The smile on his wife's face was worth it. Although Shen Yi was aware of what could happen if Lu Xinyi passed the examination, he wondered how he could bear to be parted from her for a long time. Two years was a very long time to be parted from her. He supposed he needed to find a way to keep her by his side while she attends Silver Leaf.

Lu Xinyi hummed quietly as she gave a last stir to her fried noodles before turning off the heat. Shen Yi sat patiently, waiting for her to serve their breakfast. She served first the fried noodles while it still hot and then placed a plate with pancakes with eggs on the table.

Shen Yi quirked a brow to his wife, a smirk threatening to cross on his lips. Lu Xinyi threw a glare on her husband's direction, fully aware what had crossed on his perverted mind.

"Don't you dare utter a single word or else no more sex for you, you idiot!" Lu Xinyi said with a blushing face.

That immediately got Shen Yi's full attention.

"I can't believe you're using it against me, Xinyi. Darling, please don't punish me like that. I need you like the flower needs the rain" Shen Yi replied as he watched Lu Xinyi poured some morning tea for him.

Lu Xinyi rolled her eyes before sitting across him.

"Pervert." Groaning, she poured herself a cup of coffee and started to eat.

Looking at the other side of the table, Lu Xinyi smiled behind her mug. It was nice to have someone looking out for you, taking care of you. She realized that while everyone wants the right person for them, people tend to forget that they also need to work to be the best partner for their loved ones.

She was aware that Shen Yi cares for her deeply. He might not be able to say it on words but his actions were screaming that he needs her like she needs him. How could she be fortunate to meet someone like him in this lifetime?

Didn't she promise to herself that she will never love someone again when she took that cruise vacation? So how the hell did she ended up picking a husband along the way?

Now she was falling hard for him and could only wish he will be there to catch her. It wasn't hard to love him in the first place. The connection they had was deeper than anyone she'd met so far. It was like something clicked inside of her and she couldn't help but be drawn into him.

"So what are your next plans?" Shen Yi's question pulled Lu Xinyi out of her deep thoughts.

"I got three months to prepare for the exam. I think I'll practice my cooking skills and review what was included in their course outline so I'll have an idea of how to study for the written exams," she replied.

Ah, she hoped that heinous math subject wasn't included on her subjects or else she will have a brain bleed and will die from it. Mathematics was one of her weaknesses and she hated it like she hated the bitch that slept with her ex-boyfriend.

"What's wrong?" Shen Yi asked noticing the sour mood on her face.

Lu Xinyi shook her head and continued to finish her meals.

"Nothing. Just thinking what are the subjects included on the course outline."

Shen Yi wasn't done with his breakfast when the doorbell rang, letting them know they had a visitor.

"Are you expecting Xiao Lan today?"

"No. She said she will spend the day with her husband since it's their wedding anniversary." Lu Xinyi frowned before getting on her feet to answer the door. She was about to open it when someone opened it from the outside.

"Why are you taking so long to answer?! You won't even pick up my calls!" A voice of a man roared as soon as the door opened.

Lu Xinyi stood still, surprised that someone broke in and yelled within their home. The man looked insanely familiar. She'd seen that face several times in television and newspapers. He was a few inches shorter than her husband but he was still way taller than her. His hair was the same shade with Shen Yi but was thicker and wilder, unlike her husband's sleek and soft ones.

She was sure about the identity of this man. Shen Xue! Her husband's younger brother!

What was he doing here early in the morning?

Shen Xue who was expecting to see his older brother on the other side of the door was also surprised at what he'd seen. His eyes widening at the sight of a young woman who welcomed him instead of his obnoxious brother. There was a woman in his brother's home! His jaw dropped and almost hit the floor in shock.

What? Wait. How could it be possible? His annoying brother doesn't like to be in a presence of a woman. He was also starting to suspect that Shen Yi was a closet gay.

His ears heard footsteps coming in their way, Shen Xue's sight moved passed of the woman and saw his brother, pulling her beside him.

"Hello, little brother. What brings you here?"
