Mr Fu, I Really Love You
Chapter 763: But He Was Wrong About That Too

Chapter 763: But He Was Wrong About That Too

At the affiliated hospital of Haicheng Medical University, the hospital where Bai Jinyu worked, Song Yao was still in surgery. Bai Jinyu didn’t go over to say hello. He merely told Lu Jinnan about it, then prepared to enter the operating room…

Lu Jinnan walked towards Lin Nuan and the gang.

Cen Mo was holding Lin Chen’s wrist in a grip. “Let go!”

Lin Chen had pinned him firmly against the wall and had a look of warning in his eyes…

Cen Mo couldn’t get physical with Lin Chen. He was quiet for a moment, then the corners of his lips turned up as he laughed softly. “Lin Nuan, you’d better pray that nothing happens to Song Yao! If something happens to Song Yao, I don’t care if your husband is Mr. Moral… I will make sure you pay an equivalent price!”

“Make things clear! Don’t only say half the story!” Lin Nuan was worried about Song Yao too, but she was angry at Cen Mo at the same time.

Cen Mo remained silent. He sneered, his expression turning even darker as he stared at Lin Nuan.

Lin Nuan didn’t fear to look Cen Mo in the eye. She recalled what Fu Huai’an had said before, about Li Muyang seeking out Cen Mo the night before, and she couldn’t contain her temper.

“Based on what you’re saying, Song Yao’s car accident has something to do with me? She’s my friend, and the last thing I would want to see is something happening to her! Last night, Li Muyang went to find you, and today, Song Yao went to hit him with her car. On the contrary, I want to ask you… why did Song Yao go and hit Li Muyang with her car? Does this car accident have something to do with you?”

“Since you know Li Muyang, it makes it much easier for us to talk!” Cen Mo’s masseter muscle was particularly apparent, and when he spoke, his expression was super dark. “Li Muyang planned on snatching you away at your wedding today! He had the intention of dying with you if he couldn’t obtain you. Song Yao begged me to stop Li Muyang, but I didn’t agree to help her, so she secretly drove to stop him behind my back! Lin Nuan… she went to hit Li Muyang with her car for your sake. It was at the expressway exit on the way to your new residence!”

Lin Nuan’s heart was beating furiously, her ears filled with Cen Mo’s voice.

Bai Xiaonian couldn’t react for a long while either…

Seeing that Lin Nuan’s face was drained of all color, Lu Jinnan gently held her arm and pulled her to his side.

Lu Jinnan remained just as calm as usual. His lips turned up slightly in a cold arc as he removed the top two buttons of his shirt. He then leisurely said, “Mr. Cen, you speak interestingly. Why don’t you say… Song Yao went to hit Li Muyang because you refused her plea to not cooperate with Li Muyang. She did that because she didn’t want to let her lover destroy her friend’s happiness and become enemies with her!”

Lin Chen probably hadn’t imagined that this good friend of his, who was about to hit his younger sister and was pinned upon the wall by him at that very moment, had wanted to join hands with Li Muyang, who had appeared out of nowhere, to destroy Lin Nuan’s wedding.

Cen Mo clenched his teeth as he stared at Lu Jinnan.

There was a coldness in Lu Jinnan’s voice. He gazed at Cen Mo with a gaze that chilled one to the bones and snickered. “Surely, Mr. Cen didn’t think… that we would really let you act as you please in our territory?”

Lin Chen’s gaze turned darker too. His mature and tough facial features were as dim as the weather outside right now. The air seemed to have condensed, and even the bright lights outside the operating room seemed to have turned into sharp knives.

He slowly released his grip on Cen Mo’s shirt.

Cen Mo retracted his gaze and looked at Lin Chen. When their eyes met, he patted his chest, his shirt having been crumpled by Lin Chen’s grip. “Regardless of Mr. Moral or Lin Nuan, I’m not familiar with either of them. Why should I give up my own interests to make sure their wedding goes on smoothly!”

“Then, Mr. Cen, please don’t blame Miss Song’s accident on my sis-in-law. My sis-in-law isn’t familiar with you. It was Song Yao’s own decision to hit Li Muyang. You and my sis-in-law aren’t on such familiar terms that allow you to vent your anger on her without reason…” Lu Jinnan put both hands into his pockets, a cold smirk on his lips. “I will… break whichever hand of yours it was that was laid upon my sis-in-law!”

Cen Mo’s face was grim, his voice sounding as somber as a Raksha that came from hell, murderous intent in his eyes. There was a sinister smile in the depths of his eyes as he said, “So what if I’m venting my anger on her? If something happens to Song Yao, I’ll make every single person in Haicheng… go down and keep her company.”

If something were to indeed happen to Song Yao, everything that Cen Mo had plotted in the country would lose its meaning.

“You sound arrogant. Go ahead and try!” Lu Jinnan didn’t appear fearful at all.

Just as the conflict escalated, the door to the operating room opened, and the doctor came out.

Lin Nuan and Bai Xiaonian rushed up first. “Doctor… how’s my friend?”

Cen Mo wanted to go over but was held back by the wrist by Lin Chen.

Cen Mo turned around, and his gaze met Lin Chen’s.

Lin Chen held Cen Mo’s wrist firmly in a death-like grip, the dark look in his eyes visible one moment and unseen the next under the lighting. “I warned you!”

“We’ve been friends for so many years. You don’t trust me?” Cen Mo’s eyes were fixated upon Lin Chen.

How would Cen Mo not know that Lin Nuan was someone that Lin Chen treasured dearly? Cen Mo viewed his ties with Lin Chen more deeply than others and had thought that Lin Chen would resolutely stand on his side no matter what happened.

Lin Chen took a deep look at Cen Mo before releasing his wrist. One couldn’t tell his emotions from his cold and tough facial features. He merely said this calmly, “Far more than that…”

There was no sarcastic intent. Lin Chen expressed his thoughts straightforwardly.

The Cen Mo of today, in Lin Chen’s eyes, was a man who could even sell his soul in order to reach his goal.

There was an undetectable flicker in Cen Mo’s eyes. He walked towards the doctor, but he didn’t attempt to get physical with Lin Nuan again.

The doctor said that they had yet to find the spot she was bleeding from, but the best neurosurgeon in their hospital, Bai Jinyu, had already taken over the surgery, so he asked Lin Nuan and the rest not to worry.

The doctor feared that the patient’s family didn’t understand, so he went on to explain that Bai Jinyu had maintained a 100% success rate in his surgeries up until now. With Bai Jinyu doing the surgery, the odds that Song Yao would turn out alright were dramatically increased.

After a momentary silence, Lin Nuan was the first to return to her senses and thank the doctor.

The tense atmosphere didn’t get any relief because of the doctor’s appearance. Cen Mo was still looking at Lin Nuan with a terrifying gaze, but ultimately, his rational senses won out over his other emotions. Other than for Lin Chen’s sake, Cen Mo couldn’t very well get into a physical brawl with a woman outside an operating room.

Cen Mo hated Lin Nuan, and he also hated Song Yao…

He had never imagined that in Song Yao’s heart, she regarded this friend of the same sex as being more important than him!

This made Cen Mo, who was falling in love for the first time, feel like he was fighting for his girlfriend with a woman. This was especially so since Song Yao had chosen Lin Nuan without hesitation when it came to a life-or-death moment.

Someone had once told Cen Mo that love was a dangerous drug, and one would lose control of his senses once he touched drugs.

Cen Mo believed it now.

All along, he had thought that where Song Yao was concerned, everything was within his control and that he could deal with it all easily.

But he was wrong about that too.
