It's really good. I love the story. It's truly heartwarming. From the couple's romance and to the familial love, the story is really nice. Worth the read

This novel is very good at being exactly what you expect from this kind of story, and nothing more. It's certainly written better than other books of this genre that I've read as far as writing style goes, but it doesn't tread any new ground storywise. The pacing is pretty standard, because the plot is often derailed by copious amounts of sweet nothings, but that's nothing new for this genre either. The male and female leads are your generic handsome CEO and struggling actress, and they have a generic secret relationship/marriage, though I do like how they have prior history together unlike some stories where the FL literally revenge marries the first person she bumps into who just so happens to be the richest, most eligible bachelor in all of China, and who incidentally is also incredibly sexy, has an eight-pack, and has never gotten within six feet of another woman. I do however find the premise poorly executed. As the synopsis states, the FL has been defamed and blacklisted and everyone knows it. The FL was blacklisted at the beginning of the story because of a scandal she was framed for, and very quickly proves her innocence, but for some inexplicable reason, she remains blacklisted. Usually, a poorly executed premise won't hurt the story too much, but this problem remains for quite some time. No one wants to hire her, and all of the internet hates her because of her bad reputation, but there seems to be no reason why her reputation is so bad. Any scandal is quickly and publicly disproven, and anyone who targets her is quickly and publicly discredited. The only real problem mentioned is, prior to the events of the story, the FL was an actress who could not act. But that's no reason for the sheer amount of flak she receives, especially considering she was a pretty new actress who had only done supporting roles. Every time someone new comes out to defame the FL, everyone and their mother shows up to heap abuse on her. Even when no one is specifically targeting her, the internet still turns out in force just to shower her with hate. If some other actress does something, the FL is brought up out of nowhere just so people can insult her. And if anyone publicly associates with the FL in any way, the internet instantly explodes with people calling for a boycott. Now, this is nothing new for stories in this genre. Authors seem to love giving their internet NPCs the proverbial slap in the face when the FL proves them wrong with her awesomeness. Some stories have entire chapters of random, nameless people apologizing to the FL, and declaring their status as a new fan. It's basically expected in stories like this that the FL will have to endure the enmity of the internet for quite some time, and that seems to be the only reason why everyone hates her in this book. Because it's expected. Because that's what this novel does. So, if all you're looking for is a story that does exactly what you would expect and nothing more, then this is the book is for you.

it’s pretty good, with strong male and female leads. although the characters are pretty cliche (with a rising celebrity and a mysterious, powerful man as the background) but the writer really did a great job writing it, and kudos to the translation team as well for a very good translation (altho there are some inconsistencies towards the end of the novel. there’re mini-arcs in the story and they show how smart and decisive the female lead is without being dependent on the male lead. the relationship between the leads is very cute and sweet. the characters introduced throughout the storyline are also not too much (as in not many characters introduced at one time that I’ll have to remember again and again while reading- yk how some novels have too many side characters to keep up with) really enjoy how the story tackles many issues (e. g patriotism, cyberbullying, assault, domestic violence, etc) also the relationship between the FL and her fans are really adorable and heartwarming (which is a first that I truly enjoy among other novels with a similar story) however, I do sometimes feel confused with the FL’s thoughts and decisions. especially when the whole shitshow with Vera (her former agent at this point) went down. honestly, that twist is the most painful one, never thought Vera could be so insecure and stupid enough to hide things from fl and cause such a big misunderstanding that ended up severing their friendship. i don’t know if i’ll ever get over that arc. their friendship is wholesome and it’s nice to have a healthy relationship between a celebrity and her agent for a change. I have to admit that yes, Vera was wrong to do that, but at the same time, the fl is also at fault. although I’m all about women's empowerment, but the way she handled the crisis was always to instruct Vera to do this and that, and she just did whatever she felt like doing but she never explain her reasoning behind her decisions which led up to the misunderstandings. However, thankfully the writer has a beautiful conclusion for both of them and made them friends again! And the extra chapters dedicated to FL’s brother’s love life are very much appreciated! But I’m also curious about the ML’s nephew’s love line haha p. s I felt like some people might find some words used in the novel to be a little offensive so read it at your own discretion. it was never an issue for me before because yk you’re just reading novels to distract yourself from your own world, so i never cared anything about those things. but now with so many people finding everything to be offensive, it kinda bothered me as well.

I like this novel because it present a simple and slow plot line with not so many complications. And the MC is a smart one and know to fight back with class.

The story is good. The plot isn't twisted around and wasn't rushed. The Fl is very smart and strong and the ML is very understanding not possessive like some ml's.
