Chapter 58

Finally ! After evil doings in the last two chapters we get a glimpse of what is really going on in JYN’s mind. Except for Krina and Liera I think all of us started hating JYN, but here he looks a bit sad !

Chapter 58

The situation was quite volatile in the morning.

The shareholder’s meeting was originally supposed to start at 10 but was delayed.

Jiang Shi Jun , who was supposed to be sitting victoriously in the Xu building was now in the Li Bo office, and he was furious.

In his hands he was holding the contract that Jiang Yu Nan had just brought

Jiang Shi Jun was more and more incredulous as he read the contract. As he finished reading it, he sound not help but mercilessly bang the contract on his desk.

At the same time, he stood to from the desk, and with a trembling finger pointed at the signatures on the last page of the contract.

Jiang Yu Nan and Yan Liang had both signed the contract and stamped their seals. Angrily, Jiang Shi Jun asked, “ How could you sign this contract?”

“This is ridiculous ! “ Jiang Shi Jun could not even laugh. “ No wonder yesterday you suddenly stopped the attacks in the share market and the media suddenly started broadcasting the news of your impending wedding reception. I did think something was fishy but then I thought …”

Jiang Yu Nan was sitting in a chair in the opposite side of the desk. The office had a heated , angry atmosphere , but he did not move. With his arms crossed, he reckoned back slightly to look at Jiang Shi Jun. “ I just came to inform you that I have signed this contract, that’s all.”

It was clear Jiang Yu Nan thought that any further explanation was unnecessary.

Hearing him, Jiang Shi Jun shook his head, “ This was not our original plan.”

Jiang Yu Nan only pressed his lips together , but did not answer.

At this point , Jiang Shi Jun had no other power but to appeal to him earnestly. “ I spread the fake news earlier that we were planning to transfer our target to the smaller shareholders and get their power of attorney so as to divert her attention from the larger shareholders. All her funds would be stuck and would weaken her competitiveness. And , of course, she could no longer hinder our acquisition of the stock from larger shareholders. I obviously need to use the major shareholders to kick her out of Xu. What is this contract right now?”

“……” “…”

“Even the old folks on the board, her supposed allies, have changed sides. After today’s meeting, the Xu house is finished. And then you do something like this, isn’t it equivalent to providing her a way out ?”

Jiang Yu Nan turned a deaf ear to his berating and continued walking, Jiang Shi Jun stood and watched him walk further and further away

He was still in a trance, trying to understand what happened, “ Are you doing this now to punish me for telling you about the affair between her and Lu Zheng ?”

Jiang Yu Nan paused.

His subtle hesitation raised Jiang Shi Jun’s hopes. “ Or do you think that if so this last act of kindness, you will regain something ? Although you were kept in the dark when I used Xu Ziqing to spread false news and did all those other things that followed, don’t forget..the stock market manipulations were your masterpiece. “

“ So you think that if you force her to surrender to you, rather than forcing her to die, she will be grateful to you ?”

Jiang Yu Nan’s back was to him so he could not decipher the slightest emotion. Only his hands hanging by his side stiffened slightly.

This young man with a deep heart was still maintaining a calm façade. Jiang Shi Jun tried his last attempt to stir some emotions in him, “ It seems that you are not aware how hard hearted women can be. As long as you love them, they will find a thousand ways to torture you.”

H seemed to laugh as the last traces of hope left his eyes, bit by bit,

Xu Building.

As Yan Liang and Jiang Shi Jun were both absent, the shareholders meeting was postponed to 11. Was the meeting going to be canceled or delayed once again? Nobody knew the answer.

The shareholders were looking at their watched and muttering to each other.

Some people really did not want to wait. There were grumbles across the room , “ When are we going to start ?”

The words were just out when the door was opened.

Jiang Shi Jun’s assistant opened the door .

The first one to enter was a dour faced Jiang Shi Jun.

The two directors sitting near the door silently questioned each other as they looked at Jiang Shi Jun’s expression.

Both raised their eyebrows, then looked at the door as Yan Liang entered. Their hearts sunk.

Because one of them was Chen Shu, the erstwhile ally of the Xu family. It was true what they said.. there were no eternal friends, no eternal enemies, just eternal self interest..

Two rivals entered at the same time, the audience was silent g.

Jiang Shi Jun stood at the front. His eyes swept the assembled audience with a “king of the world attitude.” Then he turned his head towards Yan Liang and said, “ You say it.”

The viciousness under the calm appearance was evident. The only reason he had given her the right to speak was so she would be humiliated in front of everyone and the Xu’s dignity would be torn to shreds.

Yan Liang looked at the crowd, then at Jiang Shi Jun. She took a step back from her empty seat at the table, clearly showing the traits of one who was being humiliated. Her hands and feet were ice cold .

