Summary

Jay was merely a butcher, living in a small village on the outskirts of a magical world. When humans came of age, they would receive their class from a mana conduit, and begin their lives as adventurers.

“Status” Thought Jay, checking his class.
[Necromancer Level 1]
“...I'm a Necromancer?!” he was shocked. Looking around in fear, he was glad no one heard him.
In this world, this was a monster class - and one of the more powerful monsters at that.
Jay knew he would be hunted down and killed on sight - he was not just a threat to the authority of the nobles, but to all living things.

Jay now had only one option - to get stronger; building his necrotic powers up so that he may one day become untouchable.
Through plotting, secrecy, and sometimes by sheer carnage, he can only attempt to survive in this hostile world.

Join Jay as he struggles against all odds and misfortune, against a world that wants him dead, as he secretly rises and bends this world to his will.

Spoiler AlertI knew he should have killed Matheson, what a Fucking moron. Now I'm only curious what the weapon merchants role is going to be, though honestly it may be his slave that is the one who will be important, not him. Maybe they run into him on the run somewhere.

I dont understand the rating on this novel. The start was great and there was a lot of information in the chapters that even if you skipped a line you thought you missed important information. After Ch. 100 or so there are long parts that are incredible boring with no content that i can just skip 2 chapter and i still understand everything. Especially those fucking pyramids. It feels like a slice of life Anime with no progression.

I have realized this is an actual gamelit or litrpg story, not a traditional action/adventure fantasy story with game mechanics or game magic system. When I say litrpg, imagine some old linear rpg you played, remember the mechanics, there was little plot, a silent nameless protagonist, you would go to meet other characters in town, talk some one liners, build a party of sorts and then go grind in dungeons, maybe kill a boss, came back to to town for some more one liners, then go back grinding and eventually you fight the final boss.

The side chapters from pages of the book are doing the book an injustice, with every one of those chapters I read I find myself less and less open to the idea of continuing the story.

I like this novel. Definitely slow to develop, but I'm sure it will turn out well. But the fact that the MC Spoiler Alert found almost a billion corpses is just too much protag luck for my liking. Other than that, great story.

Spoiler Alert"Wait here, I’ll call out if we need you.” “Mmh” Anya was really sleepy “What the fuck…” Jay thought.. "Fiiine" “Everything ok?” Jay still had a dazed look on his face “..y-yeah. Fine.” he sat on the couch “Are you sure?” “Yeah. Everything’s fine. Perfect. I’m going to sleep.” “Hmm ok then...” sheChapter 55, I am dropping this. The writing is just terrible and the story is getting more boring with every chapter.

So tip. Don’t ####### read the text for face value. Only noob readers do that, imagine the f###ing scene.

Tip? ...anyway it is a boring, uninteresting conversation, the two characters are clearly young and have little to no life experience and that is reflected in their superficial conversations, moreover the mc while young is actually not very clever or witty, the only thing he has going for him is his special class, without his special power he would just be third rate side character, he is just dull. Another thing is the special power/ bone ring that lets mc to store and summon skeletons from another dimension, it is such an overpowered ability, the skeletons not ever running out of energy is another ridiculous thing.

Well then imagine normal dull people by the campfire each having their own problems, bad at dialogue because they are young. Or imagine this scene as a flashback that mc or someone looks back upon in maturity.

I have no issue using my imagination to think about and visualise the characters, the world and various events, but when I read I something boring and dull and thats what pops up in head, boring and dull characters.

The author hasn’t pulled you I. Yet. Wait till chap 130 and the new plot will literally drive you forward. You haven’t even got to the lost city part. Frankly, your in the beginning. The leaches are just a side story.

Do the characters improve? Is there actual character development? Does writing especially conversations and interactions improve or is it still the same as chapter 1-50?

As for writing, it can’t be considered good, probably more to the bad. But As long as you imagine the scenes in you’re head without reading text for face value, perhaps using lost city reference images if you struggle. Then it’s not bad.

End of chap 183 shows character development. Along with new deadly variables, Mathew goes on a self improvement plan uknbenownst to our mc. Although I sincerely hope the academy arc won’t have too much face slapping, I wouldn’t mind if it had some but I would prefer he is in a separate class.

Slowburn novel with defined progression, worth reading if you enjoy worldbuilding, lots of mysteries and lore for the people who want to immerse themselves. Also interesting of how the society in the novel handle people with unique classes such as himself. still in the introductiory stages of the novel (181) but i expect it to become really good in the future

Def a slow one but idk its kinda nice seeing slow progression for once instead of mc just becomes op in 10 chapters and the story becomes a cesspool of predictable shit, though i reccomend not to start reading if u are just searching for a quick story cuz from what i read so for(ch 180) this one gonna be good once it picks up but gotta wait untill there is atleast 1k chapter because, well mc didnt even leave starting city yet 180 chapters in and i expect will start progressing to the new area only 40 chaps from now, anyways looks good, deffinantly difrrent read and omega slow but imo seems intresting :D

I am 30 chapters in and there has been no development of any kind, 0 plot twists. The constant swearing and profanity is tiresome, the level of dialogue is very low, it feels like it was written by a some angsty 10 year olds. At 30 chapters in there is no world building, no character development, magic system is a copy litrpg system used in other novels, completely unoriginal. I can overlook all this however the character interactions are poorly written, mc is frankly stupid and boring and so are others, absolutely nothing of interest happens in the story, when mc meets other characters they just talk about mundane everyday things. The feel this novel has is like watching some dumb reality tv show /big brother where they put a group of dumbest people in house who spent the entire season doing nothing and talking about nothing. I will read few more chapters, I feel like author has potential however at the moment the novel has not been planned out.
