Sage Monarch (Sage Emperor)

This is a fairly typical cultivation story (which may either be a good or a bad thing, depending on your personal preferences), and though parts of it are interesting and well-executed, on the whole, I just can't really recommend the story. Firstly, the author is very inconsistent about stuff, and often repeatedly contradicts themselves. For instance, a character will 'discover' something and be surprised by it, even though it was already mentioned in their POV hundreds of chapters before. Secondly, the ending is genuinely atrocious. It's absurdly rushed. There isn't any big momentous battle with the MC's enemies, or some desperate struggle for victory. Instead it's basically just 'they won, the end'. It's incredibly unsatisfying and gives no payoff whatsoever. More broadly, the resolution to basically all major plot threads is rushed and haphazard. The MC spends a thousand chapters looking for some missing friends and relatives, only to brush over them being found in a couple of chapters, or even a couple of paragraphs. Thirdly, in tandem with the above, there are some authorial decisions which are very questionable. Empire building is great and interesting, but I really don't see why a random sideplot about Confucian scholars plotting against the MC, and a bunch of other minor stuff, should get more attention than the actual main plot. The author clearly struggles with pacing. TL;DR - The author makes some weird decisions, and there isn't much payoff to the story. There are some very cool techniques and treasures, and some really good plot arcs, but they don't make up for the lack of pacing or a decent conclusion, or the very poor attention to detail.

Masterpiece. . . It can rival with darkstar of legendary mechanic. . . story process wuth perfect. . There are many scene where blood boiled also NO harem. 🥰🥰🥰

Loved it it was a nice time reading it I wished it continued but all good things must come to an end. Overall it’s pretty good read I’ve seen way worse before if you have time I would consider reading this.

The only interesting thing about this story is the Mammoth. Normally if it's not the Dragon King of all the heavens, its the Rat King of all heavens. This time it's the God Mammoth. This is your standard Wuxia novel oh ......... and Never Ever forget because in case you forget You Will Be Reminded that the God Mammoths Feet can "Crush Hells."
