Reincarnated as a Dog with System
Chapter 70: Closing a black gate

Luo Zu started shivering as soon as he saw the green colored creatures pouring out of the black colored hole on the street once again.

"Ahh! Ahhh!" He backed away with a stunned look in his eyes. "No, No, don't come closer!"

The goblins once again almost immediately spotted the small group of humans and started running towards them as soon as they stepped out.

Lu Chen smirked and stepped aside and Guan Ye did the same, following in his footsteps. Luo Zu was instantly terrified. He even pissed his pants in fear and whimpered.

"Boss Lu don't be so cruel. I was just joking. Please please don't do this! At least help me a little!"

Lu Chen, however, refused to budge, making the guy wail even more loudly and fall onto the ground on his butt.

But before the goblin could reach him, three ice spears materialized and impaled its body, sending it to its death.

Qin Hua bit off the other one and the last goblin, which was a bit sluggish compared to the other two and was late to the party, was swiftly taken care of by Guan Ye.

"You are right, we should stand here and hunt for a while." Lu Chen muttered and Guan Ye nodded.

Both of them removed the mana cores from the goblins and wiped the dagger with their fingers, removing the black clotted blood from it. They had a smile on their faces as they could feel themselves becoming stronger.

Absorbing the mana cores was a very comfortable and relaxing experience.

Qin Hua, standing near them, grinned even wider. She got a level up notification and was in a good mood.

She even went to Luo Zu on her own and gave the guy the dagger that she had picked up just now. This was slightly better than the one he had in hand.

Luo Zu on the other hand was completely stupefied. He sat on the ground unwilling to even move from the place.

Everyone around him was a monster!

He had finally calmed down and the wetness on his body made him embarrassed. He couldn't believe that he had actually pissed his pants in front of these youngsters.

Luckily, at least the others hadn't seen him, which made him sigh in relief.

Unfortunately, before this peace and quiet could fully register, sputtering sounds echoed once again and some more goblins popped out.

"Alright! Get Xu Meilin also, let's hunt from some mana cores here for a while. We can get a lot stronger." Lu Chen shouted and everyone busied themselves.

The group quickly took their positions and started killing the goblins that kept coming out of the black gate as if they were ants coming out of an anthill.

Alex and Xu Meiling teamed up and attacked the goblins together. Qin Hua, Lu Chen, and Guan Ye hunted on their own, while the other group ganged up against the goblin, 1 vs 5, and killed it.

They ended up spending about an hour there and harvested quite a good number of mana cores.

Each and every one of them had gotten considerably stronger, but it didn't last long.

Just when they were getting comfortable hunting these goblins, the hole suddenly closed and no more green skinned creatures were stepping out of it any longer.

"Hmm? That's it?" Lu Chen rubbed his chin. Three frozen goblin bodies laid under his feet.

They waited for a couple more minutes and seeing that nothing else was popping out, they got back into the truck and started moving.

The streets were empty again, except for the couple of zombie stragglers which Lu Chen took care of from his driver seat.

Since Qin Hua's speed was the fastest she leaped out of the truck and back into it, not leaving behind the small mana cores. Even though these were almost insignificant for her, the 1 extra stat point was still a stat point.

They turned around a couple more streets and then heard some loud shrieks coming from one of the big houses on the right. This was the posh part of the city and all the filthy rich populace lived here.

But since hell did not discriminate between the rich and poor, their condition was equally bad as the rest of the streets. Body parts and blood were littered everywhere.

As soon as the truck came to a stop about 8 people came rushing towards the two vehicles, crying and begging.

"Please! Please! Wait for us."

"Don't leave us here."

"Please, police help us!"

Lu Chen and Guan Ye stepped down and assessed the crowd and Qin Hua also came along mostly because she was getting bored just sitting inside.

From the other truck, Luo Zu had also gotten down. Everyone was staring at them as if they were their saviors and there seemed to be elderly people and children also in the group.

They had expected military or police to be in the trucks but seeing a few young men stepping out wearing weird shirts, they couldn't help but look shocked.

"Please brother, can you take us along with you? We don't know what happened, suddenly everyone started killing each other."

"Please brother, I have a lot of money. I will give you all the money."

Lu Chen listened to them, deeply contemplating their options.

It was not that he didn't feel pity for these people but taking on these people right now would make things very complicated.

Their group size would considerably increase, not to mention become weaker. Their food and necessities would also have to be shared.

A bigger group will also attract more attention from the monsters.

On the other hand, leaving them behind without helping them right now would only mean death for them. He was not sure if he was ready to do that to the small children and the elders. He also had a family, even though he didn't know if they were alive or not.

So in the end he still couldn't bring himself to simply abandon these people. He looked at Guan Ye, who also nodded in agreement, and then at Qin Hua who bobbed her head up and down. She didn't care.

"Alright, you all can come with us." Lu Chen smiled and then added after a pause. "Oh! But our boss here, Luo Zu, has to agree!"

"What now?" Luo Zu gulped.
