The Ant King (왕) was an immensely powerful Magic Beast born from the Ant Queen on Jeju Island where an S-Rank Gate had opened. The Ant Queen, who was monitored 24 hours a day by a Japanese satellite, showed a massive decline in its magical energy. It was later learned that this was due to the Ant Queen birthing her strongest child, the Ant King, for the sole purpose of beating strong Hunters. The King was one of the few magic beasts capable of communicating with Sung Jin-Woo similar to Baruka of the Red Gate and Kargalgan. Through his ability, Gluttony, the Ant King was able to learn human languages including Korean after devouring powerful S-Rank hunters. It is one of the most powerful magic beasts introduced within the series, with no hunters present during the Jeju Island Raid being able to fight against it, excluding Sung Jin-Woo. The Ant King is the primary antagonist of the Jeju Island Arc. To view the entire article, click Ant King.

Summary

10 years ago, after “the Gate” that connected the real world with the monster world opened, some of the ordinary, everyday people received the power to hunt monsters within the Gate. They are known as “Hunters”. However, not all Hunters are powerful. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, an E-rank Hunter. I’m someone who has to risk his life in the lowliest of dungeons, the “World’s Weakest”. Having no skills whatsoever to display, I barely earned the required money by fighting in low-leveled dungeons… at least until I found a hidden dungeon with the hardest difficulty within the D-rank dungeons! In the end, as I was accepting death, I suddenly received a strange power, a quest log that only I could see, a secret to leveling up that only I know about! If I trained in accordance with my quests and hunted monsters, my level would rise. Changing from the weakest Hunter to the strongest S-rank Hunter!

I mean it was the logical answer to all of the dungeons and stuff but still it’s anti-climactic especially with an action-packed story

I'd recommend you to start at Novel chapter 183 as that is the start of the arc, the manhwa chapter 143 is the 3rd chapter of the arc so you'd basically reread from manhwa chapter 140. That arc (International Guild Arc aka the USA arc) goes from 183 -> 199 in the Novel, and 140 -> 151 in the manhwa.

Uma boa novel, fácil leitura, envolvente e boa para passar o tempo lendo. Uma boa evolução da história e o final foi parecido com os finais onde geralmente há uma história semelhante. No geral uma boa história.

I loved it so much. I loved the ending, too, as well as the side stories. Everything is just good. This story was so exhilarating and I’m so excited to se everything in the manwha. 😭

I looked for this after reading the solo leveling manhwa (it was the first manhwa I ever ead, so I wanted to see how it ended as the progress was too slow for me). I absolutely love the novel, and the translation is amazing. Thank you to both the author and translator, as well as this site for hosting this.

I absolutely enjoyed this. The story was interesting and fun, but the writing itself was really good.

I found myself immersed through the author's words in the world he had built.

I didn't like the ending, but I didn't hate it either. All-in-all, worth reading at least one...and maybe even a couple of time.

Read this light novel before it became main stream with the manga adaption and so on
I was really enjoying the light novel it was by far the best leveling system (novel) out there
Especially love the items and the skills.they were balance overpowered.
And the story was getting so good I really enjoyed it way back in 2018 but after main stream I feel like the author made his way to please the readers so much and thus lead to a bad ending.
He should have followed his heart and what ever ending he had chosen otherwise we would have been contented.

Still overall this is by far one the best leveling system light novel and I recommend every one to give it a try
the end is ...

This is the OG classic Korean novel. Solo Leveling / I Alone Level Up is for Korean novels and webtoons what SAO and Overlord are for anime and isekai. Solo Leveling is *the* starter novel for Korean stories.

Mostly because the webtoon (comic/manga version) is absolute fire though. That webtoon made waves.

I like the story a lot and I have read this for the 5th time yet it still give me chills. If ever there is another update I will definitely read it.

I'm a sucker for overpowered main characters, so this was an enjoyable read for sure. One of my favorites so far. The ending had me burst in tears at first but the side stories made up for it. Mad respect to the author and his genius mind for creating such a masterpiece. I can't even imagine how writers come up with these incredible stories.

this was the second LN / WN i've ever read and it's soooo good. i will however recommend the manga more, it conveys things slightly better(as better as you can with how good this is) and the fights make more sense but it's reallllly solid as a novel too
