Chapter 52: Confession

Right now, Fang Lin was feeling very giddy. He felt as if he became closer to Tang Ya. Of course, not yet at the level of very close friends, but he felt that he was getting closer to that.

“I wonder how will Tang Ya react once she sees my true body? Wil she be aroused? Mesmerized? Or feel betrayed?” Fang Lin fearfully mused to himself.

From what Fang Lin can see, Tang Yao hates those who lie to her the most. Fang Lin knew that if he wanted to gain Tang Ya’s trust, he must tell the truth to her. About who he was and what he was going to be. Fang Lin sighed, putting this matter at the back of his head first.

Fang Lin and Venomshade then followed Tang Ya as they took their seats on the spectator stands.

The match between Lin Xiang’s group and Shadowbane’s group had already started.

“Shadowbane?” Fang Lin frowned to himself as he heard this name. “This name makes it sounds like this person hates all shadow essence practitioners.” Fang Lin then looked at the said Shadowbane.

Shaodowbane’s attire seemed to really scream that its wearer was against all kinds of shadows. Shadowbane was a 20-year old female with black hair reaching until her waist. Her creamy white skin matches perfectly with her snow-white robes. She also wore white boots, with white bracelets on each of her arms. On her neck, she wore a golden amulet that lets out a brilliant light. On her right hand, she held a 2-meter long golden staff with a fist-sized white gemstone on its end.

She also had thin, red lips and perfectly shaped nose which complemented with her innocent eyes. Her face could have been the symbol of innocence and chastity if not for her body. Her robes failed to hide her breasts, which was the largest one Fang Lin ever saw. Her thin waist and tight buttocks were also a sight to behold. This all led to an innocent looking woman with the body of a seductress.

All in all, Shadowbane’s abilities seems to be related to light, as the light essence is the antithesis of the dark essence. Shadow essence on the other hand, is a specialized type of dark essence. Thus, it will make sense for the light essence to oppress the shadow essence too.

Flanking Shadowbane on her both sides were two 2-meter tall robed persons. Their golden robes managed to hide their massive frame, while their golden masks also hid their facial features. From the way they move, one can infer that they could be guards for Shadowbane.

Upon seeing his enemy team, Lin Xiang frowned as he said slowly “What is someone from the Church of the Divine Light doing here? I thought your cult vows to be powerful only for the masses? Your cult even sent you from the God Continent. What happened for them to send someone to join a sect, of all things?”

The Church of the Divine Light was one the major powers in the God Continent. Its power can be considered to be at the same level as any of the members of the Eight Sects, Five Families and Three Empires.

The followers of the Church of the Divine Light believe in the worship of light. They believe that worshipping the light itself will allow them to be blessed with the divine abilities and be protected by the light deities. As such, the Church of the Divine Light had been comprised of Light Essence Godly Ascenders.

Countless practitioners from the Church of the Divine Light viewed those with the dark essence as their foes. As such, the Church had labeled all the darkness essence practitioners as heretics and hunts them down. This brought the Church into loggerheads with the assassination organization of Yao’er.

“What do you mean cult! The Church of the Divine Light is a benevolent church! You must be grateful to have met us, the envoys sent by the church itself!” Shadowbane then raised her staff and brought it down to the ground. The gemstone at the end of the staff let out an overbearing amount of light essence that flooded the arena.

Fang Lin then felt that Yao’er went out of his shadow. She tightly hugged Fang Lin’s legs as she began trembling at the presence of the light essence.

“Unnnn… Master, that light scares me. I feel like it wants to eat me up.”

Fang Lin then gave an angry look towards Venomshade, who looked a little excited upon hearing the cute and adorable Yao’er say such a thing. Fang Lin turned towards Yao’er and patted her head.

“Master cannot leave now ok? If we leave now, maybe that Shadowbane lady detects you. Once she detects you, she might hurt you. So be a good girl and stay in my shadow ok?”

“Unn! Yes Master!” Yao’er rapidly moved her cute face upside down as she showed her agreement. She then fused back with Fang Lin’s shadow.

After calming Yao’er down, Fang Lin looked back towards the incoming battle. But what he saw made him go pale. Shadowbane and her two teammates were looking directly at him, as if they saw Yao’er appearing.

“Crap! This is not going to end good!”

At that moment, Shadowbane and her teammates attempted to leave the stage, rushing towards Fang Lin. But before they could leave, Chu Yang blocked their way.

“According to the rules, a team can only leave the arena once the battle is finished.” He said coolly.

