Kill The Hero – Chapter 64

“Boss…”

When he heard the voice of his subordinate, Oh Se-chan, who was having a meal with Lee Jin-ah, put down his chopsticks and picked up a pickle.

“What’s up?”

“The signature has been confirmed.”

“Yeongjongdo?”

“Yes.”

When this was confirmed, Oh Se-chan narrowed his eyes.

“From the way he is acting, there must have been a big shot protecting him, so who is it?”

“The signature of the player who entered the dungeon under the name Jang Un-hyuk was almost identical to that of Jang Chen.”

“Jang Chen?”

Oh Se-chan was surprised by that.

“You mean Yang Ji-hoo?”

“Yes.”

As he heard that, Oh Se-chan scratched his head, as if he could feel a headache incoming.

Then Lee Jin-ah, who had been eating rice as though he was about to starve to death, asked.

“Who’s that?”

“The best rookie under level 50.”

Yang Ji-hoo, he was one of the strongest rookies that Oh Se-chan knew.

“Is he stronger than me?”

“Yep.”

He was indeed stronger than Lee Jin-ah. Lee Jin-ah was one of the followers to whom Oh Se-chan gave his full support. His items, skills and combat experience were all top notch. So the fact that Yang Ji-hoo was stronger, proved that he was a monster.

“You’re saying Kim Woo-jin is with Yang Ji-hoo right now?”

“That’s right.”

“Ha, what? This is nothing!”

Oh Se-chan’s expression showed that he wasn’t worried at all.

“Why isn’t it a big deal?”

“Kim Woo-jin, that guys a monster too.”

“True, they’re both monsters when compared to you.”

“Why did you have to say it like that to hurt my tender heart!”

Of course, Kim Woo-jin was also a monster.

“So that’s the problem. If those two collide, even with my standards I’d be unable to judge the outcome.”

If the two of them truly fought, it would be hard to accurately say who’d win and who’d lose.

“But in terms of skills, he is better than Kim Woo-jin.”

As it was, without external help, Kim Woo-jin should be at a disadvantage.

“In the dungeon, there will probably be more people on Kim Je-hoon’s side.”

While in the dungeon, Kim Je-hoo would not only have the help of Yang Ji-hoo, but also his subordinates.

This meant that Kim Woo-jin would have to face many unknown variables.

“I don’t think so.”

Lee Jin-ah’s thoughts on the other hand, were quite different.

“What are you talking about?”

“What kind of player do you think Kim Woo-jin is?”

When asked this by Lee Jin-ah, Oh Se-chan made an odd expression.

“A player who is stronger than you?”

“Ah, really! He eats until there are no side dishes and no rice, but keeps on eating…”

“Does he eat the air? What are you trying to say? What kind of player is Kim Woo-jin?”

“What does he have more than any other player?”

“Coarseness?”

“He never fights a losing battle.”

“Isn’t he going to fight a losing battle now?”

Lee Jin-ah looked at Oh Se-chan and said with conviction.

“That guy never fights a battle he cannot win. Never.”

Clang!

Kim Woo-jin’s scimitar and Yang Ji-hoo’s longsword struck each other roughly before bouncing away as though they were magnets of the same pole that rejected each other.

“Wow.”

Yang Ji-hoo let out a sound of surprise.

“You have better physical strength than I expected. Where did you get that leather armor?”

Conversely, Kim Woo-jin just calmly stared at him.

‘I tried my best, but this guy could still match me.’

Just now Kim Woo-jin had used his full power to class against Yang Ji-hoo, but they came up even.

‘Our health is similar,’

This meant that the physical stats of Kim Woo-jin and Yang Ji-hoo were almost the same.

It wasn’t that surprising however.

Kim Woo-jin’s physical strength was much higher than others his level. But that didn’t mean there weren’t others like him in the world.

Yang Ji-hoo was definitely not behind him when it came to the quality of their equipment.

‘I’m in a little trouble.’

In fact, if they were to directly compare items, Kim Woo-jin might be at a disadvantage.

There was also something else to consider.

‘Gawain’s Necklace.’

Gawain’s Necklace. As a legendary item, it’s attributes were amazing. It was this necklace that gave Yang Ji-hoo his entrance into the Round Table.

If you only considered stamina, Kim Woo-jin’s situation was more unfavorable.

‘When we start using skills, I’ll be suppressed.’

This was because Yang Ji-hoo’s halo was the Undying Fighter. When it came to comprehensive ability, the Emissary of the Underworld was much better, but when it came to prolonged melee combat, the Undying Fighter was much more advantageous.

Kim Woo-jin knew this better than anyone.

[The Emissary of the Underworld shows interest in this battle.]

Suddenly a notification sounded in Kim Woo-jin’s ear. A notification that could only be heard when players who had gained the attention of their respective halo’s fought.

“Oh, you got a halo notification right? If you weren’t worthy to fight, I wouldn’t get a notification like this!”

Yang Ji-hoo also got the notification.

“If I win this fight, I should get at least one rank up shouldn’t I?”

