Married to the Protagonist
Chapter 6: Prenuptial Agreement (1)

The red light hasn’t entered the countdown yet.

Chen Jinyao was quite calm. She maintained a smile that was as fresh as a spring breeze, but on a closer look, there was a faint sense of distance. She rhythmically tapped the side of the steering wheel and urged him, “Hurry up!”

This was the first time Chen Jinyao witnessed Zhou Xue calling Yan Cheng since her marriage.

Just like finding a hidden time bomb, this could be a frightening or an exciting experience. Whether the bomb is left to ignite or is dismantled depends on the person holding it in his hand.

Chen Jinyao had a vague guess as to why Zhou Xue would call.

It must have something to do with the fact that Zhou Chao was expelled from Er Guan last week.

But Zhou Chao must have kept silent about framing Yan Cheng for prostitution and landing him at the police station.

Chen Jinyao knew a thing or two about Zhou Xue.

Those from the elite upper circle who had come in contact with her will describe her in two words: Princess Sickness. Her narcissism came out after she flew onto a rich man’s branches and became a phoenix.

Her arrogance and feelings of entitlement are some of the symptoms of her princess sickness.

Especially when it comes to men who once chased after her skirt, her pride swells indefinitely, without boundaries.

She acted willfully and without reserve as she took advantage of Yan Cheng’s previous devotion to her.

So according to Zhou Xue’s character, Chen Jinyao guessed that she called her former lover to admit she was wrong; or perhaps she didn’t consider the situation that seriously and simply wanted to call him to whine and complain. Chen Jinyao sighed. Zhou Xue should understand that in real life, we shouldn’t burden others too much.

“Look at the traffic lights.”

Chen Jinyao didn’t pay attention to her surroundings until she felt Yan Cheng’s finger poking her cheek. She immediately sat upright and looked ahead. She couldn’t help but take another glance at the man sitting beside her.

The ring tones came to an abrupt end as Yan Cheng hung up the phone.

Only

“No, don’t hang up, I wanted to see if you two still have lingering feelings.” Chen Jinyao sighed with regret. “Don’t you usually hide and contact her behind my back?”

Yan Cheng showed a contemptuous smile. He bowed down, and before his fringe could drop to cover his forehead, his fingers moved even faster towards the screen. After hanging up, he blacklisted the caller directly; this was beyond Chen Jinyao’s expectation. However, as if her reaction wasn’t enough, Yan Cheng opened WeChat, found Zhou Xue’s username, deleted the contact and blacklisted her.

“…”

It should be mentioned that such conscientious behavior coming from a husband is very popular among wives nowadays.

There was a light snowfall outside the window. At this time the streetlight turned green. Chen Jinyao’s words were stuck in her throat; she forgot what she wanted to say before she could open her mouth.

Yan Cheng casually threw aside his cellphone. Overcome with drowsiness, he yawned and stared at her with his lazy, indifferent eyes. After a long time, he asked, “Are you satisfied?”

“What?” Chen Jinyao didn’t spare him a glance and continued to focus on her driving.

Yan Cheng: “I broke up all connections with Zhou Xue, are you satisfied?”
