The story feels dull and has a lot of things that goes extremely stupidly. The godesses feel extremely irrelevant despite the fact the story mostly revolves around them. Their appearances is just filled with bullshit

It's a fun read but the thing with Reshow it's kind of annoying to me. Also both goddesses only appear to talk bullshit, it's actually incredible. I think King should just get every info he can out of Reshow and the others and either send her back or just kill her already as this thing with both goddesses showing up can stop and he can continue with his kingdom building.

A lot of people have been saying that this series starts off slow but it does that for a reason. The mc is reincarnated as a weak goblin with no understanding of why he is a goblin. He has to get stronger and get his subordinates stronger before he can start his goals of conquest or anything else. Goblins are weak so he has to overcome that by combining his goblin strength with his knowledge human warfare tactics. The mc's ambition is really simple, what's the point of living if you don't reach the apex. As a human he was tied down by laws but as goblin king he makes the laws but he also abides by his own set of morals. The mc's inner turmoil of having all of these factors stealing his sanity but he has to overcome that. The translators said that the series picked up around chapter 42 because he finally has his foothold and can now begin expanding. I personally like the growth of the character especially as he realizes the weight behind the title of King. I also like the stark contrast between him who is supposed to be a vulgar goblin and the other races like humans, elves and demihumans who don't have the same attachment to their title. My only dislike is that 130 chapters in and the mc still is a nameless king but maybe that is a sign that he will be like the nameless king from darksouls and none can best him. I have high hopes for this series and it has yet to disappoint.

This story starts a little dull. If you read to chapter 30 or so and still don't like it, it's not for you. Personally I loved everything besides the slow beginning. The MC has clear beliefs and goals so it doesn't feel like a story where the MC is overpowered for no reason. The building of a tribe is just a fun process to read,

One major issue I have with this novel is that unlike Chinese novels that are descriptive this one is extremely brief especially the beginning. This problem although the setting and plot is good for me it feels rushed , for example you would expect for someone from our modern world to be become a goblin in a foreign world they would need a long time to adjust and in that process learn about the protagonist of our story but no few paragraphs of him complaining and his natural goblin instincts are enough to make him hunt.
Another place this rush causes the story to fall short is the main characters evolution. In the early chapters even though he was beaten down he gets to sneak kill one of two stronger monsters while they are fighting with a sword that magically slipped from their hands and landed near him.
If you are looking for a very well written story about the journey of a weak monster to an overlord like Chrysalis this ain't it.