“ As a representative of my deceased father, Xu Jin fu and my mother, the temporary chairman of the board, I would like to announce that my mother is giving up the chairman’s seat. We would like to recommend the name of …Jiang Shi Jun…..”. Yan Liang stopped, took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she calmed down the last traces of her struggle , “ … as the next chairman of Xu.”

Pandemonium broke out in the conference room.

“She even has the leisure to plan her wedding? After handing over the company completely..”

“She has even been to the old man’s grave. She has managed to lose everything he worked for inhis entire life. If it were me, I would be too ashamed to put flowers on his grave..”

“Your sister is the reason Zhou Cheng is in jail, how can you invite us to the wedding?”

Meanwhile, the woman in the eye of this storm of negative public opinion was getting ready for a wedding photo session with her husband in a resort in the outskirts of the city.

Jiang Yu Nan knew the senior management of the hotel well. They had arranged for security around the resort to stop reporters from stirring up trouble.

Yan Liang was familiar with the hotel. This was not far from the best golf course in the city belonging to the Ming Ting group.

Two sets of photos had already been shot. Yan Liang was back in her room putting on the wedding gown . Some others were helping her as the wedding gown had a long train almost two metre long train

There were a total of four sets of wedding attire. All were of different style but all were magnificent. After nearly half a month of customization, the gowns had been flown back home for today’s shoot.

(Miumiu : This s really a distinctive feature for Chinese/Taiwanese weddings. The photo shoot! I remember seeing a couple in Prague freezing in the cold for the photo shoot.)

Yan Liang looked at herself in the mirror after putting on the gown. The assistant enviously praised her, “Each one is more beautiful than the other.” Yan Liang didn’t even smile.

Secretary Li was responsible for the photo shoot and the selection of the venue . As the make up artist was putting the final touches on Yan Liang, he knocked on the door, “ Mrs Jiang, its almost noon. Do you want something to eat?”

Yan liang turned a deaf ear to his question. Once the make up was done, she stood up straight , picked up her train and walked out of the room.

As she went out, she passed Secretary Li at the door but paid no attention to him. Li was stunned and then embarrassed and coughed slightly to hide his embarrassment.

She had walked less than two steps when she saw Jiang Yu Nan sitting on a bench opposite the room.

She slowed slightly, the two hotel employees carrying her train behind her were preparing to stop as well. But Yan Liang had nothing to say to her husband, In the next second, she hastened her pace.

“ Lunch is arriving. Sit down and eat first”, Jiang Yu Nan suddenly called out.

Yan Liang walked in front of Jiang Yu Nan. She stopped, gave him a scornful glance and continued, never looking back even once.

The photographer was having difficulty keeping pace with her, but also thought about smoothening things over. “ Mr Jiang, you have your lunch. I will shoot some solo photos of your wife at the venue.”

Jiang Yu Nan did not speak. When the photographer thought he had acquiesced, and was about to walk away, he suddenly called out, “Wait!”

The photographer turned back. Jiang Yu Nan stood up.”Its cold outside. In between shoots, make sure she puts this on.”

Then he gave him a jacket, “This is a staff coat. I’ll trouble you to carry this to her.”

The photographer nodded vigorously and took the jacket. He could not help but think…. this couple is really strange.

The cold was biting

Yan Liang was wearing a wedding gown with a bra style bodice. Her skirt was flying like an undefeated army banner.

They were in between shoots. The staff were busy adjusting the lighting as she rubbed her hands and looked at the green meadows. The meadows looked like summer had arrived but she could feel the chill in her body.

At this moment, a warm jacket covered her shoulders. Yan Liang shrugged her shoulders and looked back and was stunned.

In her startled gaze, Lu Zheng’s eyes flashed slightly, “ I heard you came here for the wedding photo shoot. I was in the nearby golf course today.”

“……” “…”

He finally sighed, “ I don’t know what to say, I just wanted to see you.”

Saying this, he took a box from the hands of his assistant. It was a beautifully wrapped box. He handed it to Yan Liang and gently said, “Congratulations on your wedding!”

Congratulations on your wedding…

How ridiculous these four words were! His tenderness towards her was readily evident; her heart almost shattered.

And such a wedding gift …

He said he was just here on a whim …

Yan Liang tightly pulled the sides of the jacket around her tightly. Without his jacket, this man was only wearing a thin shirt in the cold. Even though her mouth was stiff at first, finally she smiled a bit.

Looking at her smile, Lu Zheng suddenly thought of something, “ One more thing..”

“ Do you have a coin?’

Yan Liang was surprised.

Holding another coat, the photographer walked to Yan liang. “ Do you want a coin?”

He soon provided her a coin.

Taking the coin from Yan Liang , Lu Zheng smiled at her.

As she smiled back at him, he said, “ On behalf of the Ming group, I inform you that with this payment, the company forgives your 1 billion dollar debt…… …

Whose smile dispersed like tiny particles in the blowing wind?
