Chapter 100: Frenzied Thoughts

When Noah thought in her head about what she wanted, it was almost at the same time that the mana responded to her will. For instance, if she wanted to close the window…

Bang! The window banged shut with a terrifying force. Noah, along with Kyle, was at loss for words as she stared at the window.

A momentary silence ensued, and soon Kyle muttered, “…Be careful not to think about what you want to do with something or someone.”

“I don’t think my mentality is strong enough to block my thoughts…”

What was Noah supposed to do if her thoughts were spiraling on their own? Suddenly, thoughts were soaring in her mind. It’s too much. It’s too much!

“First, eat a lot of things that you like and think only about the things that might not actually happen. As abstract as possible.”

“Oh, abstract.”

Ironically, Kyle’s advice was rather realistic. She tried to execute his instruction, and suddenly, Kyle appeared, holding a cup of hot chocolate. Noah blinked in anticipation, completely ignoring her thoughts.

“…..?”

Somewhere, there was a scent of medicine. Confused, Noah took a sniff, and Kyle took a couple of steps away from her.

“Lenia Valtalere, along with his father, Count Valtalere, was temporarily locked in the cabin. As soon as we arrive at the port of Tezeba, we’re going to be taken to the Bureau of Investigation and Security, and this ship will be immediately searched.”

The smell of the pungent disinfectant was quickly buried in the sweet aroma of chocolate that rose from the warm cup. Noah frowned and called, “Sir, come here for a moment.”

“I don’t know if it’s luck or misfortune, but since Miss Noah’s present condition is an extremely unstable time bomb, the Emperor’s Majesty or the Ministers won’t be able to order you to be put in a dungeon,” Kyle spoke rather hastily instead of approaching Noah.

Are you doing that on purpose or are you ignoring me?

“But when you get there, you’d better pretend to be Eleonora Asil, as you did to Minister Adrian Rossinell. You don’t have to act, you just have to make a lazy face like you usually do.” He continued without a break.

“Okay, I promise you, so come over here.” Noah interrupted, becoming impatient.

Kyle paused. “…I don’t want to go close and die suddenly.”

Noah folded her arms and threatened, “I’m sorry to hear that. Come here quickly because I might bury you in the middle of the ocean. If you don’t come, I’ll go.”

“Then I’ll go check the deck.”

As usual, her threats had no effect. Kyle turned around and headed toward the door.

Noah stood up, clutching her untouched cup of chocolate milk, and at the same moment, the door slammed shut and the lock snapped tight.

“…Whatever.”

Kyle stood still and turned his head. He frowned as he saw her approaching. “You never listen to me,” he grumbled.

“Why should I listen when I’m the master and Sir Kyle is the butler? You should listen to me.” Noah winked at him, swallowing a laugh.

“I’ve been meaning to tell you before, butler is not the word for me.”

Eventually, a laugh slipped out of Noah’s lips. Kyle seemed to have not realized his position yet. Noah grabbed his arm, but Kyle immediately blocked her hand.

Only

He stared at her for a moment and said, “Let me know what you’ve got to do.” But his composure shattered as soon Noah stretched out her arms.

“Miss Park Noah, what are you…”

Noah’s fingers fumbled on his uniform, unclasping the button on the collar of his uniform.

“…doing?”

She ignored his words and continued to undo the buttons. She reached out to his tie to loosen it but failed as Kyle stopped her at once.

“Why, what else do you need? Disarmament is difficult.” Kyle asked, fixing the detached buttons.

“No, I don’t need anything.” Then, Noah thrust her face at him and sniffed.

Kyle definitely smelled like disinfectant.
