Look, it's not bad. The kids are cute, there's cute animals and lots of yummy food. But the MC lets himself get pushed around a lot. At one point the kids get hurt and the only reaction we get towards the person at fault is mild disappointment and a warning to not do it again. However if you don't mind that the MC lacks character, its a good fluffy read.

TLDR: Bad and disappointing MC and an overall lack of action and adventures. Literally if you take out all of the action including the MC then it could probably fit into the length of a chapter. BUT if you’re into books about Cooking then you’ve got yourself a steal, literally the MC cooking takes up like half of this crappy book. This man be cooking like Chef Boyardee. More detailed review below...

This book is a very lighthearted story about our Mc raising two children as an adventurer (yes as an adventurer not a chef). I find this book to be poorly written or distasteful in many areas, in which I will talk about.

The MC. Our Mc is quite hypocritical throughout the story. This is seen when our MC and the kids run into bandits who attempt to kill them, yet our Mc decides to capture all of the bandits alive as he doesn’t want to dirty his hands or doesn’t believe in killing them. However later it is brought up that the bandits will be turned into slaves without rights (which could be called a fate worse than death) to which our “saint” of an MC doesn’t bat an eye as if they weren’t even the same criminals from before. Another major flaw with our MC which particularly irks me is that the story is called “Raising Children While Being An Adventurer” yet our MC barely ever fights himself. Throughout the story the MC is constantly seen leaving the fighting to the children even though the the MC himself is an adventurer. When I think adventurer I think of brave warriors and mages who are payed to fight, yet the MC is often seen cowering behind the children whilst they fight because the children are “having fun”. I get it the author wants the kids to be a major part of the story however the MC himself is a forgettable person who is only really shown cooking (like for half of the novel), if you want the kids to be such a major part of the story then make them the protagonists instead. Also the MC is a bad guardian. We often see the children charging into battle at first sight of an enemy but our MC doesn’t seem to care. Ok I know the children are OP but what if they charge off into a dragon and die, what then. Our MC not only doesn’t discipline the children for misbehaving or doing something dangerous he doesn’t even scold them, he treats it as if it never happened. If the MC truly cared about the children he would scold the kids for their misbehavior and dangerous actions not just reluctantly accept them. I get the feeling that if the MC for say had a (loaded) gun and the children were reaching for it, he wouldn’t just let them touch it but even hand it to them so they can play with it. Just thinking about the MC makes me frustrated much less reading about him. Lastly our MC is seen treating royalty and nobility as if they are higher existences when he himself is. Literally his body is made out of a god’s divine energy making himself transcend humanity, not to mention the fact that he is a retainer of a god (a rare existence in of itself). But when a prince apologizes to him he stops the prince and makes it seem as if he’s unworthy. Some might say that he’s trying not to out himself and his powers, and I can understand that but that doesn’t mean he should make himself seem like an extremely weak and unworthy lower being.

All in all, this book is a disappointing read that frustrates me whenever I read it. If the author wants the kids to be such a major part of the story then make them the protagonists instead of this frustratingly disappointing MC. But if you want to keep the story as is, change the name to “Raising Children As a Traveling Chef” or “Cowering Behind My Children As they Fight For Me”, both titles I find much more fitting.

Hmmm its interesting you know, for me I don't know to the others and its kinda cute and have great story that you may like it. It also have a manga so if you may read there first so that you can visualize each character of the story and it's so catchy for me and still waiting to be updated more and I already read it twice 😂😂 because I love it so I hope it would be the same to very one ....

This is a really nice and lighthearted isekai, its meant as a casual read, some people might not like it, as it does not hit the seinen tag, but i highly recommend it, if you are having a bad day, just pick this up and read it.
The interactions between Takumi and the children are written really nicely, and even though he gets super powerful, it might seem a bit forced but still the story comes off nicely!
