This novel was actually pretty good despite the awful grammar... until I got to chapter 240, then it became a hot piece of garbage😔. Imma write a review eventually, but for now until convinced otherwise, I am dropping this story👋.

The translation is so bad which ruins the story. But if you don't care about translation quality then you might enjoy the story.

I like the pacing of the story, the story stays very consistent with it's power scaling, and has so far captivated my attention for more than 445 chapters which is quite a surprise for me that I didn't get worn out cramming all of it in like 3 days. When the MC gets into runesmithing it really piqued my Interest even more, as it's quite rare to see something like that from a powerfantasy novel with a system. The author has also managed to flesh out the characters very well in my opinion, the world building isn't really that great but after the MC got thrown somewhere thay didn't recognise, I have a slight feeling that it was to try and flesh the world out even more, which I like.

445 chapters you say. interesting as its seems there are only 429 chapters and on webnovels there isnt even 440 so you must be able to tell the future it seems

The story is interesting, but the grammar is atrocious and the MC is absolutely retarded. He knows that he is immortal, but instead of training in the mountains (because he also has a training xp gain buff) he decided to go inside the city and sell rune weapons that he knows will attract literally every powerful person in his vicinity. He also says his priority is safety and yet he seeks death non stop. There is literally no reason for him to be practicing runesmithing in one place for such a long time. He could buy a bunch of weapons and armor at one place enchant them and sell them somewhere else and move on. Dont linger like an *d**t. This way you still get to practice and make sure you arent found. Because uf the stupidity im debating dropping this sh*t

To my knowledge the mc is still new to the world... So naturally he would make mistakes. Also the mc has yet to meet someone that is op so him not being overly cautious is understandable. Although i do agree that mc is somewhat dumb I still think its too early to judge.

I agree with you up until a point. The Max is always talking about his priorities of safety and gathering XP, however in recent chapter, I think that the Author wants the MC to stop relying on the system as much. We see this in his motivation to learn “almighty fireball” without the system and his search into what the system is and why it exists in recent chapters. When the is learning new soul essence magic, he doesn’t use the system but his own research. I also think that without the MC going out and doing things that would be counter productive to his goals and don’t take full advantage of his ability’s and race, there would be no character development or story. We see the MC ponder doing as you said and going to the mountains, but he has also been interrupted time and time again whenever he resolves himself to do so. All your points are valid and understandable, but they wouldn’t let the story be interesting have a plot or a real story.

Thats a fair point, but I still prefer the novels, all though rare, where the MC actually makes use of all of his advantages. I mean if you are immortal you're not going to risk dying for some stupid reason.. That is exactly why I think that Immortal in a magic world is so good. Though this novel also got better after he joined the mercenary group, so I guess the first 150ish chapters were just set up so we can get some character development

Ignoring the sh*t translate text then you can get good story about mc witch system that are the most Ruthless mc that I have read. Really undead that don't care about life of human maybe some pick his interest but that all, What he see them is bag of exp that help him getting stronger. I have fun reading this novel, refreshing experience after reading about morals good mc

if you are talking about the most ruthless ex-human mc, i think the novel "I am A Scarecrow and a Demon Lord of Terror" is probably the one on top

After reading through a decent amount. I can reasonably guess there will be no love interest right? Kinda a shame since it’s always nice to have that one character they can anchor themselves too

If they take the route from super necromancer system they could pull it off. Or some how make his race evolve to like a vampire or something.
