I Became the Hero Who Banished the Protagonist

This story is certainly worth a read--it isn't unnecessarily bloated or overly derivative. However, it desperately needs an editor. Not that the translation is bad: the translation is actually fine. There are just far too many jumps into different first-person perspectives and too many inconsistent moments of narrative time, and overall more pages should be spent on characterization. The characters all have a lot of potential, but they feel flat all too often due to insufficient time spent to flesh them out. I'd love to see the author revisit this story, make substantial revisions, and publish it as a standalone novel.

if you've been reading after my review and saw my comment about the "original mc" I'll admit i was wrong about the mercenary, i still feel he's not fit as a hero tho. The sad story of a hero who tried to save the world or at least thats what i thought this was. A hero is a slave for hope, carrying the burden that he never actually had the obligation to. and i always feel mad when others blaming the hero for their own incompetences, save yourself don't take a hero sacrifice for granted at least this one seems to found a happy ending i feel glad that the peoples not dumb enough to blame/use/scheme at him (well some does) anyway it is a great story, yet im kinda p*ss*d that the side story seems not here yet (?). the translator did a great job too, i love it when translator actually liked what they read instead just treating it as a job.

It's quite refreshing to see a history about a true selfless hero. It's quite a nice read and the plot is really well done (don't even get me started about the plot twist at the end, because until I get to that I was really disappointed with what looked like a plot hole). Give it a chance and it may become your favorite.

At the beginning, you can see this novel is like the other isekaied story that became the hero and others. BUT, the character development makes it different, the MC still has "hero" mentality but added the realist so it isn't over positive. . . and I love how the author made the plottwist, it is incridibly creative. I wish there are a side story.

Really liked it. While some of the twists present in this novel are already present in others, it still does a good job at it. At the middle of the story I continously thought, “Why is this even an isekai, I feel like no one would act the way MC is acting, nor is there much characterization of how MC was before all this” because the MC really is too virtous and ‘noble’ wanting to save everyone even at the cost of his own body. With the twist at the end the personality of the MC makes a lot more sense though, which is something that I always appreciate (that is, sort of getting an explanation of why things are the way they are). I do think the ending was a bit rushed, more specifically since the start of the meteorite arc where the MC meets the holy sword. Regardless, it’s imo a pretty good and fun novel.

I wanted to give it 4. 5 Stars. It has good story and a great character development. It kinda dark when it shows pov of normal people affected by the disaster and the choices they make to survive. Overall it's a good read.

one of the best novels. i usually drop 99% of the novels i read, but this one is different. it's short and a quality one. hero has good heart and genuinely wants to save others. tired of evil amd edgy mc

a novel that truly embodies what a hero should be like, it also shows the personality development of the mc and the secondary characters, as well as having different points of view of the characters, you hate them at the beginning but learn to love them in end. it was one of the best Korean novels that were posted on this site

This novel was really good with great plot twists and incredible characters. The development of the character where not quick and meaningless but important and necessary. Even the main character personality and character was something I really enjoyed. Otherwise it was a good read. 🐰🐰

Mc's is just too good that i can't relate at all. Let alone real world even in fantasy as these kind of people would never have a happy ending (ex forcefully). One might say, ”that's why u can't be a hero"; but u can't be always goody like mc no matter how much u try! It's just good to read that's all(not this one btw). For example like Arjen(sc) said how he can't sacrifice closest for unknown ppl which opposite of mc's ideal (think of how can u sacrifice ur family for some unknown) . u can appreciate but not follow the ideal ( unless u r chuunibyou). So read but plz not make fuss over how realistic it is! Story's average bcz how mc's dull and always takes the blame but gets lucky everytime. Happy reading for kill time 🙂 Pr: 6. 5/10
