Chapter 69: Preparation for the School Festival Part 3

This was the first time for the academy to hold a school festival and it was based on the memory of Razé and Carna’s previous lives. When the date was getting closer, they started to find problems here and there, making the steering committee much busier than they already were.

“Granoli.”

“Yes.”

Razé was walking down the corridor when she was stopped by Hugan.

Hugan: “The lighting equipment for rehearsal is not working.”

Razé: “What?! I’ll go check it right away.”

It seemed that the equipment installed on the stage was broken. Purchasing school equipment was an administrative task, so Razé personally headed to the hall. After confirming the situation, she found out that the equipment could no longer be used. She needed to prepare a purchase order, so she walked back to the committee office. But on the way, she was stopped again.

“Granoli-san. I’ve prepared the dining hall manual guide for the visitors. Can you take a look at it?”

“Sure. Thank you.”

Right after Razé took the documents, another person came.

“Oh, nice timing! Granoli-kun. The equipment that 3rd Year Class C is going to use overlapped with 1st Year Class B.”

“Huh?”

“I’ll look for replacement, so can you go explain to their representatives?”

“… I’m sorry, Zone-sensei. Thank you for your help.”

“No worries. It’s normal to make mistakes. Ganbatte.”

“Yes.”

Just like that, her works kept piling up and she really needed every little help that she could get. As the steering committee chairperson, Carna was also swamped with documents that required her confirmation. Meanwhile, Folia was in charge of managing all the decorations utilizing her aesthetic sense.

Even though this world had magic, the amount of work that each person has to do is too much …

Compared to her previous life, the amount of work that each person needed to do was more than doubled. Razé kept busying herself while wondering if they had made a mistake by pushing all the administrative work to the steering committee. At that moment, Folia came to her with a news.

Folia: “Razé-chan! Carna-sama collapsed!”

Razé: “What…”

Razé had just left the teacher’s office when Folia came to find her. She held a bundle of documents with widened eyes.

Folia: “She told me she was going to the washroom but she didn’t come back. Then I found out she collapsed at the corridor. She’s at the infirmary now.”

Razé: “What about Prince Ruben?”

Folia: “I think he’s on the way to the infirmary now.”

Razé: “… Okay…”

Razé murmured with a dark and serious expression like never before.

I was over-optimistic … I had told Claude too that they should take a break once in a while. I didn’t even notice that the goddess overstrained herself…

Each person had their own capacity. In other words, there was a difference in the amount of work each person could clear within the same time. And each person had different limit of physical strength.

Razé was used to accomplish her duty without much rest time on the battlefield. She was unable to accurately estimate the limit for a lady like Carna with her own physical and mental strength.

In the military, managing the physical condition of her subordinates was a matter of life and death. She deeply regretted for making such a fundamental mistake. She was shocked by the turn of events.

Razé: “Let Carna-sama get a good rest. I’ll cover her works. Folia, make sure to go back at 6 today and go meet Lord Moldir.”

Folia: “Huh?!”

Folia was bewildered but Razé was being serious.

Razé: “Promise me. If you can’t keep the promise, I’ll teleport you by force.”

Folia: “Okay.”

Folia wanted to say more but was unable to. Razé ignored her reaction and contemplated on her next step. There was one week left until the school festival. All the steering committee members including Carna were already fatigue. This was a crucial moment. However, it was unworthy to tire oneself with the preparation if they would end up being unable to enjoy the festival.

Alright then. It’s time for me to do something.

Only Razé still maintained the same work efficiency as usual. Even Ian, who was proud of his physical strength, was sleepy doing unfamiliar works.

I originally thought I shouldn’t take their works because I don’t want to interfere them enjoying their youth.

If she was serious, she could even run the operation by herself because she could get rid all problems more efficiently if she controlled every movement and communication. And she was a little distressed that she could afford to do her job leisurely, while her friends were desperately trying to clear their job.

Razé: “Alright. I’m going to clear the backlog before Carna-sama returns.”

Folia: “Huh?”

And this was how the ‘Razé Granoli cloning rumour’ started.

* * *

Razé had decided to take over Carna’s job. She cleared her own tasks and went back to their office.

Razé: “Claude-kun, you’re safe?”

Claude: “… How am I supposed to answer to that?”

His complexion was quite bad, probably due to fatigue and anxiety. And Carna’s chair looked lonely without the owner around. Diagonally to the side, Claude’s work desk was messy full of documents. It was unlike his well-organized attitude. He seemed tired and he had dark circle hidden behind his fake glasses.

Razé: “Nothing… I’m just glad to see you’re safe.”

Razé spoke half-jokingly. Just as she had been blaming herself for failing to notice Carna’s physical condition, Claude was distressed about it too.

He had been working right by her side. Moreover, she was an important person to his master. Without a doubt, this matter had caused massive damaged to Claude.

Razé: “Did Prince Ruben say anything to you?”

Claude: “… Nothing. He just told me not to overwork myself. He’s having a meeting with Principal Harlens on Carna-sama’s behalf to discuss about the reception for the VIP guest.”

Razé: “I see.”

Prince Ruben is a typical male lead character who gets very sensitive when it involves Carna-sama. I’m glad Claude-kun is unharmed.