This meant that Yang Ji-hoo was also a player who received a lot of attention from his halo.

‘It will be difficult to win.’

Kim Woo-jin came to the conclusion that it would be difficult to overpower or kill Yang Ji-hoo as he was now.

‘I’ll have to go all in.’

Suddenly, more Skeleton Soldiers appeared.

“What the..?”

Yang Ji-hoo’s face contorted when he saw the additional nine skeletons.

“Hey, everyone…”

With his face still frozen, he turned his head to look at Kim Je-hoon and his subordinates who were stuck in battle with ten skeletons already.

“Sorry.”

“We’ll finish quickly!”

The two subordinates felt his gaze and responded immediately.

“Hurry up!”

Kim Je-hoon also shouted toward Yang Ji-hoo, though his message was different.

Yang Ji-hoo smiled and turned back to Kim Woo-jin.

“I think it’ll be quite hard, but I must kill you.”

The Skeleton Soldiers seemed to respond for Kim Woo-jin as they started running toward Yang Ji-hoo.

Seeing this, Yang Ji-hoo gripped his sword tighter. It would be difficult to fight Kim Woo-jin along with the 9 skeletons but even under these circumstances, Yang Ji-hoo did not lose confidence.

‘Even if it’s 10 to 1, I need to create a legend every once in a while.’

Rather, he was prepared to enjoy the battle.

‘Huh?’

However, unexpectedly, the Skeleton Soldiers bypassed Yang Ji-hoo and instead went to fight his companions.

‘What?’

A stream of light flashed as Kim Woo-jin swung his scimitar at the distracted Yang Ji-hoo.

Clang!

Yang Ji-hoo blocked the fierce attack and shouted at Kim Woo-jin’s face.

“What are you trying to do?”

However Kim Woo-jin didn’t respond, instead he launched a fierce offensive against Yang Ji-hoo.

Clang!

They began to clash constantly.

Clang!

The strikes of the blades resounded again and again.

‘What is this kid..?’

Yang Ji-hoo found it hard to understand what was going on. He knew that Kim Woo-jin was an expert, but he clearly couldn’t withstand such fighting since his halo appeared to be the Emissary of the Underworld.

How could Kim Woo-jin not know that. It was against common sense to treat himself like a Skeleton Soldier.

‘What the hell?’

While such questions filled his mind.

“Kuk!”

In the distance he heard what sounded like someone holding back a pained scream. It was a strange sound.

How many skeletons had been added to that battle?

‘No way, is this kid..?’

As soon as he heard the sound from the other battlefield, he understood Kim Woo-jin’s aim. (TL: A bit slow there Ji-hoon…really)

Clang!

Their blades clashed again and he was now more convinced than ever.

‘He’s just stalling for time!’

It was as he expected. Kim Woo-jin did not intend to defeat Yang Ji-hoo. After all, Yang Ji-hoo wasn’t his prey.

Kim Woo-jin’s target was Kim Je-hoon from the start, he was just pinning Yang Ji-hoo down to accomplish that.

Of course, he had prepared much more than this.

“Shit! There’s poison!”

As he took a few hits, Yang Ji-hoo shouted loudly to warn everyone.

“Be careful of their weap-…”

At that moment, Yang Ji-hoo stumbled.

“Uh, uh!”

It was as though as soon as he realised that Kim Woo-jin was using poison, the power of the poison intensified.

At that moment, Kim Woo-jin heard a notification in his ear.

[The enemy has been afflicted with Blood Poison.]

[The Needle Snake’s poison accumulated in your body has strengthened the effects of Blood Poison.]

The Needle Snake’s poison which had accumulated in his body was another of trump cards that Kim Woo-jin prepared.

The method was simple. Using the fangs of the Needle Snake he had created two poison daggers. Then, when he entered the dungeon, he stabbed them into his body.

Due to the effect of the daggers, the poison spread throughout his body, which then activated the power of Apophis.

In other words, by stabbing himself with the daggers, he had strengthened the Blood Poison.

‘It’s the Poison King’s secret technique.’

It was a secret that helped the Poison King used to become a terrifying monster.

‘The secret that slaughtered the Knights of the Round Table.’

It was this powerful trick that allowed the Poison King to annihilate the strong members of the Knight of the Round Table.

In front of the secret technique, there seemed to be nothing Yang Ji-hoo could do.

With a black face, Yang Ji-hoo looked up at Kim Woo-jin.

“Unfortunately, you faced the wrong person.”

At that moment, Yang Ji-hoo’s armor began glowing with soft, warm light.

“Protection of the Sun.”

The light completely covered Yang Ji-hoo’s body the moment he completed his spell.

The skill he’d activated was the powerful buff skill of Gawain’s Necklace that could only be used once a day, the Protection of the Sun.

It was at that moment that Yang Ji-hoo finally showed his conviction to fight Kim Woo-jin with all he had.

‘He finally used it.’

It was the moment that Kim Woo-jin was waiting for.

“Retreat.”

Suddenly Kim Woo-jin and the Skeleton Soldiers all ran away without turning back.
