Lmaoo I love this novel. The funny thing is no matter how much you hate the MC, the mc also knows what you hate about him and so does the author. It goes to a point that even his own Dao heart expels his soul because of how stupid “arrogant” he is lmao.
it leans heavily on concepts and world design rather than story progression and dialogue. While on paper it sounds okay-ish, it's not because pacing is all over the place. When I say it's all over the place, I mean it's like you are reading a thesis about a fantasy world, not reading a novel. Is it complex? Surprisingly it is not, but some "concepts" take so long that it's both meaningless and absurd. We don't need to delve into the same thing repeatedly to get the point across, and then say the exact same thing but slightly change the outcome of that train of thought. It gets boring pretty fast and you start wanting to skip and get a move on. 1700 chapters could have been 500 chapters, and it would have been for the better.
The novel is interesting. The plot is complex, and the characters are lifelike. There is some common tropes, but other than that it is unique.
I love this novel. Its much better than awespecs other work, Dimensional Descent, and I don't know much about his third novel but I personal love this novel and wish it wasn't on the back-burner so much. Its MC has a personality that may grate on the nerves of some few people but I quite enjoy the MC's personality, its refreshing as I haven't read a novel with an MC quite like him in a long time.
I read up to 200+ chapter and have no choice but to drop it since I couldn't take it anymore. What to expect from this novel? :- 1. Trash Mc. 2. Too much arrogance, all talk but no ability, unnecessary conflict, the only reason he survives is due to plot if not for that he would have died within 2 years of being born(2nd life). 3. Too many cultivation path, which have realm within realm (it's a lot), it's like author is afraid that he won't be able to stretch the story far so he throws all bullcraps he could to make it complex as possible(unnecessarily complex). 4. All his talents become sht, we told his talent is top of the world , but he just keep getting Nerf after Nerf. 5. Mc doesn't learn from his mistakes, even his so called life partner (cultivation teacher) tells him to control is arrogance, even says she will help him grow but does nothing to better his personality. I feel like puking just by reading his behaviour truly rotten stuff. NOT RECOMMENDED TO READ(Worse then common Chinese trash novel, at least they have some enjoyable moment but this have nothing other then arrogance of mc)
I guess everyone who has written a review already told you but Awespec is an amazing author and this novel is another one of his masterpiece. Amazing character development, spectacular world building. Also there’s always a ‘Shanks’/OP character in his novels if you love such stories. As always his MC always has some similarities in personality and progression so if you love Dimensional Descent, you will love this too and vice versa
If you like awespec stuff, this is for you. Even if you don't, I generally find this more enjoyable than DD, so I'd still recommend it. Interesting characters, fun worldbuilding and, despite being a xianxia, its power system is still distinctive enough to be its own thing.
Great character development. MC starts as way too arrogant, but goes on to become much less annoying. And the great thing is, that the development happens as a "byproduct" of the story, and is not the focus such as with Sword God in a world of magic. Good grammar, great quality of writing overall.
Writer made MC too arrogant that it get on nerves, too much plot armor, too much bs, most of all A totally hypocrite MC, an insane man, his reasons changes chapter to chapter and more of a child throwing fits and making enemies everywhere
I'm going to copy this review and put it on all of awespecs books. When creating a character there are 3 main ways that I've seen it done. 1st create a blank slate, have the character have almost no background to speak of and almost no emotional ties, this allows for easy character development as you can show character growth with ever adversity, or understanding of self and not have to worry about having a character that doesn't feel right. 2nd create a character with a set mindset, background and goals, this allows for more easy plot development but it blocks off almost all paths for character development. 3rd have an established mindset, background and possibly goals but then proceed to shake their views, break them, and then reform them into something new creating in my opinion natural character development and awespec out of all the books I have read does this the best. thank you for reading.
