I started reading several years ago and this was the first novel I read and what made me start in the world of reading. I don't know if it's because it was the first novel I read and that makes my opinion biased, but I must say that for me it is the best reading I have ever done. Every time I think about this novel I only feel happiness. I felt like I accompanied the MC through each of his stages, from a mortal child to becoming the pinnacle of his verse. I recently re-read it because I wanted to re-experience my first read and I don't regret it. I recommend it 100% and I hope that other people who find themselves reading this novel enjoy it as much as I did.

Really liked the novel. Enjoyed it. Even though plot was predictable it was well written and character development of ji ning was good. I really liked the Chinese mythology characters introduced Few cons of the novels were like always romance and the measurements like they were literally bragged by 100 times in my opinion

Hahahaha, middle son was truly great, his story, absolutely splendid. Yes, yes, I completely agree that at times, it could be a drag but time and time again you'd realize that only after going through the bone-chillingly cold torment of boringly interesting chapters, shall you get to smell the fragrance of the plum blossom

absolutely loved this novel, it was the very first novel I've ever finished in entirety so excuse me if I'm looking back with rose tinted glasses but for me I loved the constant flow up in the power systems. for me they always made sense and flowed naturally unlike some of the other novels. plus although yes there were occasional plot armor moments, there were also moments of complete surprise or just situations you didn't want to happen, you wanted the plot armor to come yet it never did. all in all it had a good balance to everything for me that just elevated the quality in totality of the novel for me.

The desolate era is a well written story. It's world is wide and full of peculiar places. Let go of doubts and go deep into reading, you will laugh, you may cry and get affectionate to the story and its characters. If you are new to the genre this world will eat you up. If you are an old reader this story will keep you hooked up understanding the cultivation profoundness. If at the end you didn't liked it at least you give it a try. Remember: Young master's swords attainments are deep.

I don't rally want to give you much spoiler, but i can say that cultivation is well pictured in this novel. Sword arts follows some logic and it's not just some big name shouted to be cool. I really loved following mc while his true research and study of sword arts and cultivation in general. The frase I used is some kind of citation from the novel. The man is truly a swordman.

I heavily enjoyed this novel, if anyone is feeling burnt out i can assure you it’s worth it to make it through. although towards the end it kind of gets boring and arduous to get through, it’s kind of just one of those things. if you get to that point you’ll know exactly what i mean which means you’ll also understand that there’s no way to avoid it. all in all it was a great read and i’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good cultivation novel.

first of all, i am heavily biased. this was my first ever webnovel. but, that out of the way, i want to say i absolutely adore this novel. i like the plot, the characters, and especially the power system. its implementation of chinese mythology was really interesting, and how the plot plays out is great. another selling point for some might be that there is no harem, IET really doesn't do that, but there is romance. more human romance, at least in my very uneducated opinion. the mc has other people in his past he had relationships with, but they dont work out, and he eventually truly falls in love with a single person. that said, it isn't perfect. this is a very classic xianxia type read, meaning there is a lot of repetition, suppression from higher forcestc. , equite a few xianxia tropes that annoy a lot of readers. another is that it is like all of IET's works, as his novels are very similar. for most people, it is probably disengaging, especially if they have read other, probably much better written novels.

The novel is one of the best xianxia novel the character development from MC Start and the end is very good Mc is also not overly righteous or evil It also does not have a harem so it creates a single emotional point for the reader to focus
