The Death Mage Who Doesn’t Want a Fourth Time novel is a popular light novel covering Action, Adventure, and Comedy genres. Written by the Author Densuke. 313 chapters have been translated and translations of other chapters are in progress.

Summary

Amamiya Hiroto is unlucky. His life consisted of misfortune after misfortune, culminating in an unlucky death during an incident on a school boat trip, trying to save a girl he barely knew. After death, he met a god of reincarnation who requested that the hundred or so dead passengers—one of them being the girl he tried in vain to save—be reincarnated into another world.

Yet a series of unfortunate events forced Hiroto to reincarnate with even less luck than before, starting with nothing but a tremendous amount of Mana. His second life, far worse than his first, came to a cruel end.

However, upon meeting the god a second time, he was informed that there would be yet another reincarnation—one that had already been set in motion and could not be stopped. Not wanting Hiroto to live long, the god cursed him before he was reborn in the hopes that he would either die quickly or commit suicide.

Hiroto was reborn once more as a half-Vampire, half-Dark Elf. A Dhampir. Not wanting a fourth life, he is determined to live this third life with the only things remaining from his previous lives—death-attribute magic and his enormous Mana pool.

This is an amazing read. I tried to add a review as a response to your question, but the review was apparently too long. I have a fairly detailed review awaiting a mod's approval. But to answer your question, yes, 100% worth the read. The world the author created is one of the best there is. Just please be aware that this is a seinen with many adult themes thrown in.

Chapter 60 where it talks about Riley and Gordan joining the expedition then stating that they were known in Amid there was supposed to be a comma after Gordans name.

Its because some of the chapters have themselves in parts because they get really long

Anyone know why the TL puts periods in certain words? For example, G.o.d and n.o.bleman

Recently I heard from a friend that it's like some sort of censoring although I'm not sure why they did it with words like God

MC's Character is pure shit! Your mother got killed and you only destroyed the walls? The hell! (So much for the revenge). Don't fucking place that Anti-Hero on the tags because the MC is far from it!

far from an anti-hero in what way? But i do agree that this should not have the anti-hero tab he is good for his friends and only bad for his enemys.

he's still very weak to die to just one guard and the mother is still beside him so i kinda understand his fellings.

The series is very good, but there are a few points that should be brought up.

Firstly please go with the mindset that this is a seinen as such there are adult issue throughout all of this. (i.e. abuse, slavery, rape, murder) However, everything that is adult oriented is either brought up in past tense or brought as an idea in someone's mind; it is never openly described, but it does exist in this world.

Pros: The characters are very well thought out. The personalities come off as a little troupe-y at times, however each character is very well flushed out and their own personalities add depth to the story.

Technically this LN is an isekai, but it does not have what we come to expect from an isekai. There are a lot of isekai troupes, however most of them are not too egregious. If anything it is like a continued story from before the story actually begins.

The MC himself is very deep. On the surface he seems like a standard hikikomori with issues stemming from abuse, and it is true that he tends to do whatever he wants, however simultaneously is trying to do the best of those he cares for. In many ways he comes off at an anti-hero.

The writer does an amazing job of creating a believable world with a map that is easy to follow while also closing any plot holes along the way. You can clearly see that the writer mapped out his story before writing it.
Cons: Everything is very long winded, I myself came over from the manga, however there are so many side stories that were just too long to include in the manga that I actually just re-read the whole beginning just to understand some stories that are brought up later.

There are A LOT of characters, and I mean a lot, the author definitely flushed out the characters, however as a person following it can be a bit taxing especially with how many characters have similar names (spoiler: Iris, Isis, and Isla)

There are also points where you need to slug through the novel (kind of like a Robert Jordan book), but they are few and far between and the pay off is worth it.

Neither Pro nor Con: There are some grammatical issue. Let me preface this by saying the translator is amazing, (I want to send him money), but there are some aspects that just do not translate well between English and Japanese especially since this author really like using Japanese Word-Play. But at least the translator explains most of this.

Last note is the pacing of this novel. It is simultaneously fast and slow. The events in the novel happen very quickly in succession, however the novels Omnipotent perspective is very slow paces. (254 chapters and the MC is only 11) So you need to go with the mindset that the fastest the author will jump through time is a few months at the most.

This is 100% worth the time investment (my personal opinion), but I would strongly recommend anyone to give this a shot.

Superb work. One of the best I have read ever. The story progresses in a shapely manner, with good twists and turns. The emotional work and character development is marvelous.

Meu romance favorito porque você vai se emocionar tanto que vai chora pelo tanto que o protagonista sofre, se você não gostar de chorar saia daqui

One of my absolute favorite reincarnation novels built on a great twist to an old trope supported by amazing writing. It has a slow start but the world building is so well done and the author so effortlessly forms the readers attachment to the main character that you really don't notice the slow burn.

Unfortunately the updates are a bit slow but that just leaves us a chance to reread. ;P

Read till chapter 7 and dropped... "killing a guy like Ruby would be lind of act of a fiend"... get over it dude... you are not some kind of hero who is gonna save the world... you are a Half vampire who would get killed even for a single cent... nobody would trust a vampire... and nobody cares about you and you know it by living 3 lives for god's sake... even god has abandoned you... how can you still talk about mortality stupid MC

Top tier isekai. Ranking on this site is pretty misleading .. I can't understand this ranking system.. its definitely is top 10 isekai if not 5

This novels story is in the top 5 best (isekai) stories that i read in my life (and believe me when I tell you I read A LOT of isekai stories) I like the most how it frustrates you in the beginning to the point that you want to actually drop the novel and then after all the mental torture you get from the frustration, they give you so much satisfaction in his revenge that it’s like pouring cold water on your heart, and the translators are so good and informative when it comes to things I don’t know, I can find an explanation (for most of things mentioned) after it right away. (AND THE HAREM GENRE IS THE BEST NO MATTER WHAT OPINION YOU HAVE)

Great story, worth the read although it might be sad in the beginning the story would eventually build up and start to be more interesting also...I need more chapters!!!

i read chapter 0 and the first chapter and cried. i wanted to drop the story so bad and i wanted to kill the characters so bad. i really want the mc to get strong and kill the god and all of those other people.