Razé felt relieved. She felt that Ruben’s personality was more of his true instinct instead of rashness due to immaturity. To be honest, she was put off by his strong possessive nature. But they seemed to balance each other well because her goddess had an unusually low self-esteem.

A few moments later, Adis entered through the door. He looked at Razé with a dubious face. “Scholarship student, where’d you been? I was looking for you.”

He must have been covering up Carna’s works.

Razé: “I’m sorry for being late. I’ve cleared my tasks, so now I’ll be able to help with Carna’s works.”

The time was 4 o’clock in the evening. There were plenty of works waiting for them. But before that, she needed to do something.

Razé: “Both of you, let’s have a short break. You look tired. I’ll make some tea.”

Adis and Claude: “Huh?”

Razé: “What’s wrong?”

She couldn’t understand their reaction.

Claude: “Hmm. It’s not the right time to drink tea leisurely. Besides, I didn’t expect to hear those words from you.”

Razé felt he had a good point. Normally, it was either Carna, Folia or Claude who prepared the tea. She mostly helped with cleaning the desk and tidying up the room. Her priority was her angel and goddess, so it was rare for her to personally entertained the other members.

Razé: “I can make tea too. I live alone for quite some time, so I can cook too.”

She explained with a dissatisfied look.

Razé: “Enough talking about me. I already told Folia, Luca-sama and Ian-kun to take a break. Both of you should do the same too.”

Razé went to the kitchenette at the corner of the room. There were pots, cups, tea leaves, and a few snacks on the desk. They could make some tea by using magic. For today, she specially brought over the tea leaves from her room.

I still have some snacks given by Hugh-senpai. I should share some with them.

She teleported the bag of chocolate that Hugh gave her from her room. Then she poured the tea into the cups. After preparing the drinks and snacks, she pulled a coffee table from the side.

Razé: “Here’s your tea. These chocolates are souvenir.”

Adis and Claude stopped their work and walked up to her.

Claude: “Thank you. I must be so tired. I think I’m hallucinating.”

Adis: “Souvenir? This brand is from that famous hotel. Who gave it to you?”

Both of them sat on the sofa brought by Claude from somewhere. Razé sat right next to Claude.

Razé: “You’re not hallucinating. If you’re aware that you’re tired, then please take some rest. And this chocolate is from my admired Hugh München-senpai. If you see him later, please say thank you to him.”

Adis: “München? Oh, the heir to the merchant association. He’s been baiting you with foods.”

Razé: “It’s souvenirs.”

She ignored the doubtful look that he gave her and ate the chocolate. “This is delicious.” Just as expected from a famous brand. It was so delicious her taste buds were dancing.

Claude: “You really like sweets.”

He smiled seeing Razé eating happily. Adis had a dissatisfied look as he picked up his cup.

After a while, Razé started to discuss about the pending tasks.

Razé: “About Carna-sama’s works, leave it to me. I’m her assistant too.”

Adis: “Alright. You don’t need any help?”

Razé: “Hmm. I’ll let you know if there’s any.”

She nodded at him. Then, she turned to Claude and was about to call his name when he fell unconscious. Adis jumped up in surprised but Razé put a finger on her lips and asked him to keep quiet. Claude was sleeping on her shoulder.

Razé: “He looks so tired. Adis-sama, can you help with his work? Let him catch some sleep.”

Looking at her talking calmly, he sighed and replied “… Alright.”

Razé: “Thank you. I actually want him to sleep on a bed, but…”

Carna was sleeping at the infirmary. Claude won’t be able to rest if he went there too. Razé used her magic and laid him down on the sofa.

Razé: “Hmm. I should take off his glasses.”

He has a very good-looking face. As expected from a cast of an otome game.

She teleported a pillow and blanket for him. Then she put on a steam eye mask for him as an extra service to complete the sleeping set. “Leave the rest to us. Have a nice sleep.”

She stood up and turned to Adis. “Alright then. Let’s do our best, Adis-sama.”

It took a while before he replied “… Un.”

Razé looked at him puzzled.

Oh no! Is he sick too? Is this steering committee a black company[1]?! Is this going to be another story titled ‘School festival in isekai is like a black company, I ended up dying and reincarnate’? Such a lame story won’t be popular. Oops, I digress.

She reached out her hand and touched his forehead. Then she measured his pulse on his neck.

Adis: “?!”

Razé: “Normal temperature. Normal pulse.”

Adis was speechless.

Razé: “Are you feeling unwell? Overstrained yourself?”

Adis widened his eyes while she looked at him with a serious face.

Adis: “I- I’m fine.”

He grabbed her wrist and moved it from his neck.

Razé: “Okay. That’s good then. Oh, sorry. I touched you without permission. I thought you have fever because of your reaction.”

She tried to act nonchalant while inwardly screamed; Is he mad because I touched his neck?! Her face turned pale. “I’m so sorry. Did I offend you? I won’t touch your neck again!”

Adis looked like he understood something and his expression relaxed. “… Forget it. Can we start our work now?”

Razé nodded her head vigorously. “Yes! I’ll finish the work as soon as possible.” She didn’t want to offend him any further. He was the son of that Grim Reaper.

And it’s bad if he complaint to his mother too!!

Razé imagined what would happen if he complaint that a commoner tried to strangle him. Compared to the lack of manpower in the steering committee, she was more worried about the consequence of her lack of consideration.
