that the guy before him was the same person who had beaten both Tian Botao and his nephew to a pulp. This guy was undoubtedly Ling Yun!

Despite his indifference in front of Tian Xiaoguang when he was warned about Ling Yun, Dao Zi was actually a highly cautious person. Thus, whenever he carried out any mission he would always made sure that his victory was inevitable. This meant that he would always prepare enough to give the enemy a one-sided beating. This was also why he brought more than a hundred men to wreck a single clinic.

However, never in his wildest expectations would he have known that Ling Yun would be so powerful! Putting an ordinary person aside, how could an army of ants ever hope to win against a fierce and majestic lion?

“Just who exactly is this person that those two idiots angered?” Dao Zi lamented. Now, all that filled his brain was hate, frustration, and regret!

However, the deed had been done. The clinic was in a complete mess. Would he be able to settle this with a simple apology and truce? Just looking at Ling Yun’s arrogant face told Dao Zi the answer!

Dao Zi held a distressed grin, summoned up his courage and pushed his way to the front. With a bitter smile, he answered, “I’m the boss…”

Ling Yun lowered his head and glanced at him. In fact, Ling Yun knew that he was the boss from the start. He then asked, “What’s your name?”

“Big brother Dao…”

Standing above the steps, with a raise of his leg, he gave Dao Zi a powerful kick in the chest. With a loud thud, Dao Zi fell all the way back till he slammed into ‘war wolf”s body.

“Big brother my a*s! I asked for your name!” Ling Yun shouted with a frown.

Having sworn unyielding loyalty to Dao Zi, the four great warriors immediately charged towards Ling Yun in anger.

Were they foolish? No! Were they scared? Yes! That being said, for those who walked the path of the triads, every day was filled with bloodshed and conflict. There would always be times where a person will meet someone who they cannot defeat. However, that does not mean that they should escape with their tails between their legs! After all, they were still quite well known in Qingshui City’s underworld. Even if they were stood face to face with imminent defeat, they should never give in to their fear! That’s the pride and code of conduct of the underworld!

“Stop!” Dao Zi screamed while enduring the pain in his chest the moment he saw his four loyal men dashing towards Ling Yun. It was too late!

Upon seeing the four men charging recklessly at him, a trace of respect flashed across Ling Yun’s eyes as he raised his right leg in response. With his left leg rooted to the ground like Mount Tai, his right leg moved like lighting. In a blink of an eye, a thunderous ‘pah pah pah pah’ was heard and all of the four men were lying with their backs against the ground. They did not even have the chance to hit Ling Yun with their metal poles.

Having been kicked to the ground, the four great warriors struggled to get back on their feet. However, they realized that they could not get up because of the immense pain in their chest. It was so painful that they were even breaking out in cold sweat.

“So? What’s your name?” Ling Yun asked again coldly as he pointed at Dao Zi

“I’m called Dao Yong, most people around this part calls me Dao Zi.” Dao Zi answered obediently.

Ling Yun nodded his head before asking, “So Dao Yong, do you still intend to fight?”

Fight? To hell with the fighting! There was no way he was going to let Ling Yun have another round of human throwing session! Even together, the four great warriors could not even lift a finger against Ling Yun. Not to mention, after the kick to his chest, Dao Zi could not even muster any more strength. What was there to fight now?

Dao Zi knew that so far, Ling Yun had only been playing with them. It is obvious that Ling Yun was holding back or else they would have been crippled! What a defeat! It was a total defeat! Not just that, Dao Zi no longer had the guts to continue resisting. That is how wide the difference in their abilities are! Dao Zi took a deep breath. Following the code of conduct, he wrapped his right hand around his left fist and spoke.

“We did not know that out opponent was such a warrior, we shall admit defeat for today. Please have mercy and let us off!”

For those who lived in the underworld, they all did so for the sake of earning riches. All of them fought for their own gains. However, the underworld is not a battlefield. One should lower their head and admit defeat when faced with imminent defeat. To fight even when knowing that would lose is no different from having a death wish. Having analyzed the situation and knowing that admitting defeat held more merit, Dao Zi immediately followed through. After all, from what he saw, Ling Yun did not seem like a person who had no mercy.

Ling Yun remained silent as he looks across at Dao Zi and his gang.

Understanding what he meant, Dao Zi turns his head back and announces, “Everything’s over, go back!”

The hundred plus men were long petrified by the ‘god of war’s display of strength. Now that they were given the permission to leave, they could not have felt happier. In a blink of an eye, all of them had formed a procession as all of them made their way towards the cars.

Ling Yun raised his brows and ordered, “Leave twenty capable men to help clear up the mess in the clinic before leaving!”