“Che!” Shadowbane had no choice but to go back to the battle. “It seems like I need to clean up some trash first before I can slay a ‘heretic’.” Shadowbane then licked her lips as she slowly lifted her staff in the air. Her other teammates then let out swords on their right hands, both glowing with a golden hue.

Fang Lin felt a massive headache incoming on his way. His master had just left, then he had to deal with Tang Ya and Fang Xiushan. He also has to keep his bloodline a secret. Now, he has to worry about two powerful organizations who were after Yao’er. It seemed like the Immortal God Sect will be hard-pressed to protect him in the future.

He then looked at the battle arena. He just hoped that Lin Xiang’s team would win and manage to eliminate Shadowbane’s group.

That would give Fang Lin some time to have a plan against these three church envoys who discovered Yao’er.

But before they could start the attack, Shadowbane and her teammates felt something in their throats. Shadowbane touched her throat, trying to feel what was wrong. Suddenly, her vision shifted and she was now staring at the sky.

“What happened to me?”

It was then that Shadowbane saw a headless body in front of her that unceasingly spouted blood from its neck. It was her own headless body. She then looked at her teammates, and she saw that they were decapitated too.

‘Why did this happen to me…..”

Before darkness filled Shadowbane’s vision, she saw the culprit of everything. She saw Lin Xiang with the dark essence emanating from him. He held two black knives, both of them dripping with blood.

“All Hail the Divine Light…” It was Shadowbane’s last thought before she died.

The audience were all shell-shocked by what happened. Chu Yang frowned towards Lin Xiang, who already lost his outgoing attitude. He looked like a seasoned killer now, who was ready to strike anyone down.

“Is it really necessary to kill them?”

“I am of the shadow, and they are of the light.” Lin Xiang coolly replied. “We are fated to kill each other. Besides, it’s not my fault if they cannot dodge my attacks. They were just too weak, that is all.”

Chu Yan found no way to rebuke Lin Xiang. He just sighed as he said “For the last match of the Semi-finals, the winner is Lin Xiang’s group!”

This time, nobody cheered for them. After some minutes of awkward silence, Lin Xiang’s Group left. Fang Lin’s group then followed suit. After that, all the spectators went back to their respective quarters. What they will wait for now is the group finals for tomorrow.

The corpses of Shadowbane and her teammates have been brought away silently by Chu Yang.

Around the afternoon, outside the Immortal God Sect

The gray man carefully read the report written by Fang Guo. Fang Guo just stood at the sides, looking at the gray man nervously.

“Home-erotic dreams? What the heck is this?” The gray man stomped the report with his feet angrily. “I gave you an entire day to investigate and that’s what you got? That Fatty Lin likes to get rough with males? Come on!”

“But that could be a helpful inform-”

“Helpful? How could this s*it be of any help huh?”

“Well…”

“You know, I have an idea.”

Fang Guo immediately felt chills upon hearing the gray man say this.

“You said that he likes men getting rough with him? Then go and seduce him tonight! Maybe you can get some information from him during your pillowtalk.”

“Please no!!!”

“That or your life.”

“I shall do as you wish…..”

“Haha good. At least your info is worth something now.”

Later that night, at Fang Lin’s place.

Fang Lin and Tang Ya were busy talking about what happened earlier.

“I did not expect Lin Xiang to be that strong.” Tang Ya muttered to herself. “What do we do now?”

“Let me deal with him. You and Venomshade shall deal with the twins.”

“Are you sure? What if he kills you?”

“Are you worried about me Tang Ya? That really makes me happy!”

“Hmmph, why should I get worried about you? Go die then, pervert!”

Fang Lin just laughed after hearing this flustered response from Tang Ya. Suddenly, he had a grave expression on his face. He then said

“Actually, Tang Ya, I need to confess something to you.”

“Hmmph, that confession better be good.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Lin smiled. He then undid his body transformation. A few seconds passed by, and Fatty Lin had been replaced by the Yang body Fang Lin. His handsome face and his perfectly shaped muscles had been shown in their full glory in front of Tang Ya.

Tang Ya just stared at the real Fang Lin with her eyes wide, with her cheeks slightly flushed. Her breathing rate quickened as she processed the godly visage in front of her. She then heard Fang Lin speak with his enigmatic voice.

“I think I have fallen for you, Tang Ya.”

“…….”

The only sound that can be heard outside was the footsteps of a nervous man approaching Fang Lin’s house.
