Chapter 442: Agitation

“Oh come on Genie.” The old man said as he tried to console the obviously traumatized woman. “This will be the last, really. I assure you that after this matter, you can already resign peacefully.”

“Oh?” After hearing what the old man said, Genie narrowed her eyes in interest as she said,

“So whatever the Dreamworld plans to do will be related to the Final Trial itself?”

“Exactly.” The old man said as he gave Genie a grave nod. “I cannot tell you that much now, but the reason for the Dreamworld trying to make a move is that earlier, someone greatly agitated the River of Time.”

“Wait, the River of Time?” Genie’s look became agitated when she heard what the old man said. She gave him a suspicious glare as she said,

“Are you sure that the River of Time had been agitated earlier? You know that it is very hard for anyone to cross that River, let alone agitate it! Those who can are very powerful, but they are always monitored by other powers! And now you are telling me that someone managed to do that?”

“I am telling the truth!” The old man said as he huffed angrily. “And mind you, that person who agitated the River of Time is in the Final Trial!”

“What?” This time, Genie did not care even if this old man was her master. She shook him by his shoulders as she asked him,

“You knew that someone like that is here, and yet you still allowed that person to be in the Final Trial? What if that person messes everything up?”

“Don’t worry Genie.” The old man replied confidently. “I know what I am doing by putting that person in the Final Trial.”

“Don’t tell me...” Genie gave the old man another glare as she said,

“You are using that person as bait for the Dreamworld?”

“As expected of Genie, you have guessed right again!” The old man said as he rubbed his shortened beard proudly.

The old man proceeded to pat Tang Li and Wang Mei’s head as he continued talking.

“I have been monitoring this person ever since I realized this person’s existence. I saw everything that this person did, even the way that this person agitated the River of Time. Then I noticed that after this person agitated the River of Time, the whole Dreamworld started to act weird.”

The old man then pinched the cheeks of Tang Li and Wang Mei as he continued talking to Genie.

“By weird, I mean that the Dreamworld started to gather some of its forces, and from my analysis, these forces will do anything to obtain the person that I was talking about earlier!”

“Oh!” Genie had an enlightened expression on her face as she immediately understood everything.

“So when you told me that the Dreamworld will do something at the Final Trial later, you are referring to the Dreamworld attempting to kidnap the person who agitated the River of Time, who coincidentally, was at the Final Trial too?”

“Yeah, that sums it all up.” The old man replied as he tossed Tang Li and Wang Mei high in the air, eliciting squeaks of delight from them.

Solomon, who was looking at the two enviously, was noticed by the old man. He approached the sulky baby as he asked him,

“Hey little baby boy, are you sad?”

“Yesh!” Solomon quickly replied as she looked at the old man smiling at him kindly. “Can you make Sholomon happy?”

“Of course I can!” The old man boasted at the expectant baby. “After all, I am the very powerful! I can do anything that I want here!”

“Really?” Solomon’s eyes sparkled as he began to look at the old man with admiration. “Then can you give Sholomon weaponsh?”

“Of course I can!” The old man said as he scooped Solomon up. The old man then flew away, bringing Solomon, Tang Li, and Wang Mei with him.

The old man did not forget to say some more things to Fang Yu before he left.

“Genie, what you only need to do later is simple. Once you saw that an abnormality happens because of the interference of the Dreamworld, you will be the one to fix these abnormalities. As for the forces of the Dreamworld that will try to attack later, it will be the Underworld Soldiers that will deal with them. Oh, and leave the babysitting of the 3 brats to me. I can assure you that they will be entertained. Hehehe... my wife will surely love seeing these 3 brats! Hehehe... maybe I can ask her for some reward~”

“Ew, gross!” Genie muttered angrily as she saw the figure of the old man disappearing from her vision.

She let out another sigh as she looked at Jorm, who was still perched on top of her head.

She tried to tickle him as she said,

“So I will be left for the clean-up job? Well at least I do not need to do anything major!”

Hours later, and Genie will regret saying these words, as the mess that she will have to clean up were way greater than her grounded expectations.

Jorm, who saw Genie’s fingers going towards him, let out a slight hiss as he bit on them with all of his might.

“Too easy...” That was what the figure stalking Fang Lin said as it saw that Fang Lin seemed to have no inkling that there was someone stalking him.

“Now that we are like this, I guess I can execute my mission!” The figure thought as it continued on stalking Fang Lin.

