this story is really great their are some noticeable mistakes like forcefully killing off characters to add drama for no reason but overall this story is great, but their is a big but. this story isn't going to have continuation lotm2 and lotm3 are just different stories with same world building and because of this i can't fully enjoy the story when it is not finished

I was initially skeptical when reading the first couple of chapters, but contrary to the people who complain about its "slow pacing" and only getting good after the first 200 chapters, I think the development of the world of LoTM is both skillfully and delightfully done and hooks your interest during the very first 10 chapters as soon as Klein wanders into the mysterious grey fog and meets the very first members of the notorious Tarot Club. LoTM is magnetic and thrilling and succeeded in engrossing me within its strange, beautiful and horrifying world for nearly an entire month, I could not stop myself from returning to it each and every day. The hype is well warranted, and the journey to the end of its whopping 1400 chapters is well worth it and will pass faster than you'd wish near its close. I haven't felt this charmed by and immersed in a work of fiction in years, and if you love masterful worldbuilding and endearing characters and sometimes silly translation tics, LoTM is for you. Praise of the Fool.

Not gonna lie I dropped this book twice but now I truly believe that it is one of my favorite books of all time. the way certain passages are described allows you to comfortably enter the book and perceive the emotions of the protagonists. In addition, each character has its own depth and for fans of stories with breathtaking lore it is highly recommended

What a ride it has been! This light novel is absolutely mind boggling and sometimes can shock you in the wildest way. The author tells the story in a very compelling manner, highlighting the cruelty of the world and the fragility of mankind. As the mysteries are revealed one by one, everything intertwines at the end for an absolutely satisfying feel. Peak fiction.

This book needs more recognition and Rank 1, Its almost flawless which cannot even remotely be said about any oother novel on site, possibly in existence (mby except COI, but gonna see when its completed). Complexity of characters, depth of plot, schemes and plot being revealed naturally across chapters, you getting to know things as MC does instead of author ruining it all by spoiling. Antagonists being actually cool, interesting and scary instead of some annoying cliché pr*ck you see being antagonist ever since his first scene. Main character not being some OP balance breaking element but at same time not being irrelevant to whole world view, amazing world building and special mention cause this is very, very, very, very rare among novel authors. Cuttlefish isnt sexist or misogynistic so you wont see annoying women that are just embodiments of all toxic clichés surrounding women nor lines and lines describing perfect curves nor dumb cheerleaders, you get valid, complex characters (legit even R1 novel on site reeks of misogyny and ye I read it)

I am at ch 343, and am loving this novel. It is in my top 2 (along with SS). I like the writing style, the complexity of the plot, the characters and their inter-relationships. Bravo!

I am on chapter 220, and my biggest issue with the story is that the main character does not feel like a human. I will continue reading and updating this review as I go along, but as of right now, it has not blown me away. I know that the story is setting up the lot and future mysteries and stuff, but at the moment, it feels like a big nothing burger. The action is all right, and the power system is good, but I think I need to give it a little time to brew. I like emotional stuff in stories, and I feel this has not been delivered. Does it get better at that?

A review after reading just 1st vol? This review section is supposed to reflect the review of whole novel not just 1 vol. Atleast read 2 or 3 volume before giving review.

But you have to read the first vol to get anywhere and I think that it is fair to read any amount and then post a review because that is your opinion on the part. It is unbiased and I think that is what people want to read when going into a new story.

Well atleast u read the whole vol1 before writing a review, there are some who write reviews without reading even 100chps.

It's strange because I find Klein to be the most human character. Or are you the type of reader who needs everything, even the character's emotions, to be spoon-fed? If so, that's unfortunate because the author's style isn't like that. He doesn't explicitly spell out the character's true emotions but subtly reveals them through their actions. Especially Klein, he’s an unreliable narrator when it comes tp himself. Here is example, the snippet from a chapter you already read (Hope this doesn't spoil anything for new reader): Klein stopped when he reached this point. His mind had gone blank. He didn’t know how to continue or how to describe the incident. ㅤ Pa! ㅤ He threw the pen and crumpled the piece of paper in front of him into a ball. Looking at it, he pounded heavily on the table, sending a reverberating thump across the room. Klein closed his eyes and covered his face with his hands. He didn’t move, as if he had become a statue.

I guess I am the type of reader that needs an emotional spoon feed. I find that kind of emotion kind of bland. In all honesty

Well, that’s unfortunate, because the author's writing style requires readers to stay focused, immerse themselves in the story, and pay close attention to the details in order to enjoy it to the fullest. If you binge-read, you'll almost certainly miss a lot of the enjoyment, and you might even end up in the group of people who think LoTM lacks character depth, not because it actually does, but because... how do I put it? Because they’re just used to binge-reading without really paying attention.

Pretty good so far, still confuses me. The power system is what confuses me, and the world building. Klein character development is pretty good

The two things that you find confusing will be extremely obvious if you read... idk why you decided to give it a review when you were only around 5% in the story...
