After the bombing incident, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Samaranch, went to visit the victims at the hospital. No matter how much he wanted to arrest the bombing suspect, there was nothing he can do. As the President of the International Olympic Committee, he does have some powers, but he does not have investigation powers!

All Mr. Samaranch could do was to visit the victims and nothing else.

At this time, something unexpected happens. Mr. Samaranch’s secretary told him a Chinese businessman wants to donate a sum of money for the victims.

Actually, this was not necessary. Other than the two victims who passed away, the rest of the injured were covered by insurance when they bought the tickets. The insurance payouts were enough to cover their hospital bills.

Even if there is a shortfall, the Atlanta Government will make up the difference.

But the Atlanta Government and the US government did not mention anything about compensations to the victims as they felt this was an accident.

Now, an outsider, who was not involved, is willing to donate to the victims, and this made Mr. Samaranch very grateful.

Is Feng Yu representing the Chinese Government? China was bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games and had lost in its bid to host the 2000 Olympics Games by one vote.

Samaranch felt Feng Yu was too young and thought he should be the son of some Chinese government officials. In many countries, there are politician’s families, and he had met several young men from those families.

“I am just doing my part. I would like to donate 10 million USD to the victims. I hope they will get well soon.

Samaranch was shocked. 10 million USD?!

800,000 to 1 million USD is considered a significant donation to Samaranch. The victims’ medical expenses were covered by insurance and the US government, and he thought this Chinese young man will only make a small donation.

But Samaranch never thought this young man wanted to donate 10 million USD!

“Mr. Feng, I represent the International Olympic Committee to thank you.” Samaranch shook Feng Yu’s hand again. He was at a loss of words.

“Don’t mention it. But this donation will not be made under my name. It will be under the BML company, and this is the check for 10 million USD. Please give me a receipt.”

Donating as an individual is different from giving under a company. Using a company can create publicity and increase brand awareness. Samaranch doesn’t mind and will not reject it.

Samaranch asked his secretary to prepare the receipt and was curious about this BML company. He had never heard of this company before. Is it a Chinese company?

“China must be proud to have a philanthropist like you.” Samaranch thought for a while and said.

He thought since Feng Yu might be the son of a government official, he should be happy to hear this compliment.

Although Samaranch had misunderstood Feng Yu’s identity, Feng Yu was still happy to hear that. “No… I am proud to be Chinese.”

At this moment, Samaranch could almost confirm Feng Yu is representing the Chinese government.

During China’s next bid to host the games, Samaranch will try to help China get more votes.

Both chatted for a while, and Feng Yu led the conversation to this year’s games.

During the closing ceremony of every Olympic Games, Samaranch will always say ‘This is the best Olympic Games in history’ during his closing speech.

But this tragic incident and the mess the US Olympic Games Committee created, had disappointed Samaranch.

“Most successful? I think this is the worst Olympic Games in history!” Samaranch replied angrily.

Feng Yu had achieved what he wanted. He had successfully made Samaranch angry. But this was not enough. Feng Yu wants to blow up this matter and shame the Organizing Committee!

“I heard the arrested suspect is innocent. The Americans are trying to cover up for their failure in protecting the visitors at the park. They lacked sportsmanship and is only using this event to make money. The Olympic Games had become a commercial activity.”

Samaranch was about to say something, but his secretary returns with the donation receipt, and Feng Yu left without giving Samaranch a chance to explain.

Not long after Feng Yu left, some reporters came to interview Samaranch. They want to hear what the International Olympic Committee has to say about the bombing incident and the arrested suspect.

Samaranch’s anger immediately explodes! He had lots to say earlier, but Feng Yu had left. Now, he could no longer hold back!

“My views? You are talking about that person who is arrested? Everyone can tell that person is not the suspect! How can such a thing happen during the Olympic Games? I am very disappointed with Atlanta’s security! This is my view!”

Samaranch’s reply was considered mild as he did not bash the US government and only mentioned Atlanta.

The reporter was shocked to hear Samaranch’s reply. Samaranch said the arrested person is not the actual bomber?

“This year’s games had broken many records. Are you satisfied with this year’s Olympic Games?” The reporter quickly changes the subject.

“Satisfied? After the bombing incident, you want to know if I am satisfied? If you are in my position, are you satisfied? If you really want me to answer, then my answer can only be utterly disappointed! I am not in the mood for interviews now. A philanthropist had just donated 10 million USD to the victims of the bombing, and I have lots of work to do.” Samaranch stood up and left. He does not want to speak a single word with this reporter!

The reporter was shocked by Samaranch’s outburst. Utterly disappointment?!
