Netheril’s Glory
Chapter 79: A minor Accident.

Bilan felt that she had fallen into a firey pit. And the most frightening thing was that this firey pit was still getting hotter and deeper every moment.

She came to the White Tower after a long journey with the expectations of receiving knowledge and guidance, but the meeting gift her mentor gave her was a long list of manual labour plans and then she was sent to a very small room. Bilan became stunned after seeing this kind of workload and wondered to herself if this mage thought she was a golem or something like that.

Even now, Bilan couldn't believe many things, like, how this official mage was so young, how could this handsome young mage be so terrible, and then there was the fact that in her new room, there was nothing but a single bed.

Although she had heard that many mentor mages used their apprentices as slaves, did perverted things with them, and some even treated the unfortunate apprentices as experimental products, but Bilan never thought that one day she would become that unfortunate apprentice. So now the unprepared Bilan, who had already regarded Punk as a perverted evil mage, was completely out of ideas.

After giving Bilan the order, Punk continued to study the parchment and waited for the little girl to bring the new experimental materials over. Although he had a faint feeling that he was ignoring something in his heart, but he was so focused on searching for knowledge regarding souls in his memory that he had no time to care about this trivial matter.

The brain of an official mage had the kind of calculation speed that was no less than that of a supercomputer. In the case of Punk, with the system's help, this speed was even more terrifying, which was absolutely beyond the imagination of ordinary human. Because of this, he could analyze those extremely complex official-level spell model in less than a second while also thinking of other things at the same time.

But now, Punk was using the full extent of his thinking capacity in order to avoid any blind spots on his own thinking while also using more divergent methods to find new directions for the experiment.

Once again, Punk picked up the old parchment and looked at the two words- "Stability" and "soul fragments" which literally could not be put together in one place. A fragmented soul did not mean that the soul would lose its response to the outside world, it would still have fragmented consciousness and equally fragmented memory, so when it was cut apart, it would also inevitably feel pain. And this pain was so intense that the soul would become twisted, and the end result was Punk receiving a bunch of chaotic and unstable soul fragments.

So, the main culprit that caused the soul fragments to go crazy was the incredible pains caused by the process of it being pulled out of the body and cut into pieces, especially the latter, as some strong-willed creatures could endure being pulled out of their body but almost no one could hold when their soul was being chopped into pieces.

Now Punk was thinking of an idea where soul fragments could be obtained without cutting it, like, if the soul fragmented itself.

With this new idea as the core, Punk soon felt that there were many other new ideas popping up in his mind.

"How can a soul split without experiencing unbearable pain?"

It was undoubtedly necessary to abandon his crude operating method of manual fragmentations. After searching through the knowledge in the memory Inheritance, Punk soon thought of a feasible experimental plan.

In this operation, multiple separate consciousnesses could be artificially produced in one soul, which was something like a split personality from the earth, and then use a spell to make these multiple consciousnesses more and more alienated, and then gradually cut off their connection with each other, which would effectively split it into multiple pieces of independent souls.

Thinking of this highly plausible idea, Punk was very eager to start this experiment. At this time, most of the night had passed, Punk packed up the experiment platform and began to wait for the next round of experiment subjects.

But...

"Why hasn't that little girl brought the materials yet?"

Punk, eager to start the new experiment, became a little impatient and casually used a simple prophecy spell............

"What the hell!"

He threw a newly picked up gem in his hand back on the experiment platform. Punk took a few deep breaths and gently rubbed his temples with his white fingers to calm his extreme irritability. He had already begun to doubt the motive of Lo Lan sending this useless troublemaker apprentice to him.

The information he learned from the prophecy spell made Punk feel both headaches and speechlessness. Now he had truly realized what the legendary saying"anything is possible" meant.

"Those few bold...no… It should be; those few desperate slaves actually "took!" that little girl hostage and escaped."

When Punk went down to the basement, he saw two empty iron cages and a hastily dug out hole with spells on the ground.

After finding out the whole process through the exploration of multiple official-level prophecy spells, Punk felt that the whole thing was really ridiculous, almost like a poorly written novel.

Several slaves, or One should say- A few brave men wanted to escape from the hands of an unscrupulous evil mage and expose the true face of this evil mage to the townsfolk. However, they were trapped in a cage by the evil mage, so they could do nothing but wait for their tragic fate of being used as experimental materials, but today, a great opportunity had come to their door.

The newly recruited apprentice of the evil mage had come to take away some of their companions as the next batch of materials. This apprentice, who was more beautiful than an angel, did not have the powerful spells of the evil mage, so the group of strong men who longed for freedom, under the leadership of a courageous and brave warrior, kidnapped the careless and unprepared beautiful apprentice, and then used a few sharp stones to "force!" her to dug a hole for their escape.

Punk didn't need to use any more prophecy spells to figure out the rest of this ridiculous story. The main reason why the entire prison break could happen was that he was busy with his experiments. And also, the simple, early warning system did not have the function of internal monitoring, which led to this group of rats dug a cave from the inside without getting detected.

And also, a small part of the reason was that the naive little girl Bilan wanted to help these unfortunate slaves escape in the name of being kidnapped.

As for these slaves' silly and ridiculous escape plan...should One be frank, it was a massive joke from the beginning to the end. It could be seen that they had never considered how powerful the prophecy spells of the official mage was.

Punk, while shaking his head, waved his hand and filled in the small cave.

"It seems that I have become a little careless."

As soon as he started any important experiment, Punk would ignore many things that should not be ignored. This small mistake was a timely reminder to him to never let his guard down.

Fortunately, this time it was just a sloppy escape that was doomed from the beginning by a group of idiots. For Punk, capturing this group of desperate rats was as simple as refining an apprentice-level potion.

"Anyway, this group of courageous rats would be a good target to test the Flesh Golem- No. 1's operations."

Punk calmly turned around and walked out of the basement. He also decided that he didn't need to make such tight research plans in this kind of peaceful and semi-reclusive life.

So he planned to relax with a bit of an entertainment program, which might also be helpful in the birth of new inspirations!
