PART 1 For any1 reading LOTM for 1st time -what to expect to reduce chances for you to drop it at early chapters. As the name suggest, main theme of Lotm is mystery and suspense over and above action and fights especially in early chapters. Most of new readers who come from some action/fight oriented wn like SS or cultivation based like RI expect the same from LOTM only to be disappointed as they expect same exhilaration from it based on its ranking from website. The key to keep going in early chapter is to get involved and enjoy the element of suspense, darkness, and twists of the novel rather than waiting for some actual hands-on fighting- which may be new to many of readers who have not read any wn of this type. The author is a genius storyteller and is hellbent on giving you an immersive experience you have never ventured in before. Highly detailed explanations of events and scenes will require a focus-based reading to understand-which again will be new to many readers.

PART 2 For any1 reading LOTM for 1st time -what to expect to reduce chances for you to drop it at early chapters. Always expect some new information in early chapters -some of these may seem out of context and info dumping but remind yourself that if you don't understand something, you are not supposed to understand at that point of time. Lotm is a slow but a fine burn and whatever you need to know would be told, retold and reminded at right place and right time by author. For Chapter summary and simplified explanation- check all-time most liked comment. If you feel like story development is slow or not much is happening to stimulate a good reading experience, feel free to take breaks and read other novels in meantime. Rather than binging dozens of chapters in a single session to reach to a fighting/adrenaline rushing events, expect LOTM as a slow poison, where without realizing, you slowly get more and more engaged in story as you progress through chapters.

Well actually I read that review and all I can say is bro was expecting something else and got something else, he thought it was fast paced action packed adventure filled story that focuses on characters but it turn out slow paced mystery and horror novel with info dumps that focuses mostly on complex plot. . Well in books like LOTR and others the powersystem isn't much complex and detailed as lotm and books are compact generally with not much slice of life ( unless useful to plot), so I guess I can get what he wants to say but well he should ask about a novel or read tags before reading.

Dude, he replied to you😂 saying things like he knew what he was getting into. I Dont even know what to say at this point. since i also read cuttlefish other novels before reading LOTM so iam used to this style of writing. I personally didnt find info dumps as disruptive as he said but i think its a taste of different writing style?🙆

he makes a couple of good points but then proceeds to add bias to his review, and talk about the expectations and the correlation between the translated english and chinese version, a completely biased view in which he only talkes about parts that he "deems" as bad. The entire review only a couple of good points, filled with egocentrism, not only that but he adds his own opinion to it when he clearly states that its a review, (Reviews should be unbiased, respectful, and constructive) which he does not do any of the above. . In conclusion everything you have said contradicts each other and only gives a half as*ed review filled with nothing but bias. . He also said ". My perspective comes from a high standard, which informs my critical rating. " ---- from what I just read, I'd suggest revisiting high school, p.s (fanbase should not affect the actual novel) . I AM NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE, I am merely giving out constructive criticism, some points are actuall good but some are also bad.

In fact, He himself admitted about him being biased due to toxic fandom otherwise he would have given 3 stars. the starting about positives and negatives can be considered " somewhat " objective but the later part which he clearly describes as his " own thoughts " are pretty biased likely due to some insane provocation he faced previously. Who knows.

Could you tell me what good points he brings? I don’t mean to be rude, but the only good point I can think is about prose, which a problem that arises because LoTM is translated novel. I'm really curious about what he said about Character Annoyances. Is that one of the things that you think is one of the good points that he brings up? Care to explain if yes?

Hmm, when I read his review, my scalp tingled, and I instantly felt dizzy. Does that mean I'm digesting a potion, or is it just that I can't handle the sheer amount of nonsense he's spouting? Sheesh, the way he tries to present the novel's flaws as if they were objective, when it's really just his skills issue and preference, is astonishing.

I have read some best seller novel from new york or whatever I don't remember correctly. It was a trilogy called "Nevernight". It has very good and unique world setting. MC has shadow related powers. It's vocabulary, grammar and word choices were unique, elegant and sophisticated. But the story was just too mid. I was basically scammed by it's synopsis, ratings and cover. In it's synopsis MCs mother was arrested and was sent to Philosopher's Stone(it was literally jail was for criminals and outcasts) from the GodsGrave(literally a gods skeleton, whole city was situated around it and in it. It also name of city) and many more aspects. MC wanted to revenge and free her mother(MC is female). There's multiple sun and moon in this world. Whole 3 books are way too small, It was huge disappointment. So in conclusion what's point for flowery words when story is in mud? I'll prefer good story with good writing, instead of super good writing with average story.

