Chapter 744: The Domineering Black Spirit Snake

The phoenix egg glowed with an extremely alluring golden light.

Black Spirit Snake stared at the egg. It was as if she was in a trance. “I’ve waited for so long for the opportunity to have a phoenix as my beast pet. My dream is finally going to come true!”

Her flawless eyes glowed with excitement, and even her serpentine lower body loosened slightly from around An Lin’s waist, giving him a chance to breathe.

“Look! It’s such a perfect egg!” Black Spirit Snake clasped the egg between her hands before thrusting it toward An Lin. It was as if she were a little girl showing off her prized toy.

An Lin nodded in agreement. “That’s true. It is indeed a fantastic egg!”

“This phoenix egg is the biggest treasure that this world has to offer! It wouldn’t be too unacceptable if I took this egg and left everything else to Bai Ling,” Black Spirit Snake muttered in a low voice, and An Lin was unsure if she was speaking to him or to herself.

However, her words were a little surprising to An Lin.

He thought that Black Spirit Snake would take everything after all was said and done. After all, Bai Ling couldn’t defeat her, so she couldn’t really do anything if Black Spirit Snake went back on her promise.

“Then about that Holy Trinity Fiendcelestial… Aren’t you going to seal it away for further research?” An Lin asked a little hesitantly.

“There’s not much research value left. I’ve concluded that the human head’s lack of intelligence is its main limiting factor.” Black Spirit Snake heaved a forlorn sigh. “I was only doing my duty as the master of this world by sealing it away. But now, I can let Bai Ling deal with this problem!”

“You can kill it! Didn’t you see how it almost killed all of us?” An Lin glowered at Black Spirit Snake.

What if it was sealed away, only to escape again someday and wreak more havoc?

Black Spirit Snake inched her intricate features closer to An Lin’s face as she looked into his eyes. “I will only act if Bai Ling encounters a life-threatening situation. As for everyone else, including you, what does it all have to do with me? Don’t overestimate your own importance.”

Her voice was slow and methodical, and her eyes glowed with arrogant frostiness. It was as if she were a queen looking down upon the ants over which she ruled.

An Lin silently swallowed. Black Spirit Snake was indeed powerful enough to be the queen of this world, so there were no problems with what she had just said.

Black Spirit Snake had no obligations to be a good person. After all, power was paramount in this world. Given how powerful she was, she could basically do whatever she wanted.

Black Spirit Snake unraveled her serpentine lower body from An Lin’s waist and gently tapped An Lin’s glabella with a slim finger. “It’s important for a person to know their place. Don’t overestimate your importance, understood?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” An Lin immediately nodded obediently before swallowing a Blood Spirit Pill.

“Good boy!” Black Spirit Snake nodded before a thought occurred to her, and she asked, “By the way, did you send that fairy and that black dragon to the summit of the mountain?”

“Huh?” An Lin blinked. With confusion in his eyes, he asked, “Are you talking about Tina and Xiao Ze? You’ve seen them? Where are they?”

Black Spirit Snake stared intently at An Lin’s face, only to discover that he did not seem to be lying. “Heh… I don’t know where they are now, but do introduce them to me if you get a chance to do so in the future. I’m quite interested in them, hehe…”

An Lin: “…”

An Lin silently vowed that he would never introduce them to Black Spirit Snake, no matter what happened.

What he didn’t know was that he had already paid the price for Xiao Ze and Tina’s actions. That inexplicable sword strike Black Spirit Snake inflicted upon him was payback for what they had done at the summit of the mountain…

Black Spirit Snake turned toward the Holy Trinity Fiendcelestial, which was cocooned in green light and waved her hand through the air. A vast power immediately hoisted the Holy Trinity Fiendcelestial into the air before sending it hurtling toward the massive pile of rubble that was once a gargantuan mountain.

“Heaven and earth, heed my call, Almighty Reversal!”

She made a peculiar hand seal, upon which wind and clouds surged between heaven and earth. The countless fragments of the gargantuan mountain were then swept up by an irresistible force before slowly floating into the sky, where they began to fuse together again.

In less than a minute, the gargantuan mountain was back to its original condition, complete with lush greenery and teeming with living creatures. It was almost as if its previous destruction was all but a dream.

All the Return to Void Stage mighty figures drew a massive lungful of air as they stared with incredulity at the scenes unfolding before their eyes.

Reversal and repair were countless times more difficult than destruction. For her to be able to completely reverse the condition of the mountain in such a short time… She had to be a God, right?

It was exactly because of this that awe and veneration appeared in everyone’s eyes as they stared at Black Spirit Snake.

However, An Lin’s expression remained quite indifferent as he had seen far more extraordinary things in the past, like worlds being created. Hence, he was quite desensitized, and this really didn’t seem like much to him.

Aside from that, the power that Black Spirit Snake used was very different from Tina’s power.

Black Spirit Snake was basically fusing her power into the world to trigger resonance with heaven and earth, thereby allowing her to borrow the power of heaven and earth in order to complete a series of operations, and this power could be transferred from person to person.

However, Tina was the master of her world, which meant that she WAS the world.

Thus, the power over the Divine Mirror World was a part of her body and was not transferable.

She could essentially command her world to do whatever she wanted, as opposed to borrowing the power of the world to effect changes within it. As such, her creative abilities were much more powerful than what Black Spirit Snake was capable of.

An Lin felt like Tina was the true master of her world.

She had ascended to a realm where she was truly omnipotent in her world.

After repairing the mountain, a satisfied smile appeared on Black Spirit Snake’s face, and she tossed her black ball toward Bai Ling. “I deliver on my promises. I’m now handing over the control of this world to you!”

She withdrew her spatial barrier and was just about to leave with her phoenix egg when a thought occurred to her. It seemed like it would be a good choice to use her blood here and now to make the phoenix egg accept her as its master!

So many people had gathered here for the phoenix egg.

How awesome would it feel if she made the phoenix egg accept her as its master right in front of all these people? Just the mere notion of it was filling her with excitement!

With this in mind, Black Spirit Snake decided against leaving. She placed the phoenix egg down onto the ground with a buoyant grin. “I think I’ll make the phoenix egg accept me as its master before I leave!”

Celestial Maiden Fei Ying and the others were all heartbroken upon hearing this.

How cruel… Not only did she take the treasure that everyone had fought so hard for, but she was also driving another sword into everyone’s heart!

Was this on purpose? She had to be doing it intentionally!

Everyone was green with envy, and Black Spirit Snake felt even more elated upon seeing their envious expressions.
