Chapter 90: Potato Landmine!

After pondering over half a day, Jiang He still could not come up with a good name. He therefore simply gave up, and cheerfully harvested the gold ingots.

[Ding!]

[+10 Farm Points]

[Ding!]

[…]

In his mind, the System kept jingling with notifications.

A single gold ingot would earn him 10 Farm Points and 1 EXP, which was alright. Most importantly, it was like the money tree, and would not be reduced to ashes after the ingots were all plucked out. It was a long-term regenerating resource, although it takes seven days to grow each batch of ingots.

Two trees therefore supplied him a total of 200 gold ingots, earning him a total of 2000 Farm Points and 200 EXP.

“I now have 10700 Farm Points, enough to improve the Strengthened Nine Yang Technique up to Second Tier!”

At Jiang He’s very thought—

[Ding!]

[-10000 Farm Points]

[Congratulations, Host. You have cultivation the Strengthened Nine Yang Technique up to Second Tier, mastery.]

In the split second that the System notification jingled, the True Qi in Jiang He’s body went into overdrive. The silhouette of two great suns rose into the air, his aura climbing by several notches, and his cultivation rose all the way from rank-five pinnacle up to rank-six advanced until it stopped.

Taking a deep breath, Jiang He punched at the skies!

Boom!

The skies rumbled resounding and cracked.

Jiang He withdraw his fist, shook his head and sighed. “I thought that mastery of the Second Tier of the Strengthened Nine Yang Technique would improve my cultivation up to rank-seven. I didn’t expect that it would only reach rank-six advanced.”

The effect fell a bit short of his expectations.

Even so…

It was acceptable.

Jiang He screened his own body with inner vision, but he did not feel awesome.

“Well, it’s a standard ascension anyway, even if I did skip more than a few levels. But how awesome could it be, when I did not break through to rank-seven of grandmasters?”

Jiang He felt it closely.

His True Qi was simply a bit more abundant.

That said, while he could cut down the Earth Demon Heavenly General with five slashes before, just two slashes were enough now.

“Now, what I face is an Awakened with the power to control corpses. This little bit of power wouldn’t be enough!” Jiang He’s gaze turned towards the pile of ashes on the ground then.

What should he plant?

After scrounging through the stuff that he had piled up in a corner of his yard, Jiang He found five potatoes.

It was high in nutritional values, and after a little Baidu-ing, Jiang He read that that it helps increase bust size, and that there were many ways to serve it: baked, stir-fried, salted, or made into coleslaw after cooking it.

Planting all five potatoes, Jiang He glanced at his phone and found that it was past six in the evening.

He stepped out of the yard to his front gates, and found that things were quite lively in the village.

Military trucks were parked over every alley and path.

Some of his neighbors were already relocated, and every remaining resident were loading their belongings on to the trucks, with help from the police and members of the Martial Arts Department (MAD).

The elderly had grim looks on their faces, and were subtly wiping their tears away.

It certainly doesn’t feel right moving from a place they stayed for the most of their lives.

Quietly puffing on a cigarette near his gates, Jiang He was about to return to his yard when Duan Tianhe’s MPV arrived.

As Duan Tianhe himself got down, he went straight to the point, “Jiang He, I have to stand guard over Lingzhou City and can’t be away for long. But when I get back, I’ll have Old Cheng bring a weapons company and some elites to back you up.”

Wang Siyu, Wang Sizhen, and Li Fei were all aboard the MPV too.

All three of them would actually stay to help Jiang He.

It was especially the case for Wang Sizhen, and he looked like he was raring to go. Rubbing his hands, he said, “Jiang He, you don’t have to say it. When I think about how us bros are going to fight side-by-side… I am getting a little excited.”

“Excite your hammer!”

Jiang He was at a loss for words. “Big Onion Brother, all you awakened was a rubber mullet. Why are you here to join in the fun?”

Still, worried that he was being too direct and it would hurt Wang Sizhen, Jiang He changed his tone then and added, “You’re a special support-type Awakened. You should be shining brightly at the right post.”

“R-right post?”

Wang Sizhen was a little blank at that.

“Big Onion Bro,” Jiang He asked in return, “What are the attributes you have found out thus far?”

Wang Sizhen talked about it and said, “It makes hammering in pillars very easy, and I noticed that the hammer gets stronger when I use it to hit a wall, which makes pasting tiles and bricks together quite convenient.

“…”

Jiang He was taken aback.

How many days have you awakened? That’s all you tested?

After musing for three seconds, he then said, “Lingzhou City is undergoing major constructions at the moment, so I’m sure you could shine in the construction business. As for Wang Siyu…”

Wang Siyu’s head was lowered, and she quietly said, “The whole village has moved away. I’m worried if you stay here alone.”

“What’s there to worry about? I’m a big man and I have my own hands and feet. Or would I starve to death?

Beside them, Li Fei couldn’t help laughing and subtly gave Jiang He a thumb-up. “No wonder you’re still single after all this time despite your good looks. It seems like you did all you can to stay that way.”

“And you!”

Jiang He pointed at Li Fei then, barking, “You’re a D-class Awakened! You’re even weaker than my dog. Why are you poking your nose into this? Go home and cultivate, we’ll talk when you’re stronger.”

Less than a dog!

The corner of Li Fei’s lips twitched.

More importantly, he could offer no retort!

Jiang He’s dog was really stronger than he was!

Hence, with those sharp words, he chased the trio off.

Jiang He himself shook his head with a bitter laugh.

There was no helping it—it was too dangerous for them to stay.

After seeing them off, Jiang He returned to his yard, where the potatoes he planted had already sprouted into a potato shoot that was half his height.

Breathing a long sigh of relief, Jiang He couldn’t help chuckling. “Fortunately, the potatoes aren’t growing from the branches—my crop isn’t affecting my world view this time.”

Potatoes grew beneath ground, and had to be dug out during harvest.

Still, they have high yield, and one shoot would grow up to seven potatoes, meaning that one Mu could produce over 5000 catties since one potato was already 2 catties.

Getting a shovel, Jiang He dug out one of the potato shoots.

“What the…”

He was dumbfounded.

There were thirty potatoes from that single shoot—each of them was huge and weighted up to five catties.

Still, that was not the most important part.

Instead…

“Why is the potato’s shape so weird? It looks just like a landmine.”

Jiang He mumbled, picking out one of the potato and staring at it.

A line of data appeared before him.

[Potato]

[Inedible, contains devastating firepower.]

[Usage: Bury beneath the earth. Blows up when stepped upon.]

[Friendly reminder: This is an extremely powerful farm produce. It is suggested that the Host drop to the ground and clutch his head with both hands upon detonation to stay immune from damage.]

Jiang He was at a loss for words.

What the heck?

Why would weird stuff keep popping up? Was it that hard to fulfill his wish of having baked potatoes?
