Very interesting, always wanting to see what would happen next. One of my favorites I would have to say, even though I read all the current 440 chapters in like a week.

Sadly it's the typical author that has never played games before it seems. MC got a passive % increase shield damage title, that can be upgraded easily. Which is a massive benefit if you can upgrade it to 50% or above. But apparently our author here says it's the biggest shit title ever. He enters the first dungeon of the game and tries to block a spell with his shield. . . I think they said he played this game for 30 years. . . But what really made me alt \ f4 this shit was when after the first beta test, where they got to play for only a couple of hours. the next day his new\old friends complain that the leveling is too slow in the game. . . This novel gets 2 stars only because of the handsome cat.

(Part 2) For fist fighting, there are bonuses you can get for that, such as a monk or pugilist class soul. But for a shield, the most you'd get from that are abilities that deal heavy stuns. (Like a knight's shield bash ability.) As for blocking magic with your shield. There are spells that you can block, most of which deal with physical phenomena, like throwing ice at someone, but it doesn't help much with hexes. Not sure what issue you take with that last point though. Most generic RPGs have you at level 10 or even 20 by 4 hours of playtime. How is it not reasonable that someone would find barely getting a single level in that timeframe to not be considered slow in their eyes? And yes, Fluffernutter is a very handsome gentleman.

(Part 1) I've played games before. I'm also a game developer and a programmer by trade. Fighting with a shield isn't viable, the shield damage passive doesn't change this fact. If you read on it explains at some point that shields just don't pull the numbers that an actual weapon would, making the shield practically useless for combat, which is fine because they're considered a type of armour by the system, they're not supposed to deal damage. Shields deal your raw damage, which you get from your strength stat. But so does just punching something with your fists, or whacking someone over the head with a beer mug. Normal weapons also deal your raw damage, but the weapons themselves also have additional damage modifiers, alongside any buffs that may affect weapons.

As the actual author of this story, naturally, I've got to give it 5 stars. Also no, this is not a translated work. It was written in English.

It's a different kind of game novel. It's slow paced but that is the point. You are not jumping multiple levels for the dopamine rush. You're here for the story and it's a damn good story. Personally I like both kinds of novels, depending on mood. There's many options for fast paced but slow seems rarer(could be wrong, don't kill me). So that's a plus for this one.

Kinda good. . . Like although translation or script felt kinda boring, world and story setttings were amazing, which I think are result of inspirations from VRMMORPG setups and soul land series for basic idea. . . use of souls is quite good and adds great feel to the overall novel. This review was written at ch. 82. Mc is a bit emotional and not at all coldhearted, though not a selfless hero too. . . and is a lone player which I find rare nowadays. . . Side characters and humor are great too. . .

MC failed hidden legendary quest because he wasn't high level enough since he spent all his times to research stuff that other ignored and die because of power surge, so he travel back to 2 years before the game release with his photographic memory. The MC seem to be time travel back with a power to see the future power I think, since he was using it to catch the soccer ball and in the fight. He got a overprotective dad and sister, I think the MC dad is the owner of the game and they were developing it. When the game beta phase was release, MC was choose as a beta tester along with a group to trial the game. The game doesn't have stats when u level up and everything seem to be depend on equips, titles, and souls. Soul is like a class, they can switch class anytime they want as long as they have the right soul to make change.