He speaks like he reads novels written by Gods. The first thing complain about is English in the novel, even though it's a translated version, not even perfect one. This reminds me England's education system in colleges where they expect foreign students to know the sophisticated English and it's dialect instead of teaching things. Foreign students assignment won't be accepted if the vocabulary is not elegant enough. All these happens in IT, engineer etc like practical field, I'm not talking about litrature fields. This readers sounds like a typical hypocrite white who scorns Asian stuffs.

As a first time reader of any novel I started with lotm and its soo good 👍 as I am on ch 595 currently The thing which is most interesting about this was its lore [ epochs, world, characters, power system etc] which made me continue this series It's power system is also unique So my opinion is that if you able to reach till ch 213 and enjoyed it then continue or if not then drop it , it's not for you then As for me I got hooked from first 10 -20 chapters bcs of its lore

I mean that's what I say to people who start lotm as one of thier one first novels. It's like a actual book its even divided into books if you expect something like ss going into it with battles about swordsmanship like Klein finding a secret sword art of the 2nd epoch and becoming a skilled swordsmen 💀 then it's on you. Lotm is not for everyone it just doesn't match some people's preferences.

Do you guys think that the last arc of the coi will be war against the cosmos or something like that, because if we really got something up to that much big level then it will be close to fate war in terms of scale and impact but I hope it will take at least 200_300 chs and don't rush it . That ending will be banger if it happens.

To be honest, I've already prepared myself to be disappointed with COI's final arc. Somehow The Outer Gods have been such a letdown, if I had to quote my parents, a FAILURE 😢

There will be a cosmic war. Cf said in his latest interview coi will be the ending to lotm and book 3 will be a side story in western continent. Last arc will be against the apocalypse

It is possible for war to last that long but CW sealed most of serfiot of the Great old ones. if klein wokes up before the apocalypse than it will be difficult for outer gods to fight against lotm without their full power. if they have some means to get past the seal without lotm noticing them than the war can be even longer

Nope. There won't be any cosmic war. Chp1394 of books shows Melissa and her 9 year old Niece praying to the Fool. And Fool responded with a high-five with his tentacle. With scene we can assume that at least 10 years have passed since book1 story ending and Klein is already Awake in year 1362, just 6 year before Apocalypse. Rn we're in year 1359, and world is in chaos with heretics of Outer deities but once Klein Awakenes it would cease to exist. So with Klein awake, and Adam, Evernight ready, who the hell can win. Just Klein and Adam is enough to conquer the universe. I'm pretty sure that by the time LoTM completely recoveres outer deities will abandon the idea of plundering earth. There's no point in it anymore. So simply Book1 ended with Klein slumbering and Book2 will end with Klein's awakening and recovery.

Well I also know that but I hope something big happens at the end as you know we didn't got any large scale battles at the end of lotm1 ( though Klein vs amon was peak ). So I am hoping that we will get the cosmic war where everything is in chaos and let's be honest, lotm deserves the banger ending if coi is the end.

Wasn't Fool's apotheosis big action? And The very first reason all outer deities are trying so hard cause GA and LoTM are absent. Aside from MGOD , MTOD and Uncertain Mist all others were just attracted here because of great convergence happened that time. All of them are just opportunists.

isn't that kinda anticlimatic ? I think the apocalypse will comeforth and Mr. FOOL will be our savior at the end leading everyone to a new era ...

        Reply
      • FoolishReader_II 1

If apocalypse come then only MGoD and MToD will attack I guess Uncertain Mist is on holiday. Also Prophecy say about decent of Scarlet which point towards MGoD. Other GOOs might retreat but MGoD or even MToD won't retreat, I guess. So we'll see. Don't take remaining 400chp count lightly, it's LoTM and countless things can happen in those 400chps. We won't need build ups after Klein Awakenes , it would action time.

anyone else feel like anime/manga/manhwa/manhua slowly started to die inside after a while. I used to love them in my high school days But now I just feel novels are better in every single way aside from a good way to express the images. . I'm still hyped about lotm anime, but I just realized I havent watched anime in a long while

Yeah, the craze of anime etc kind of dies down after a while. I have just watched 1 or 2 ongoing Anime in last few months. I have stacked like 8eps of OP. But here I'm trying to find new novels everyday. Days are over without knowing while reading novels.
