Binge read the whole story, it was an absolute delight to read it. There is just one thing to complaint, Author seems to forget few plot points and sometimes redoes it like on top of my head I can remember 2, first conversation about Jake getting Atkin name with the parents was done twice. Second, Author forgot Jake faced submarine pitcher in second match with Golden west. But these are minor issues when writing 1000+ chapters.

I rarely read sports genre, at the most I probably read about 5. This one caught my attention, I felt the emotion and the resilience of the MC that the author is trying to convey. It was hard to hold back the tears, while reading what he’s gone through. I like how this has showed his struggles and can at times be slow progress. Learning to have fun, build trust and face head on whatever challenges comes his way. I may not like all the chapters, especially those with those female characters (sisters), but I would still say that this is a good read.

This isn't a light novel for me. The quality is just too far above the regular works available here. The character development, interactions, dialogues, the conflicts and yes even the sport (which I don't even love in real life) are so well done it makes for a gripping slice of life story about a seriously traumatized kid who was badly mistreated by his birth mother and tries to get back his life after being taken in by a foster family with lively, friendly and sweet people who the author did a great job fleshing out. This is definitely a must read for anyone who doesn't outright hate reading about baseball or high-strung emotional conflicts or even mentally weak (but still op) MC

I have never read a novel with such intricate character design and realistic flaws. The characters stay within expectations, slightly deviating within reason of course. Slice of life mixed in with competitive sports is done almost perfectly. I would dare say the shift between the two genres is seamless in chapters. One chapter you're all hyped for a game and see them win, the next something happens and you're in the thick with the characters going through life one step at a time. 10/10 Would recommend reading.

i recommend this novel to you if you like steady paced novels, you will see jake's improvement physically and emotionally and how jake's relationship with others get better as chapters go by. i especially like how heart warming this novel is. its basically a chill read and sometimes theres exciting moments even if you only know little of baseball.
