Short, Light, Free

The stories were short but interesting, the ideas were unique and one of a kind, the characters were interesting and strangely realistic. It left much to ponder and fantasize after the each story. And lastly every story has infinite possibilities. I definitely enjoyed the ride. Thanks author, Ps:I think your name is cool.

This is an Anthropology novel. (Collection of short stories. ) And yet, this is one of the most interesting literary fiction's I've read in awhile. Each chapter tells it's own unique and one-of-a-kind story, leaving you speculating about the futures of the characters in the novel. Though one of the major upsets of the novel is the fact the most of the Author's emotions aren't in the writing due to the translation from Chinese to English. But I think that it just gives the reader more immersion. When I initially read the novel, I was dissapointed by the writing due to the lack of emotion, but I realized something. What if I just ignored the emotionless translation and fantasized about the characters in my head? And by the time I did try to fantasize, I was immediately hooked. Each chapter gives you a base plot-line for you to add on to in your head, so I was already cooking up a story worth of an Pulitzer award. All in all, 8/10 due to the translation, and 10/10 for the endless daydreaming it gave me when I was wating at the cashier line at the supermarket. (≧▽≦)
