Could have given it 5 if romance was written properly. . . many mistakes done in novel. . . in total it was Harem only in name. . . a good story not written properly and ending was disaster. . . could have been much better ending. . . atleast name of all girl should have been mentioned in the end. . . no wedding. . . nothing. . . given 4 stars because story was good character's were awesome
I can't read it anymore. I give up. I only last 400+ chapters. It had a good start but went very stagnant. It has no decent storyline. The ideas were broken and some were repetitive.
The story is so shitty and idiotic he’s supposed to be a old monster who is good with medical stuff but he seems nothing like his age not to mention the fact that he’s way too cringe to be some old dude like seriously the way he flirts with his harem makes me want to skip the chapter and I usually love the romance and harem stuff but this is just unbelievably disgusting and abnormally cringe
It wasn’t bad for me up till chapter 300, even though there were some points that were translated bad, it’s not like it wasn’t understandable.
The later chapters, like 200 and after started showing some brainwashed concept like “Everyone who disrespected China should die!” and gives ‘everyone is against China even though China is so benevolent!’ vibes which just got annoying to read.
And the thing with racism! I don’t care if there is racism in a novel, because there are actually people like that out there you can base a character on, but the racism is so bluntly come from the author that you can see it effect the main protagonist, with black jokes and some stupid over hostility against Japanese people and selling products for more 100 time more in foreign markets.
The thing that made stop reading was that even after all that, the author makes the protagonist come across as a benevolent doctor going so far as to say that he is saving the ‘world’ they should have just said saving China as the protagonist doesn’t care about anyone beside Chinese people.
And sorry if this is a lil spoiler but I find it so ironic that the protagonist keeps mentioning that the Japanese are stealing all of China’s medical, arts, and tea making knowledge because china is the true source of knowledge making them better and the others are just knock-offs pretty much, but yet if that was the case why did they need the main protagonist who is a 500 year powerhouse in oder to win against not just in medical knowledge and literally all the other competitions too.
Anyway I’m not Chinese or Japanese or American but whole thing was just annoying to read and this just turned into a rant because I was looking forward to reading thin novel but it’s just turn into a disappointment. Sigh 😞
the translation until ch. 50 is good, too good i think
after that its feels like reading another story altogether man but the story wise i just keep skimp over, u know im not a native englosh n its so hard to understand what the author want to express with this translator
it just MTL with extra step