“From the direction that the Hero is going to, it seems like he is planning to go at the bridge connecting the Alliance Continent and the Evil Axis Continent... I have to stop the Hero before the Hero arrives there!”

After reaching that decision, the stalking figure reached deep into its cloak and a moment later, it pulled out a set on sharp-looking knives.

The figure held 20 of these knives on each of its hands, which brought a grand total of 40 knives.

The figure let out a chuckle it started to juggle the knives that it held.

“There are 10 kilometers of distance between me and the Hero, this is the perfect distance for me to use my flying knife skills!”

After saying these words, all of the 40 flying knives started to float in the air, revolving around the figure gracefully.

The figure then took a deep breath, and after waiting for 5 seconds, the figure let out this deep breath as the knives suddenly burst into motion!

“Hero... even if you are supposed to be an all-powerful individual, I doubt that you can defend yourself from something that you don’t know is coming!”

But before the figure could start to celebrate, the figure suddenly saw that the Hero’s shadow changed its shape, forming a female body.

This female looked at the incoming knives with derision as she waved her hands.

At the instant that she did this, the shadows of the trees and rocks near the female transformed into countless projectiles which collided with the knives accurately.

“Ding ding ding!” The knives were all thrown off-course, with none of them managing to hit the Hero successfully.

The stalking figure, who saw what happened, let out a shout as it realized what happened.

“How could a Shadow Demon serve the Hero? Shadow Demons are supposed to be loyal to Demon King Nyx, and yet one of them is residing on the Hero’s shadow!”

But then the figure shook its head as it realized that it has to worry about a different thing.

“S**t, with the existence of that Shadow Demon, sneak attack like mine will be almost impossible to execute... Seems like the only chance that we can kill this Hero is by direct confrontation... Sigh, seems like I have to pull back now. As for the assassination of the other the Heroes, I wish my allies will succeed there.”

The figure let out another sigh as it changed directions, with it starting to go away from the Hero.

The figure’s tense body started to relax as it realized that the Hero was not giving chase. The figure then decided to increase its speed just to make sure that it can get away faster.

Unbeknownst to the escaping figure, there was a small bug nestled at the corner of its cloak.

The small bug was flapping its small wings slightly, as it tried to buffer the strong winds hitting against it. It was lucky that its grip was great, as it managed to not fall down as the figure continued its journey.

“Good job Yao’er.” Fang Lin said as he patted Yao’er’s head. “You really got stronger now! You just flicked all those knives with ease!”

Actually, Fang Lin already knew that there was someone following him since earlier. But Fang Lin did not apprehend the stalker, as he determined that its strength was not enough to injure him.

So Fang Lin just let himself look defenseless in order to goad the stalker into making its move.

And when the stalker did make its move, Yao’er, who was Fang Lin’s pet, rushed out and defended Fang Lin from those knives.

“Hey, I am not a kid anymore! Stop patting my head!” Yao’er said as she gave Fang Lin an angry look.

Because of the power given to her by the Shadow Swamp, Yao’er had recovered around 50% of her original power.

This increase in power changed her appearance too.

Before, she looked around 12-13 years old.

But right now, the Yao’er in front of Fang Lin was an 18 year-old girl.

“Tsk tsk tsk, so you are starting to get a little rebellious huh.” Fang Lin muttered sadly as he gave Yao’er a wistful look. “But still, you protecting me earlier just shows how much you care for me...”

“Wh-what did you say master?” Yao’er sputtered as she began to blush. It was quite obvious that she was trying to not look pleased after hearing Wang Hao’s praise, but her face was saying otherwise.

“....” Fang Lin just shook his head as he continued on running. Upon seeing this, Yao’er could only pout at her master as she melded with his shadows.

“With my Golden Rat Emperor skill, I attached a small bug on that stalker.” Fang Lin thought as he munched on a pizorella. “I can somehow sense that bug’s approximate location, so it can show me where that stalker goes.”

Fang Lin knew that there is something influential behind the person stalking him earlier, so he decided to ‘bug’ the stalker so that he can know this stalker’s base.

Fang Lin was sure that if he can do it right, he can use the group that the stalker belongs to on his advantage.

“But before I deal with them, I have to meet Wang Hao first...”

Only after another hour of non-stop running that Fang Lin reached the bridge.

But when he arrived at his destination, Fang Lin resisted the urge to sigh as he muttered,

“Oh yay, seems like going to my destination is going to be much harder than what I thought...”
