Chapter 51: A Heroine’s Magic, By Heroine, For Heroine

“Who are you?”

Hans was on guard against the girl who was holding Folia in her arms. He didn’t notice her until she appeared right in front of him.

Hans worked as a bodyguard. Although he was in a distress situation, he wasn’t ignorant of his surroundings. He knew right away that this girl was not an ordinary person.

“I’m her schoolmate. You don’t have to be on guard against me.”

Hans stared at the girl with caution. She was wearing a white shirt with trousers and lace-up boots. Her hair was tied up in a simple ponytail. In a glance, she looked like a boy but he knew it was a girl when he looked closely at her figure.

The girl — Razé Orphan was applying healing magic on Folia to ease her headache. Folia had fainted after exhausting her power, but she should be able to recover if she had enough rest.

“I’m just a mere adventurer. I’ve heard the news and come to help.” Razé carried Folia and laid her down on the bed beside Zale.

Then, in a blink of an eye, Razé appeared behind Hans and whispered to him, “Please don’t tell Folia that I was here.”

Hans was alarmed as he felt the girl was unfathomable.

“If you’re her friend, why do you need to keep it a secret?”

“I don’t want to make her worried. She might get caught up in dangerous situation. Besides, I’d be able to reach out to her whenever necessary. You know what I mean, right?”

Razé’s fingers were on Hans’ throat. It was a threat.

“Let me ask you one last question. Are you an enemy to Miss Folia and Zale?”

“Not sure about Lord Moldir, but I’m not Folia’s enemy. I told you, I’m her schoolmate. I’m quite close with her.’

“…I understand. You were never here.”

“Thank you for your cooperation,” Razé said cheerfully as she let Hans free.

“… Folia, sorry that I was late. Have a good rest and get well soon. I’ll take care of the rest…” After saying those words to Folia, Razé left using teleportation. She had a gentle but stern look on her face.

“What was that about…” Hans mumbled to himself in a daze.

* * *

Just a few minutes before Razé came to the church, she had been participating in a new equipment trial experiment at the Development Department.

She felt the blood drain from her face when she heard the news about the beast attack at the Gardersen Church. She immediately teleported to the scene as she had marked the location before. Right when she took off her military uniform, she saw a blazing light coming out from Folia.

I didn’t expect the awakening event would occur outside the game territory.

Razé slashed the insects flying from the forest one by one with a pocket knife while thinking about the plot of the otome game. It might be a mistake to think that there was a territory in the first place. After all, the events in this whole world progressed based on the otome game.

That light back then… It looked like a CGI cut out for a heroine.

Right. That was a heroine’s magic by a heroine for a heroine. Without a doubt, that was the highest-level healing magic, the purification skill.

She rushed over thinking that it would be fine as long as she could confirm Folia’s safety. But when she witnessed the unexpected scene, Razé was astounded. If Mary heard about this, she might cry with joy.

When Razé noticed the injured man was Lord Moldir, she realized Folia’s awakening was due to her loved one. But she wondered why the awakening event happened this way. Come to think of it, it felt like this big event had been deliberately wiped from Carna’s memory. Since it had happened like this, it was certainly an important event that was necessary for the game to proceed.

“So regardless of whether Lord Moldir was saved or not, it was not a problem for the game plot… Just in case, I need to investigate about Lord Moldir. And since Folia already awakened her purification skill, her life might be tough from now on.”

Razé slashed another target in the air.

“Since it was already like this, I must make sure Lord Moldir and Folia will be together. Right. As long as there is love, they should be fine.” Razé convinced herself that everything was fine.

The game plot was getting harder to handle. With this situation, a big event such as the ‘condemnation event’ seemed inevitable. If she didn’t do something about it, both she and Lady Carna would be in trouble …

Razé wanted to complete her school life gracefully. Her goal was a happy ending for Folia and Carna. Any other matter would be postponed for the time being.

I’m pretty sure Luca-sama is in love with Folia. I feel sorry for him but he should be fine. That’s what life is.

Folia had awakened her purification skill. Although it had advantages, having this skill was troublesome, so Razé honestly thought it was better for Folia to not awaken this skill. But since this had already happened, it was not something that could be hidden.

Besides, she had told Carna that she would take care of the awakening event, so the end result was alright… However, the direction seemed to have been decided due to this event. So, she needed to reboot her mind swiftly.

She would make sure Folia and Lord Moldir become a couple regardless of the method. Love was more thrilling when there was a trial, so she hoped the two of them would do their best in their own world. Of course, she would support them.

“But Lord Moldir’s wound really makes me curious…”

After getting rid most of the insects, Razé put her hand on the old wound on her side. She was just hiding it with illusion, but that black wound was still there.

I’m pretty sure it’s related to ‘demonic bacteria’.

Right when this confidential matter had apparently leaked to the church’s side, this event happened.

Razé breathed out a sigh. It was only recently that she had been sent to harvest magic stones by the battle freak old man. She was glad that he had made some arrangement to reduce most of her other tasks, but she didn’t think that she would have to go on a battle date with him in Zone 15. Of course, it wasn’t fun at all. Only the General seemed to enjoy himself from beginning to end.

It was true that the location might be perfect for having a private conversation because no one else was there, but she was brought to the monsters’ lair after being asked out for a cup of tea. She felt it was not funny. After they finished the mission, she was whining with dissatisfaction and managed to get him to bring her to an elegant afternoon tea.

Although the country was in a truce, they could be regarded as having a cold war. Since Razé was working in the military that habitually flouts labor standards[1], she wanted to make sure to squeeze as much money as possible from them. It was her dream to live a comfortable retired life in the future.

“Alright. It’s time to go back.”

She had left her work halfway when she came here. So, she needed to think of some excuses. Maybe she could get away with some lame excuses, but her next appointment was with the Devil in a Lab Coat. She was pretty sure the devil would hold fast onto her when she returned.

After giving it some thought, Razé took a sample of the jet-black bee based on the information she got from Hans, and returned to the military.
