To all the fellow Daoists who have completed this masterpiece called "Reverend Insanity", I have a recommendation. It's called "A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation" and although not on the same level as the masterpiece "Reverend Insanity" it's pretty close It's world building and power system is top notch with mc's ascension to higher forms of strengths being explained in detail as the author explores the wide variety of chineese culture. The world is vast, more so than you could imagine with creativity filled in it. The emotions play a deep part, the main character's perseverance worthy of respect from Fang Yuan, even though a bit kind, he is smart and not so naive To all my fellow Daoists, i ask of you to give this novel a try "A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation" I went to the trouble of writing this comment twice because my previous one was not published(Can't post more than one comment in less than one hour, so I deleted it and rewrote)

"Morals are merely a facade used by the weak as a tool to justify their actions." I don't truly agree but the uptake is pretty much clear- the cynical view from FYs perspective puts a gaining forefront against the conventional ethics. This has been bugging me for quite some time if I really like this ideal because he has principles of his own too. Tell me something you find yourself pondering on too!

Even if all he said were the truth, he lives in a superficial world while we live IRL, where the things he does cannot and won't be justified This ain't a world where a single man can take on the world and win, trust and mutual respect are more important in our world unlike the Gu world. Even though Gu Zhen Ren did an amazing job to showcase how things will go in a 1 vs billion superficial world, there is no use pondering over the words until and unless you implement them into your actions, which you can't unless you wanna get convicted Thus my reason for not pondering on anything said in RI (I like to write long essays if the subject is reverend insanity) :)

i totally agree! But sometimes the authors really get me thinking. I just extract the "real" part of it and compare the applicable aspects of a certain character's standpoint with people and myself. It has become a habit of mine because before I got into webnovels which are mostly set in a supernatural world, I used to read literary works which were set on reality- and I'm into a bit of psychology. That's why I sometimes engage in these thoughts🙂

Just read chap 182 of Legend of the Northern Blade and they almost said the line! "In Jianghu, neither eternal enemies nor eternal allies exist..." All that was missing was "only eternal benefits" Might just be a coincidence, but hey, it's still pretty cool

I read this novel when I would be satisfied with anything that wasn't mtl, and oh man I loved every moment of it. Ever read such a bland novel that all you'd hope is that the next one to be anything above average? I did People said that the zombie arc was bad but I loved it as well including the three inheritance arc. The only chapter I got my patience tested was when he was just developing his immortal aperture, but I got through it as well after a bit of whining I read ORV before this and after what Dokja did, it was satisfying seeing an mc like this. Even though it has been more than half a year since I've read this, the events are clear in my mind Even though everyone stops, I ain't stopping. Imma worship this everyday🛐

I love this series... My only BIG complaint is that the main character just had to go and choose the most boring power to specialize in, strength. The novel has such an amazing world building and really a cool concept of gaining power, raising magical bugs through a symbiotic relationship to gain their power. The powers can be anything, from time travel to being able to rot people's eyes. Anything, beyond comprehension really. And the author chooses the main attribute of his main character to be: Punch hard. 😑 Why create such an original and magical training system if all the main character does in the end is muscle? Any other fantasy novel has guys swinging swords and punching things. It is a huge waste of potential in my opinion. 4/5

Complete the whole novel, you can't just read a few hundred chapters and say all he does is punch. Also, why does he require swords and martial arts when there is Gu? Aren't they inferior to the essence of heaven and earth?

Brother you're barely 10% in. Also, that is the most efficient and beneficial route Fang Yuan could take at the time, given the knowledge that he possesses. Remember, his character is about efficiency, not style.
