Summary

Regret filled Valyr as he witnessed Earth before him crumble into nothingness. Although he and the others had done everything they could, their efforts were all for naught as they stood powerless to stop the inevitable, causing billions upon billions of innocent lives to perish in the cold and unwelcoming darkness of space.

Indignant at the outcome, Valyr asked the heavens above to give him a second chance, a chance wherein he would make sure the inevitable didn’t happen. Though he knew that the likelihood of it happening was slim to none, surprisingly…

The heavens answered.

Opening his eyes, he swiftly found out his wish had been granted, in more ways than one at that. Not only was he brought back to the time where everything had yet to unfold, he was also reborn as an NPC in the game where everything started and everything ended.

The True Immersion VRMMORPG, Greater Beyond.

Utilizing his newfound advantages, in conjunction with his knowledge of the game and its various versions from his previous life, Valyr was going to make sure that what happened before wouldn’t happen again. And all of that began…

With him picking up the Blacksmith class.

Someone please reply. Will there be a lot of POVs of the real world or is it very grounded in the sense of its all just the "game" world POV

So it's very grounded for the MC that "this is the world I'm in now" for the majority of the novel?

Yep, very similar to "The Legendary Mechanic"

Nah I dropped that. Wasn't a big fan of MC's relationship with the rest of the cast. It's amazing when he is alone and slightly insane but when he's interacting with any of the cast it's like he's a completely different character and it's just not my cup of tea.

I see. That's okay, everyone of us has some taste. But since u like LOTM, I thought u also love lores cuz SS has them too. Speaking of, can u convince me to read LOTM? Honestly most of my friends said it was good, I'm starting to read but the hype didn't kick me yet. So I'm asking if there's some exciting part after some arduous intro. Try as best as u can to not spoil me. 😂 Sorry

SS is fine and I see why people like it, just personally couldn't immerse myself in the story with the main character being a different person whenever he's alone vs with people. Imo the author is way better at writing insanity. Anyway back on topic, my advice for lotm is to just keep reading. The first tarot meeting is what ultimately got me hooked but if you're past that and still not hooked I'd say try to enjoy it from a different perspective. The first volume (200 or so chapters) is the slowest one and focused primarily around world building so it doesn't fit a lot of people expectations after hearing of later parts but it just needs to be read with a different perspective. The pace also picks up a lot volume 2 with volume 3 being a personal favorite. Trust me this first volume solidifies Kleins character and is the reason why the rest of the novel can be as good as it is and I personally cried from the ending.

Oh actually I'm in the beginning of the tarot meeting. Also maybe I can't still adjust is because the name is Chinese. Tbh I don't prioritize reading Chinese novels cuz; there's a lot of stereotyps, the names are hard to pronounce or remember (for me), the norms is also different cuz many Chinese authors use Chinese culture in their novels that's why I can't understand some of it first, and last but not the least, most of Chinese novels has cultivation arc in it. Like evertime is cultivation time that makes me sleepy. So far I don't remember myself reading Chinese novels. But obviously there are some exceptions. Do u know the "Release that Witch"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the author is Chinese. I found it out later when I'm already halfway through the story. I didn't notice it was a Chinese author cuz his writing is superb and I can understand his world building easily. Cuz his theme is medieval Europe style.

Don't worry he doesn't keep using that name for long and starts calling himself Klein and the names of other characters are also pretty western, for instance his siblings, Benson and Melissa. If that's all thats got you hesitatant definitely keep reading. Also the world building for this story is amazing and I definitely think you'll enjoy it.

In fact the only one I suggested on a different site is invisible dragon and that was more of a meme suggestion.

Lord of the mysteries. It's a great story imo definitely recommend. (Mild spoiler alert) It's a story about someone lying about being a god until he became one.

Man this novel is bland . And there's so much word dumping on just a simple scenario that it gets mind numbingly boring. You can skip 5 chapters and still not miss what you were reading before. MC is so stupid and pathetically ignorant that it makes you wonder how can this dude be a 2nd timer. He doesn't even know some basic stuff that's meant to be known by everyone lol . 150 chapters in and he probably uses his past knowledge couple of times and his weakass finally realises that he needs to stop hiding his abilities after being beaten up and turned into an autistic rat. All in all its still the word dumping for me. Its not like there were a lot of plot progressions or some big thing to hinder the MC. It just the author dumping random sh*t to make the chapters go on and on. Tons of empty dialogues and unnecessary paragraphs with nothing of substance. I don't care how he slept, woke up, took breakfast, took a sh*t and then thought of something he will never do every f*ck*ng time.

Harsh, but you do have a point of the author beating around the bush constantly… It does make it very hard to bother reading at times…

I don't usually do these kind of reviews before finishing an entire novel. But this is the first time in my 6-7 years of reading light novels that I gave up on a story just because there were too many words being said without anything substantial to back them up. People might think that I am p*ss*d because of too much info dumps or too much fillers. I finish novels in mtls and even those machine translated and sometimes incomprehensible novels hasn't bothered me as much as this.

Poison tester here: Its decent enough to pass the time with but there are some issues i had like the MC doing almost no thinking or him being handed buffs for basically free left and right I wrote a review but gotta wait for the mods to accept it.