The clinic was now messier than a rubbish dump. Hence, there was no way Ling Yun was going to let his mother clean up the mess. Dao Zi immediately held back twenty plus men and ordered them to clean up the clinic before they could go. At that moment, all those young men had lost their will to resist. Thus, they went obediently into the clinic and using what little lighting the street lamp provided they started cleaning. Enduring the unbearable smell of medicine, they focused hard on cleaning every nook and cranny of the clinic.

As long as they cooperated, Ling Yun would not raise his hand against them. Releasing his grip on his ‘human weapon’, Ling Yun beamed at Dao Zi.

“So, I guess it’s time for us to have a good talk?”

Having been living in the underworld for a long time, Dao Zi instantly understood what Ling Yun meant by a ‘good talk’. Unexpectedly, he nodded his head in agreement before saying, “I understand what you mean, just state the sum and I will give it to you.”

How easy it is to talk to smart people? Ling Yun thought as he grinned at Dao Zi. He was waiting for Dao Zi to offer a price instead.

“Ten thousand?” Dao Zi replied hesitantly as he tried to guess Ling Yun’s minimum sum.

In response, Ling Yun merely peered up at the sky. It seemed like it might rain one of these days…

“Thirty thousand?” Dao Zi exclaimed as he grit his teeth. Let’s just take it that that fat customer did not come yesterday night! He thought in his mind.

Ling Yun was now looking at the ground as his leg kicked the pieces of shattered glasses nonchalantly. Just by looking at the numerous cars that lined along the road, one could easily guess that they were worth at least two to three hundred thousand dollars. Yet Dao Zi was only offering a mere thirty thousand? was he taking him for a fool?

Dao Zi’s heart hurt just thinking about losing so much money! To think that he had come to the clinic with the intention of exterminating the whole family. To think that he had come to the clinic to wreck the place and to break Ling Yun’s two legs! To think that he almost ended up being the one whose legs were broken. Now even the thirty thousand dollars he had earned yesterday was not enough!

Dao Zi grit his teeth, his lips trembling as he spoke.

“Fifty thousand dollars!”

Ling Yun finally raised his head to look at him.

“Sixty thousand dollars, cash, in exchange for your five lives. Now hurry up and bring the money here!”

Dao Zi almost rolled over and fainted. The shock was equivalent to a mallet smashing his heart! That sum was worth two months of his pay!

As crazy as it sounded, at least the sum had been finalized. Just like what Ling Yun said, sixty thousand dollars in exchange for five lives. Twelve thousand dollars for each life. Following that train of thought, it was a fairly good deal. Furthermore, Dao Zi was sure that if they were to refuse this deal, they would no doubt pay the consequence on the spot! Even if Ling Yun did not kill them, if he were to use just a bit more strength, their medical bills would easily exceed even this amount!

Not to mention the fact that Dao Zi had already damaged the clinic to such an extent!

Therefore, as much as it hurt him to part with such a large sum of money, he still reluctantly decided to agree to Ling Yun’s offer. He immediately called the financial secretary of his gambling den and ordered her to bring the sixty thousand dollars over as fast as possible.

Yep, what a good way to earn money! Ling Yun thought in his heart. Though his face remained indifferent, deep down he wishes that more thugs would visit the clinic to do some thrashing!

Ling Yun nodded his head as he slowly approached Dao Zi. Standing at his side, Ling Yun then raises his forefinger and in a flash, hits several of Dao Zi’s acupuncture points.

“Don’t be scared! You won’t die from this!” Ling Yun beamed at the pale-faced Dao Zi.

“By the end of the month, you’ll be back to normal. However, at midnight tonight, you’ll experience immense pain for three to four minutes. Once you endure through it though, everything will be fine.”

Ling Yun gave Dao Zi a wide smile before continuing.

“I don’t care why you came to wreck our clinic but if any more trouble were to befall this clinic in this month, you guys can get ready to forfeit your lives. Are we clear on this?”

Dao Zi was finally utterly convinced that the man before him was none other than a legendary martial artist! He could only lower his head in defeat as he accepted the bitter reality before him.

After twenty minutes, a car arrived outside the clinic entrance. A man and a woman got out of the car. Each carried a black bag stuffed full of hundred dollars notes in a neat and tidy fashion.

Dao Zi took the two bags from them and held it towards Ling Yun respectfully with both hands.

“Do you want us to count?”

Ling Yun took the bags from Dao Zi and dropped both of it nonchalantly on to the ground beside him.

“No need for that!” Ling Yun blurted out as he turned his head towards the clinic.

After making sure it was cleaned completely, he turned back to Dao Zi and reminded him, “Remember what I said. Come back to this place and find me in a month’s time. Now get your guys and get the hell out of here!”
